You know the line, if it sounds too good to be true? Well that is one way to look at Convince Me. Is Justin too good to be true? The perfect man to save you in a bad situation, who is the life of the party, the one everyone wants to be with, work with, party with. Is Annie in the right place at the right time to meet and win over such a man? Or is everything as it appears?
Very early in the story we are told he has died in a car accident, under the influence of valium, but Justin hated drugs as it killed his brother Tommy, or did it? His mother Carol doesn't appear to know what that is all about. hmmm, but maybe she just doesn't want to talk about it?
Will, his best friend and business partner is terrified wondering how their big business venture will now happen in a few short weeks as Justin was the only one the reclusive billionaire would deal with, but what if that is not the case?
So many stories; are they all lies or not? These are a few of the situations happening that Annie and Will are trying to make sense of. Was Justin the man they thought he was? Is Carol the caring mother she seems to be? Who, if anyone, is telling the truth? A bit overdone, but not a bad story.

Meet Justin Childs he appears to be perfect, the perfect husband to Anne the perfect son to Carol and the perfect best friend to Will. Justin is charismatic extremely creative and has connections everywhere and the business he’s started is about to take off . When Justin dies suddenly in a car accident with Valium everyone is shocked. He never took drugs. Over the next few days after the funeral the perfect life that Anne thought she had shared with Justin begins to unravel. Everything he appeared to be turns out to be a lie. He was a cheat, liar and a fraud. Anne and Will work to untangle the clues to all the questions and lies Justin left behind. While his mother Carol is determined to protect her son and his reputation at all costs. Anne begins to wonder if Justin is trying to pull off one last scheme even after his death, and how long was he planning destroying them in the process. This book begins as a slow burn and soon takes off. I was hooked I had to know what was going to happen and I felt horrible for Anne at times, It would be awful to discover your life was nothing what you thought it was and the man you married was liar. I give this four stars. The story is told by Anne, Will and Carol which just added to the story line.

Wow! I would give this book more than five stars actually. It was so fast-paced that the plot and characterization just rolled along. With four main characters, Ms. Sadowsky did a masterful job of creating a realistic portrait of each of them, revealing their character traits slowly and methodically. Justin Childs is a skilled manipulator who marries Annie after meeting her at a skiing lodge. His mother Carol is a doting mother who thinks that Justin can do no wrong. Will is Justin’s partner in his new business venture. When Justin dies suddenly in a car crash, the whole world that has been built around him begins to tumble, much like dominoes. This book was so well written that I had difficulty putting it down to complete other chores or reading that I was expected to finish. The plot was full of twists and turns that were totally unexpected but also hinted at carefully by the author. I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful exploration of the mind of a sociopath and look forward to other books by Ms. Sandowsky. She far surpassed what I expected of a thriller, so I can’t wait to read her next book!

Honestly I love stories told from multiple viewpoints, I always feel like I'm going to end up on a wild ride and that's exactly what happened here! Told from three different views, The Wife, The BFF/Business partner and The Mom. Shocking twists, turns and more secrets than a teen slumber party!

A thoroughly enjoyable quick read, Convince Me is a book told from three different perspectives: the mother, wife, and best friend of a deceased convincer. I was completely engaged with the characters and found them to be likable and believable. Some good, not so surprising twists. Recommended

This was wild, and not in a good way. It was somehow too long (hated all the characters) and too short (everything happened all at once and was totally predictable).

I liked the author's writing style quite a bit, easy to read and direct. it was told in various people voices as his wife/best friend slowly start finding out the thruth about him and the web they find themselves in. the ending was a bit of a surprise in some ways but in other ways it made perfect sense

How well do we really know the people we are closest to in our lives? This book starts at Justin’s funeral and is told through the perspectives of those closest to him - his wife Annie, his mother Carol and his best friend/business partner Will.

Through them we learn that things in Justin’s life may not have been as they seemed. This was a fun and quick read and even though I figured out what was coming it was still a fun rainy afternoon to get there.

Never lie to anyone about anything that you wouldn't want exposed in the event of your death...all secrets come to light - people will always find out the truth - whether you want them to or not. This book so cleverly written in 3 different perspectives of people that played "part" in shaping the lies that were told - these 3 people helped you to better understand the main character - dead Justin - and the web of lies and the numerous ways he deceived those he supposedly loved during his life. It was a quick but fantastic read. I enjoyed it very much.

Do you ever really know someone? This was a very good mystery that kept me intrigued to the last page. The author sprinkled twists and turns throughout that kept me guessing.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of Convince Me by Nina Sadowsky.

Justin is a light that shines brighter than the sun. His wife adores him, his employees and co-workers idolize him, and his mother lives for him. So, when he gets in a tragic accident, it absolutely rocks the whole community. But the mystery really lies in how he died, and as his loved ones start to dig, it turns out that Justin was never who he posed to be...

