Having recently read New Life in Christ by Steven J Lawson (Baker, 2020) and being disappointed, I was cautious to begin Reborn (Baker, 2020) by Clayton King. Fortunately, as the subtitle indicates, King takes a different approach to explaining what it means to be reborn by sharing how individuals' encounters with Jesus changes everything. King masterfully weaves the Gospel accounts with modern, sometimes personal, examples to illustrate the ideas of belonging, reaching out, humility, doubt and other qualities resulting from a life that is reborn.
I recommend this book to people who are exploring faith, as well as to new believers. As well, I believe King's stories make it a book that parents could read with children (especially 10 years or older) to spark meaningful spiritual discussions.
