Doctors have to make conflicting choices all the time.

Add in the input of the military and scientists and it could easily cause a physician to question how to keep their Hippocratic Oath (primum non nocere or Do No Harm) and that's what author James L. Nolan Jr. discovered when he found a massive amount of documentation left by his grandfather, a doctor, who worked on the Manhattan Project.

The book tells of the elder Nolan, who questioned his involvement with the development of the bomb.

Thought encouraging and heartbreaking, an amazing view of the behind the scenes happenings when the US created the A-bomb.

I received an advanced reader copy for an honest review.
