I've been working on submitting some older reviews of the titles on my reading list, and this one caught my attention. This is my generic review for books where too much time has passed for me to recall very specific details, but this is what stood out in my memory. Overall, I found it to be a decent read. The character development is well-executed, giving the story depth and making the characters relatable. The pacing of the narrative is steady, keeping me engaged without feeling rushed or drawn out. While it may not be a standout favorite, it's a solid book that I'm glad to add to my library.

Pale is an interesting book. It was meant for high school students needing lower level reads. Although English is not my first language, I thought it’s really low. I’m not the one to judge levels anyway.
The story is about a boy bullying Pales – people brought to life after they died. Lazarus serum doesn’t work on everyone and is a controversial topic in his world. But what happens when he dies and becomes a Pale?
This book is an amazing interpretation of saying “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and I think it would make an amazing school read!

This is quite an old book that has been on my Netgalley list for what seems like forever. I honestly dont know why it took me so long to read it as I really enjoyed it.
It is a short book published by Barrington Stoke and dyslexia friendly. I’m always so impressed by the quality of the Barrington Stoke books as manage to create a thrilling and pacy story in such a small and compact number of pages.
This one is a dystopian novel where science has progresses so far that people who have just died can be instantly brought back to life with the Lazarus serum. Not everyone is compatible with it, only certain blood types. It might all sound such a brilliant idea, but when you are brought back to life you no longer look the same. Everything about you is white - skin colour, hair, nails and eyes. You stick out in a crowd like a sore thumb and that is where the problem lies. Known as Pales, they are treated badly by society and ostracised by all their loved ones.
I loved how with this story, we got to see the views from both sides. It was a very clever plot and definitely one I’d recommend.
Thanks to @netgalley & @barringtonstoke for the review copy.

A hi-lo that hits the same themes as some other longer dystopian novels. Better novels with these themes are available.

Very short. This one is not as spectacular as his other books, but still interesting to Wooding fans.

Sorry, but this title did not hold my interest. Therefore I never read it completely and never truly reviewed it because of that.

Stated reading PALE by Christ Wooding, but did not finish before title was archived. Unfortunately, I do not remember much and I likely stopped reading because it didn't grab me.

Interesting fast read, was left wanting more. The ending wasn't ideal and the writing needed improvement (but it was an arc so it may have improved). Either way, quick read.

*I didn't get around to reading and reviewing this title.*
