Catherine Coulter's FBI character nails the law breakers again in this FBI thriller. Savich returns to solve baffling crimes and tie them all together in a thrilling ending. New FBI characters from a different department add interest and possible fodder for new future crime thrillers. A local sheriff, a bed and breakfast and an accused criminal awaiting trial all add to the interest in this latest from Ms. Coulter. A series of "puzzling" mailings add to the mix and a visit to a puzzle shop and its owner add to the character list and the mystery. A local death and the ashes that inhabit the mantel also have a story to tell. If you are a fan of FBI thrillers and Savich you won't want to miss the latest installment, Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thank you NetGalley, another great read by Catherine Coulter. A young art forger investigator married to an older congressman who has just lost her beloved grandfather has some secrets to keep. Someone is wanting to know what those secrets are. She is invited to see Zoltan and talk to her dead grandfather. She knows that her grandfather is not talking to her.
There is a psychopath who is in prison waiting for trial. She is wanting to get back at Dillon Savich. She sends him red boxes with pieces of puzzles. trying to lead him away from home so she can have his house set on fire with Sherlock and Sean inside. Agent Pippa Cinelli helps figure it all out.
There is more than one deadlock going on here. It won;t be easy to figure out but what a surprise when the end comes.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for my honest opinion.

This book had two main story lines going at once, but it wasn't that confusing. At times, I had some trouble keeping track of the characters, but the author gave enough information each time a character was mentioned that you can readily remember who they were. The suspense wasn't particularly "edge-of-the-seat", but it was enough to make you want to come back to the book to see what unfolded. If you pay close attention, you can know one piece of the puzzle. But it still doesn't give you the whole solution. I like the way Catherine Coulter brings her books to a close. Toward the end of the book, she tells you how it all ends in little bits at a time. That way you savor the ending and it feels complete. I don't like it when an author solves a mystery in a couple pages, and it leave you thinking, "But what about . . .".

This is a thrilling adventure following FBI agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock. With two mysteries intertwined, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! Is the medium for real? Who is targeting Savich and putting his family in danger? An excellent storyteller, Ms Coulter keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. I can’t say enough good about this series. This book can be read as a stand-alone book, but I suggest reading the series from the beginning. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Gallery Books. All opinions expressed are my own.

How can this author continue to come up with storylines that reel me in, and I can’t put the book down. Each book in this series is better than the last. I love how each character evolves and you are caught up with their lives and thrown into the next suspenseful mystery. This story had something going on at every turn. Book provided by NetGalley.

How have I been a mystery lover and not discovered Catherine Coulter's writing yet? This is the 24th installment of a series following married FBI Agents Savich and Sherlock. While I hadn't read her before this book was still captivating. I'll definitely be reading more of her. If you're fans of Louise Penny or the Rizzoli & Isles series, you have to read this book!

Dillon Savage and Lacey Sherlock are in their home enjoying time with their 5 year old son, Sean when Savage’s cell rang with a call from his boss, Jimmy Maitland. He has a case he wants him to work on that concerns Rebecca Clarkson and her husband Congressman Rich Manvers. A rookie grad of the FBI training center, Agent Pippa Cinelli has been called in to visit her old hometown where the Manver’s live in order to investigate the attempted kidnapping of Mrs. Manvers while she was enroute to a dinner meeting in nearby Chevy Chase, Maryland. As luck would have it, Savage was also in the neighborhood for a celebration lunch for Ambassador Natalie Black’s daughter, Perry’s wedding. Savage called in for help on the scene hoping to locate the SUV that left the scene after he shot out the back tire.
On the other end of this mystery spectrum we find an old mercenary that Dillon put in federal prison. There at the Central Detention Center in Washington, DC we find Marcia Gay working out her plan to bring Savage and his family to an untortunate end. If she was to spend the rest of her life in this pit of a prison, she needed to get her satisfaction by destroying all he loved, then bring him down. That plan was quite simple, snag him into a plot he couldn’t resist trying to solve. Being the psychopathic murderer she is, she decided to make the conclusion as horrific but cunning and manipulative as she possible.
Catherine Coulter’s 24th book in the FBI Thriller series, Deadlock gives us further tales of Savage and Sherlock and their ingenious ways of solving crime. Once again the reader is locked into her clever writing dialogue as she weaves the latest diabolical felonies in a piecemeal fashion. Deadlock will be published on July 28, 2020 by Gallery Books of Simon and Schuster. Abby ZiIdle, I appreciate your sending me the uncorrected reader’s proof of Deadlock for review. It is truly another great one for Coulter and I am certain many readers are on the edge of their seat waiting for this to hit the market. I have read all 24 of the FBI series. To Catherine Coulter I give her thanks for continuing our love affair with Savage and Sherlock.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. I just lost myself within this amazing story. I most definitely will read more by this author.

A message from the grave and a vengeful psychopath…

This is the twenty-fourth book in the FBI Thriller series that can be read as a stand-alone.

A medium has a message from the beyond for a granddaughter, a senator’s young wife, a non-believer intrigued enough by the use of the name her grandfather would call her to meet with the medium once. She admits the medium puts on a good show but she’s not interested in continuing further sessions, for her the past is better left in the past, her curiosity is limited and then someone attempts to kidnap her. The timing is suspicious, coincidence or not is the question FBI Special Agent Dillon Savich has to ask for he happened to be at the right place at the right time to prevent said kidnapping. Puzzles intrigue Dillon and this one has come from a dead man with a family secret that someone wants unearthed, a poem taught to a child contains the needed clues. All families have buried secrets, would you want to know yours? What if it came with a Big Take? Where there is money there is always greed. Money begets greed, and jealously and those emotions often lead to betrayal.