This book immediately catches you. All three narrators are very compelling, and the slow unravel is very fun. It is well written and well paced. It's a great summer/fall read if you like suspense!

This is a fast-paced read that kind of has a bit of a Lifetime movie-vibe. I think it's best not to overanalyze it, just sit back and enjoy the ride. :)

This book is a bit oddly-structured though. It opens at a Justin's funeral and we spend a good third of the book inside the heads of his wife, best friend, and mother learning about their lives with Justin and how great he was (while this was a fascinating look into these three characters, this back story doesn't move the plot along very fast). However, about halfway through these characters start uncovering Justin's lies and the book switches to more of a straight-up murder mystery.

Sadly, that second part felt underdone to me personally. I remember looking down that the "percentage read" marker on my Kindle and thinking, "there's no way they're going to be able to wrap this all up by the end." The author does, of course, but that means that there's a pretty big "ah-ha" moment where basically everything gets tidily wrapped up in one scene. In a two hour movie, that kind of quick resolution is usually satisfying, but I thought it worked less well in the written form.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for granting me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

This basically was a story with four main characters:
Justin, deceased before we met him
Annie, Justin’s widow
Carol, Justin’s mother
Will, Justin’s best friend and business partner.

This tangled story is about trust, manipulation, and taking advantage of people that love you. It will leave you wondering about the gullibility of some people.

The three aforementioned people involved with Justin overlooked many behaviors that should have tipped them off that he most likely had a personality disorder.

Justin wanted a lot of ‘things’ and he did not mind stepping over folks to get those ‘things’. The people closest to him seemed not to really know him at all.
He was a great secret keeper and his big personality always kept everyone guessing.

You will find yourself trying to figure out if Justin had an accident, was murdered, or committed suicide.

This is an intriguing book. At times you will find yourself wanting to shake some sense into the characters, challenging their loyalty to Justin. You will need to keep reading until the conclusion!

This one didn’t really do much for me. Even though it’s a pretty short book I felt myself bored, I just wasn’t connecting with the story at all and felt like something I’d read a dozen times before.

Convince Me convinced me after about the first 10% of the novel. I found myself in a bit of a reading slump after tearing through my last couple of reads, and this starts off as a slow burn.

Annie is the grieving widow of the enigmatic, charismatic, wunderkind Justin Childs. Everyone has gathered to celebrate his life after a tragic car accident, including his doting mother Carol and admiring business partner, Will. Justin smiles handsomely from the photo that was chosen and everyone drinks and laughs and talks about how funny, how intelligent, how successful and how loving Justin was.

But as the scene unfolds, we notice people are missing. Where is Annie’s coworker Hayley? And where is Warren Sax, the elusive investor in Justin and Will’s business?

Where indeed.

The mystery then unravels at breakneck speed as Annie and Will rush to find out the truth behind Justin’s golden-boy façade. The reader gets snippets of Justin’s upbringing with Carol in between discoveries – what does she know, and how much of Justin’s deception is her fault?

There is a bit of rushing toward the conclusion at the end and a couple of unnecessary scenes (Hayley’s brother, I could have done without you), but overall I would recommend getting through the first few chapters to discover an exciting read. Speaking of discoveries – the dedication from the author comes at the end, and it’s worth it.

Until I read the last page, I couldn’t put down Convince Me by Nina Sadowsky. We follow the mystery of Justin through the grief of three different characters; his wife, his best friend, and his mother. Sadowsky has a way of writing that keeps the story flowing and engaging. Betrayal is a big theme in this book, but as the story unfolds through these characters, the reader is left with a sense of hope. Great read!

This title was a fast read and easy to like. The chapters are short which gives you the ability to read through it fast. My problem was that there didn't seem to be much substance to the plot and by the time I got to the end, I felt a little let down by the ending. It's not complicated, which is good, but definitely a little predictable for me.

A mystery thriller at its very best! Convince Me by Nina Sadowsky will have you on the edge of your seat guessing til the very end. You won't be able to put the book down for anything!

Talk about suspense-filled! I just LOVED Convince Me. Justin is the man that everyone loves, respects, and looks up to. He's got it all - charm, looks, smarts, a loving family and a loyal best friend. Except, Justin is dead and it turns out that he is not the man that everyone thought they knew. Yep, turns out he's a liar.

Annie (Justin's wife), Carol (Justin's mom), and Will (Justin's BFF) want answers. What happened to Justin? Why did he have drugs in his system at the time of his death? What are all of these financial discrepancies? Why did he lie on his medical history? What's going on? Who is this man that they are discovering all of these horrible secrets about? Where's Justin - the real one, the one they loved?

Sadowsky has written a terrific tale filled with twists and turns that will have you enjoying every second of this gripping story. You won't be able to stop guessing what really happened to Justina and who he really was. You'll be hooked from the start!

Another typical, enjoyable summer read. Not sure why I keep requesting this type of book as they all seem to run together after awhile. There were twists but it was fairly predictable.
