Great book for those just starting out practicing Wicca. While I don't actually follow the religion I still found this book to be both informative and useful.

Who does not like a book dedicated to modern Wicca that discusses the secret, inner wisdom of this subject and add in what they can teach us and how to use them in our practice. I have been looking to learn more about Wicca and how to use it in my life, and so this book was perfect for me, as a very spiritual person and as someone who values a magickal life, and I really enjoyed what this book had to offer. This book would make an excellent gift too!

this is a nice 101 primer for people who are totally new to wicca, but it doesn't present any valuable new approaches or information.

This is a book that I don't really have a good explanation for why I requested it. I think I was just on a nonfiction kick and it fell right in to my weird picks for that week. :) Ever since I first heard of Wicca, I have been interested but mostly because I have always been fascinated with witches and I wanted to see what the differences were. As I have never read any other books about the subject, I have no idea how in depth or correct this one is but for a beginner, this seems like a great place to start. There was A LOT of information shoved into this easy to read book and so many pretty photographs...There are also many spells included, which I thought was great. Nothing that would harm others but spells that show you how to use the power in a good way...All in all, this was a fast, easy to read and understand, book full of color and interesting information about the modern Wicca...I enjoyed it :)

As a practicing witch am always looking for new ideas, I especially love to incorporate some of my own methods with new found ones. This book is so good! So informative and so well written. Easy to understand and I discovered a lot of new ideas!

This was a great modern guide to studying Wicca. Although not Wiccan myself, I found much of the information to be informative and useful! I will be reading it again!

Modern Wicca embraces the tradition of wicca's core beliefs and history, while merging it into a contempory lifestyle. Rowan Morgana shows that learning from the historical roots, creativity and compassion can be implemented into a modern practice.

I read this out of curiosity, and it's very nicely done. Beautiful photography, great layout, and good info make this a very good intro. It covers a lot aspects of Wicca and give readers a good sense of what it's all about in a clear and neutral way. Well done.

A lovely overview of the modern Wicca. A recommended purchase for nonfiction collections where similar titles are possible. Definite crossover appeal for HS collections as well.

An excellent guide to studying and practicing wicca in the present day. it is working out to be a great reference book for my writing, as well.

Very informative book on what Wicca really means today; I appreciated the way that the historical aspects of withcraft were depicted here. I also found it interesting to learn about the varieties in the practice from country to country. Lots of myths about wicca debunked here!

I am not Wiccan, but I've been fascinated and drawn to Wicca for some time, but the "beginner" guides I've read confused me or have been solely focused on spells and witchcraft. This book was a solid introduction into Wicca and finding the way to practice that best suits you. I really enjoyed and appreciated how each aspect of Wicca is explained, especially the different ways to practice and that there is no "one" way to practice.

LOVED this book. First, I am not a wiccan of any kind, but the world of it really inspires and intrigues me. After reading this book, which seems to be really great for beginners, I am even more interested. In fact, I went and bought a few things to cast some spells once I was done. Modern Wicca gives background to the spiritual practice and for anyone who is just stepping their toes in, it seems like a great way to get basic information.

I really like this book! It covers the history of Wicca in a truthful manner. Next the basics are given. The tools of the Witch and also what to do if you dont have them. Spells are excellent !!! Very positive and reading them gave me the impression the author knows what she is talking about. They are not complex nor needing lots of stuff from the local new age shop. Rather, very practical and easily found indgredients. My favorite section of this book is the self initiation. I was really impressed with the positive meaning and ritual that Rown has included. Really, this book is in my opinion a classic already and one that anyone looking for Wiccan teachings and positive ritual for their life can start here.
My. only question concerned the statement that magick with a k has some possible meaning having six letters instead of magic with five letters. It did give me something to think about though. All in all I really feel this a truly positive and great place for anyone to start. Well done!
