I have loved very book I have read by Nancy Naigle. This one did not disappoint. I am all about small towns, Christmas, family and doing what’s right. Vanessa has a very unpopular job, but she turns it around once she actually sees what is happening and gets to know the players involved. I want to go see these horses that Mike and Misty have. In my mind they are quite awesome. Who wouldn’t love Porter? I loved the story and the characters and just wanted the story to keep going. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

This is a light and quick read that will give you all the warm fuzzies of the holiday season. The characters were great and I love the feeling of family and a small town, especially during the holidays.

This is one of those books that I will read over and over again with characters that jump right out of the book and into your heart and a beautifully written story that immediately captivated me and kept me totally involved in all that was happening from beginning to end. I loved the small-town southern charm of Fraser Hills, North Carolina and felt like I was right there in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoying the festivities, chicken stew and delicious fruitcake! I enjoyed the attraction and undeniable chemistry between Vanessa Larkin and Mike Marshall with the engaging secondary characters adding to my reading pleasure. This is a must-read for anyone who needs to escape everyday stress and will leave a smile on your face, joy in your heart and ready for the Holidays! I always look for books by Ms. Naigle. I know that they will be heartwarming and believable. She has a knack of putting a story together with great characters, amusing situations and bringing the story to such a satisfying end.

In this story, Vanessa Larkin works in a cutthroat industry. Her company acquires other companies. They then decide what to keep, what to sell and what to close down.

Vanessa is top at the game and should be heading to one of two great cities to work over Christmas. She is looking forward to Paris, but at the last minute, she is sent to a small town in North Carolina. To say she is not happy is putting it mildly.

However, her job is her job and she will be able to spend the holidays with her older cousin who is her remaining family.

The company she is to close down is a fruitcake factory. Yes, that is right, fruitcake. You either love it or hate it. Unless you are me. I like some versions but there are many I don’t like at all.

While she is there, the citizens of the town, Frazier Hills begin to become real to her. She finds herself wanting to help them but it will cost so much. The question is, who is more important to Vanessa, herself or the people of Frasier Hills.

I absolutely adore holiday stories and read them throughout the year. There are some that are strictly "holiday themed" but so many others are really wonderful feel-good books that make you happy just reading them. A Heartfelt Christmas Promise, while absolutely revolving around the holidays - it begins with Thanksgiving and goes through Christmas - is, at its roots, a beautiful love story and I LOVED this story!

Vanessa is the consummate over achieving business woman who excels at all that she sets her mind to accomplish. She hasn't made time for friends or romance and rarely has time for family. When a new project in Paris comes up at work, she is positive she will be sent to Paris for the holidays. Her boss, unfortunately has other plans. Vanessa is sent to a small mountain town that makes fruitcake to shut down the company in order to put in a warehouse. Yes, I know this sounds like so many Hallmark Movies and I thought it was going to exactly like that. I was WRONG! I won't divulge how it is different but, please, believe me when I say that it is. Vanessa is not your sappy woman who gets all emotional upon arrival; she sees a solution and she goes about accomplishing her goals - goals that will benefit everyone. Of course there is a snafu - it wouldn't be a holiday story without one - but in the end it all works out! Sniffle Sniffle.... yeah, I cried.

here are so many things to love (!) about A Heartfelt Christmas Promise. First and foremost, Vanessa is intelligent and never makes excuses for being a strong, independent woman nor does she shy away from being a caring one! Second, this book includes so many age groups from Buck and Anna who are older, to Vanessa who is younger, to Misty who is a teen. Each of these people were depicted as able, smart, capable adults. It is so rare to read books that don't make older adults or teens out to be stereotypical and this was very appreciated! Third, there are horses and puppies. Oh, hello!? Naigle did such a great job at depicting the Percheron horses that I swear I could hear their thundering hoofbeats going down my cobblestone street!!