A psychopath exacts revenge from prison against the man who put her there, Dillon Savich, this woman intends to hurt him on a personal level and prove that she’s smarter than him. This villain subscribes to the proverb that “vengeance is often more satisfying if it is not exacted immediately” and she’ll enjoy the pain she causes. The reader knowing the villain upfront does not detract from the story for how this villain plans to go after her nemesis is left to mysteriously unfold. Are the events that occur part of this woman’s plan or not? Savich and his wife Sherlock have amassed many enemies after all the cases they’ve solved and this author is good at building suspense and providing unexpected twists.

At the FBI’s Hoover building Savich receives three intriguing anonymous deliveries on different days, red boxes that contain parts of a strange jigsaw puzzle. A new agent recognizes the place the puzzle reveals and she’s sent to surreptitiously investigate her hometown, a town with an eerie puzzle shop, and she runs into trouble for someone is watching. Who will help this lone agent while Savich is dealing with attacks on his family? The puzzle in the red boxes paints an ominous and prescient picture.

After reading so many books in this series it’s amazing how the storylines are still unique and engaging, the recurring main characters have not lost their luster and the new ones are interesting and bring new perspectives to the team. As is usual in this series there are two seamlessly blended storylines that may or may not have a connection with multiple points of view to keep the reader guessing. One case refers to a prior case where the trial is yet pending, you do not need to have read that previous story to follow or enjoy this one. This book was an excellent, well-written addition to the series, intriguing, mysterious, suspenseful, and entertaining.

Oh how I love Savich and Sherlock! I haven't read every book in their series, but when I do I am reminded about how much I enjoy it. Coulter weaves another tight thriller with two intersecting plotlines in a small town and with a psychic medium thrown in the mix. I always love how these puzzle pieces come together and this book was no exception. What a fantastic summer read for mystery/thriller readers!
Thank you for the ARC!

As always Savich, Sherlock, etc take us on a wild ride where clues are few and investigation is the only way to find the pieces to the growing puzzle
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

Catherine Coulter offers her latest addition to her FBI series with Savich, Sherlock and crew solving the next two mysteries that arrive at the door of the CAU, First on the agenda the mystery of the puzzle pieces that arrive in red boxes addressed to Savich. An agent, borrowed from the financial crime division, being a former resident of the town the pieces seem to be representing, is sent to figure out the whys. She brings on help from the local sheriff after being attacked bringing Savich to town.. Savich is also busy working on seeing that Marsia from an earlier case is brought to justice for her crimes and something seems to be connected. when he finds the need to rush home to his family when Sherlock and Sean are in danger strangely after he leaves town.

Sherlock's investigation occurs when she saves the life of a young woman who is about to be kidnapped. What is the story behind the medium Zoltan's invitation for Rebekeh to talk to her deceased grandfather and the Big Take? Why is someone trying to kidnap her. how is it all related?. With the witty conversation, the suspense of crimes to be investigated and the feeling of belonging to the CAU family, you await for it all to come together in the end with well done applause for another team effort.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Netgalley!

Although I found this Savich and Sherlock installment a little slower than other ones, it was still a fun read. As with most of Coulter's books, there are two investigations going on for the married FBI agents. I felt like Sherlock did not get enough attention in this book, as Savich was primarily the one working on both fronts. We met some new characters, and I hope they continue on in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

Another great read involving FBI agents Savich and Sherlock! The story is a convoluted mystery involving a jigsaw puzzle and crimes that were committed in the past. The two FBI agents are being targeted by
someone, an unknown, manipulating the strings of people, like a great puppet master.

Untangling this mystery takes time and a couple of brand new characters that join in to help.

Savich and his wife Sherlock are very likable protagonists. As a reader, you are pulling for them and want them to be successful in finding the criminals and solving the crimes. It is a pleasure to read a book that is written without foul language.
People converse in normal conversations.

I highly recommend this book and when you finish it, you can go back and read the volumes that preceded it, for more information about these two.

If you are expecting an action-filled, dangerously twisted storyline when reading a Catherine Coulter book, then DEADLOCK will fulfill all your expectations. It is really awesome to read a book and have no idea what to expect next and with Ms. Coulter's Savich and Sherlock that is what you get.

Deadlock is the 24th in the FBI thriller series from Catherine Coulter. Sherlock and Savich are up to their eyes in danger again. A series of three red boxes have been delivered to the Hoover building and each contains a puzzle. FBI agent Pippa Cinelli recognizes one of the puzzles, so Savich sends her undercover to investigate. While Savich tries to keep his family save and solve the mystery of missing women an a bizarre connection to the occult.
I have been reading this series from the start and have always enjoyed the many twists and turns Coulter takes the reader on. Almost every one of these books includes one large mystery and a smaller mystery that really keep the readers engaged. This novel was no different and it included the added tension of a connection to a previous case.
These books are always thrilling and an always leave me guessing. I would warn that since some of the characters come from a previous case it may not be the easiest to pick up as a standalone book. However, Coulter does a good job of storytelling so even new readers should be able to enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

Another winner from Catherine Coulter! I look forward every year to the next installment of her stories because they are always so well-written and engaging. In this book, Savich and Sherlock are on the hunt for someone threatening their family on behalf of a criminal names Marsia, who is in jail awaiting trial. She wants revenge on Savich for putting her in jail.
The characters include a shady psychic, a congressman's wife, and other FBI agents. It all comes together to make a compelling book that I couldn't put down!

I highly recommend it, 5 stars.

Thanks to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Savich and Sherlock are back again with another adventure. There are multiple cases going on in the book. Someone is trying to harm the Savich family. A childhood poem could lead to a huge treasure. We are introduced to 2 new characters that I suspect we will see in future books. The story moves along at a good pace and keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
