When Georgie and her best friend start hanging out with a mysterious professor and helping her with her virtual reality experiments they have no idea of the trouble they are about to get in and how they may save the world. You see, a deadly virus, carried by dogs and transmitted to humans has just started and traveling to the future via VR may be the only solution. That, and a dog who has recovered.
Such an interesting coincidence in this book obviously written prior to COVID and released in Great Britain in 2019. Worried it may hit a little too close to home for my readers.

Georgie and Ramzy meet a scientist who talks them into tryout out her new 3d virtual reality project. Eventually they learn that the scientist is trying to be able to predict the future with her virtual reality equipment. It proves to be beneficial when a canine borne Ebola virus quickly sweeps the world and they need to travel to the future to find the cure.

The book seemed a little disjoined and clunky until about the halfway mark. It felt more like two separate stories than two stories that were meant to be woven together. The time travel piece ended up being cool, but it took too long to get there.

So I started reading this book during the Coronavirus pandemic. I had to check several times to see when this book was written because of the parallels to what was currently happening. Wow. Talk about premonition when writing a book.
This is a great book for a middle schooler or older. Due to the parallel content, for anyone struggling during the pandemic I would caution letting young children read it. It could be upsetting and overwhelming.
That being said, it was an exciting, fun, emotional story. I loved all the characters and the story had lots of twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. There were moments of laughter and tears.
I will definitely be reading anything this author writes.