We have llamas pulling our sleigh here in my hometown so I cannot complain but can you imagine these beauties pulling Santa!? WOW! The horses play an integral part of the story and add so much character to the overall book!

What more can I say!? I LOVED A Heartfelt Christmas Promise! Whether you are an early reader of holiday books or just thinking about later, this one definitely should be on to-read list for the holidays!

A Heartfelt Christmas Promise was a beautiful, heartfelt story of Vanessa, who was sent to Frasier Hills, North Carolina to shut down Porters fruitcake factory before Christmas. Nancy Naigle made Fraser Hills seem like a picturesque Christmas postcard full of hope, dreams, romance, and love.

The small town had wonderful characters that often gave their two cents to Vanessa. Mike and his daughter, Misty and Grandpa Buck and Anna, Vanessa's cousin were some of the characters I really liked. Buck was so full of wisdom and often made Vanessa think.

Mike's beautiful Percheron horses and the cute puppy, Scooter added beautifully to this story. I felt like I was watching a wonderful, snowy movie as I read the book. It made me happy and hopeful too. It also made me want a cup of hot chocolate. It is truly the perfect Christmas story! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Instead of spending her Christmas in Paris, France, Vanessa Larkin has to go to North Carolina to shut down the fruitcake factory and convert it into warehouse space for her company. Mike Marshall's family had founded that fruitcake factory, and as a widower with a teenage daughter, he had enough loss to deal with. He still has to be Vanessa's guide to the town and is someone she grows to love as much as the small-town life. How can Vanessa find a worthy gift for her newfound home?

The cover sports an adorable puppy with a huge bow. Between that and the obvious plot, this is a perfect story that would be on the Hallmark channel for the holidays. Vanessa is a hard-working woman, never having vacations, friends, or even serious romantic relationships as she did her job. The man she was seeing at the beginning was convenient and she had no real feelings for him, and he felt that she suited his needs. Not exactly romantic, so she left him and took off for North Carolina. It's a town of under two thousand people, so everyone knows everyone else, and a number of them are determined to think the worst when the two people who'd worked at the fruitcake factory the longest were let go, even if they had generous severance packages. Mike is upset with Vanessa; not only did his grandfather sell the factory, but one of those two people was his mother.

Vanessa incorporates the locals' ideas into her plans to redo the factory without completely upending everything they've ever known. It also helps that her boss is conveniently incommunicado. The romance budding between Vanessa and Mike is slow, building from friendship to a closer connection. It means more when they spend time together, taking time to get to know each other and what they dream of for the future. This isn't a book with a steamy interlude partway through, so you don't have to worry about that if it embarrasses you. It's definitely a sweet story, and just as heartfelt as the title.

Vanessa is a no- nonsense workaholic city girl that believes her way is the right and only way. She had her heart set on spending Christmas in Paris this year but instead was sent to the mountains of North Carolina to shut down a local fruit cake factory called Porter's. When Vanessa swoops into town, clearly unaware of what Porter's means to the community, the townsfolks set out to show her how special Fraser Hills, North Carolina, really is. She is joined by her cousin Anna who has had regrets of all work and no play and gets Vanessa to loosen up and enjoy her time. This story felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I love Christmas and all the festivities that go around that time but this was a bit too much for me. Well, it’s that time of year again. All the new Christmas novels are about to hit the stores. I am not a huge fan of Christmas (GASP!). But, I do love a good Christmas romance. And Nancy Naigle hit the nail on the head this year! I adored this story. With the dang cute, escape artist puppy and the down to earth Mike, this is an ideal Christmas romance.

This is a heartwarming, enjoyable Christmas story. It is predictable, as most Christmas romances are. But, it is perfect to get anyone in the mood for Christmas. Grab your copy today. You won’t be sorry…the escapades of the puppy are worth every minute!

What a great heartwarming holiday story! Nancy Naigle is great at holiday stories. This one has a large cast of memorable characters. Vanessa and Mike are fun and have chemistry from their first meeting. I loved all of it. It gave me all the feels! Nancy Naigle's writing makes me feel like I'm in Fraser Hills as experiencing the activities. I really enjoyed this story. It just makes me feel good. In my opinion this is one of the most beautifully written Christmas stories that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. When things didn't turn out like Vanessa expected she was upset, but this turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to her and a small town in the North Carolina mountains.I believe everyone would love to live in a small town like this one. I would certainly recommend this book to everyone.

Nancy Naigle is quickly becoming one of my favourite romance authors. I enjoyed A Heartfelt Christmas Promise as much as Nancy's previous book Christmas angels. She has a special gift of writing sweet heart-warming stories, perfect for the Christmas season.

Vanessa Larkin was hoping to spend Christmas in the City of Light. oh, it wouldn't have been a romantic break, just a business trip, still Paris is Paris. You can imagine her disappointment when she gets sent to a little town in North Carolina to close a fruitcake factory and make its local employees redundant. Not an envious task at any time, but when you have to do it at Christmas...

The problem is that Porter's, the fruitcake factory isn't just any business. It is central to the Frazier Hills community, and losing it is a big blow to the town. Mike Marshall is a rancher with a teenage daughter who he is raising alone. He understands the importance of Porter's for the soul and identity of the town.

Is what happens later in the story a bit predictable? Perhaps...I prefer to call it the book has all the right elements for a Christmas story!There are sweet, but lonely protagonists, there's small town setting, which means that people know and care about each other and have stronger community ties, and of course, there's the plot which involves the protagonists' realisation of what is really important in life. And of course there is a happily ever after, no reader of a great Christmas story is ever going to complain about.

A Heartfelt Christmas Pormise is a lovely enjoyable read and I hope it will make a great Hallmark movie one day.

A Heartfelt Christmas Promise will warm you from the inside out and bring a smile to your face. Vanessa is good at what she does and is completely shocked when her boss sends her to Fraser Hills, North Carolina, instead of Paris, to close a deal. What seems to be a disaster, turns out to be a blessing. Vanessa gets to spend the holiday with her cousin and finds herself becoming personally involved with the locals. Despite the lack of transparency, Vanessa begins to find herself in the process of saving a family legacy and finds Mike right there in the middle of it all. I love the aspect of Vanessa mentoring Misty and standing for what is right, no matter the cost. Restoration is realized, in more than one way, and true love abounds. A delightfully sweet Christmas tale. I dare you not to fall in love with Scooter, I mean Porter, and all the other small-town locals as well!

When reading a romance book you often know what the outcome is going to be - the question is how is the author going to get to that point. I love the path that author Nancy Naigle takes in A Heartfelt Christmas Promise. There are twists and turns and even angry words. Love develops not just between Vanessa and her future husband but between Vanessa and the town. She came to town as a corporate rep to shut down a family industry that had been previously sold. She is the “bad guy” from day one. She falls in love with the town and the people and truly wants what is best for them. I love how the story ends and I think other readers will as well. Nancy Naigle does an excellent job with plot development. A Heartfelt Christmas Promise is a “hard to put down” book, the twists keep readers wondering “what next?”. The characters in the book are lovable - I love that, as readers, Nancy Naigle shares the big picture with us even when certain characters don’t know all the parts.
I did find that there were several holes in the story - events that there was a build up for, that never seemed to happen in the story. In the grand scheme of the plot they weren’t really necessary but I did wonder why they were mentioned if they weren’t going to happen. I did have an uncorrected galley so some of these may have been corrected in the final copy.
While A Heartfelt Christmas Promise is an adult clean romance, it would be appropriate for a K-12 Christian school library. I think that high schoolers and maybe some middles schoolers would enjoy this Christmas romance.

If you need a book to put you in the mood for Christmas grab this one. This is not necessarily about love but about finding family, finding where you belong and finding yourself all while helping a small town grow. Vanessa was ready to tackle her dreams and be able to buy the house of her dreams but having a wrench thrown in she tackles that head on too. I loved her fighting spirit and how she did not have a hard heart after all she faced. Mike was one person that he seemed quick to judge with out knowing all the facts which sometimes was annoying, but the more you get to know him the more you understand him, I loved the animals in the story and how the author had a way of making their personality’s shine off the pages. I loved Misty and her heart of Gold she truly was such a huge wonderful part of this story. Anna was also a big favorite of mine she too was just a breath of fresh air while reading this book. Over all this book was a clean read and will totally put you in the mood for the upcoming holidays.

I kind of fell in love with Nancy Naigle’s work last year around the Christmas holidays. Yes, I’m one of those people. I love Christmas. I love sweet romance. I love the Hallmark Channel. And I love the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. So I was quite excited to dive into this book.

What I Liked Most About the Book: Let’s just talk about the elephant in the room. Hallmark Channel Christmas movies tend to have eerily similar characters in eerily similar occupations and situations, and since many of them come from books like this, it’s easy to think that A Heartfelt Christmas Promise would be like that. But this book had the heroine and the hero both in successful careers. Yes, the hero lives in an idyllic small town, but that’s about where the similarities end. Except for the fact that the people of the small town are pretty awesome. I loved that neither Vanessa nor Mike was really looking for love. They are happy with where they are in their careers, and Vanessa wasn’t really feeling unsettled in her career or in where she lived at first. This story is so much more than our hero and heroine finding their HEA. It’s about mending fences, not judging people before getting to know them, and figuring out what’s most important in life and so much more. Like all great sweet Christmas romance books, everyone finds their own happily ever after here, and it really does do a heart good!

NICUnurse’s Rating: While I know we’re gearing up for Halloween, in my humble opinion, it’s never too early to read a Christmas romance. I literally can read them year-round, but I especially love them as we approach November of each year. So, if you’re like me, and are one of those people, you don’t want to miss your chance to get lost in a wonderful story. It was just the break my mind and my heart needed during such a stressful time. And since I’ve had trouble truly getting lost in stories during the said stressful time, the fact that I didn’t want to put it down says so, so much about how wonderfully written this book really is.

Nancy Naigle is the queen of sweet Christmas stories and this one is another great addition to her collection. If you love Hallmark movies, you'll love this story. It has everything you could want - a strong, independent, competent corporate manager expecting a Paris Assignment and instead sent to a small town in NC. There's a strong widower who raises Percheron horses with a smart, 16 year old daughter who not only works at Porters Fruitcake store, she is trying to revamp the place - organizationally and financially.
Add to all that a frisky puppy, huge horses, a cozy mountain town where everybody knows everything there is to know, two older relatives - one each and the looming threat of a factory shutdown.
This story has all the feels and of course the Happily Ever After that you could expect.

Vanessa is a high powered executive who is sent to a small town in North Carolina to find warehouse space and to shut down the towns main employer, Porters fruitcake, by Christmas. Of course, she falls in love with the town and local horse breeder Mike. Mike is a widower with a sixteen year old daughter and wants to protect his town’s legacy. Overall, an enjoyable read that you can tell will be made into a Hallmark Christmas movie. I did have a few issues with the book, however. This is supposed to be a romance, but Mike and Vanessa barely interact with each other. It’s almost as if the author worked so hard on the business side of the story, the romance became an afterthought. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

4.5 Hearts I mean who wouldn’t pick up this book with that adorable puppy on the front? But I honestly can’t remember reading a book by Naigle before I am glad that puppy sucked me in. This is a Hallmark movie in the making!

Set about a fruitcake factory in Fraser Hills, NC (I live in NC and love my small town!). Vanessa comes back to help with her grandfather's company not realizing she was going to fall in love not only with a man but with the small town.

This is a wonderfully written Christmas/Holiday romance. It has everything a person needs to get into the spirit. Hallmark…. Are you listening????
