I Know Your Secret follows two characters, Beth - a therapist who's husband has just left her & she is having to raise her child alone while juggling her clients & life - and Danielle - a new client of Beth's who has marriage problems & has a dark childhood which she needs help with.

The chapters alternate between Beth and Danielle's POV's which is good. I like that both women are focused on equally & that each chapter you learn a little bit more about them. You quickly start to realise that they are linked in more ways than first realised.

The story is very fast paced & very gripping from the beginning. I always worry with triller/drama books that they will either start off really slow or will lose the grip but this one didn't, it keeps you interested the whole way through.

The only 'issue' I have is that I worked out what happened between Beth & Danielle early on so the shock wasn't there when it was revealed. Even though I had worked it out, I did still thoroughly enjoy this book.

This book has great twists and it’s really interesting to see the view of both main characters.

This book was full of twists and turns! Very well written. I can't say I was able to like or even identify with either of the main characters, but I don't think I was supposed to. Regardless, it didn't stop me from enjoying the story.

Beth's life is falling apart. Her husband left her after he had an affair, Beth begins to suspect that the new client she's begun counseling was the "other woman". Beth lost the love of her life 16 years ago and she can't stop thinking of the past. She's suffered from a mental breakdown before and it seems she's heading that way again.
Danielle wants to fix her marriage so she begins couples counseling with Beth but her husband doesn't show up. Danielle wants a baby but her husband doesn't think she'd be a good mother. When she was 15 her family faced tragedy and she needs to work past it. She's got secrets that she's keeping from her husband and her therapist.

I like how the book alternates between Beth and Danielle's POV. It definitely kept me guessing with all the twists and turns. I enjoyed reading it and it was well written but it didn't WOW me.

I Know Your Secret by Ruth Heald is a deluxe page turner! Beth and Danielle are on a secret-blasting collision course that one of them may not survive.

Beth is a counselor who is intimately familiar with how your life can fall apart. She lost the love of her life, Nick, before she met her husband and had their son. Now her husband is a cheat who is leaving her. She will lose her home and possibly her livelihood if she doesn't find more clients. She is stressed about how her son will be affected by his parents' divorce. Beth has secrets though, ones Danielle knows.

Danielle seeks marriage counseling/anger issue therapy with Beth. Her marriage has been rocky, she was in a disfiguring burn and she has more baggage than a cruise ship. Her life isn't as picture perfect as it may seem from the outside. Is her husband a control freak, are her anger issues what will break up her marriage and doom her to a childless life? Danielle has secrets too, and Beth knows them.

The pull and tug between Beth and Danielle is a nail-biter. Readers may not actually like either of these women, but they will empathize with their circumstances. Beth and Danielle hold possibly fatal secrets - their lives will come crashing down if either one of them open the boxes of secrets they hold. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes thrillers!

This book is a real page turner.

There are two main characters and you find yourself swapping between the story and views of each.

Beth, who is now a counsellor with marriage problems of her own, finds herself having trouble, resisting, blurring the lines between counsellor and client.
Is her difficult past catching her up? Is she being paranoid?
Or is she right all along?

Danielle believes, all she does is for her family. Whether it’s right or wrong, she is determined to make the person she feels is at fault, suffer.

This book has great twists and it’s really interesting to see the view of both main characters.
The paranoia, suspense, intrigue, grips you.

Love the way it keeps you guessing.
However, I don’t think you will guess the ending?!

Great book by Ruth Heald.

This is my first book by Ruth Heald and wooow y’all I was hooked. So this book follows Beth (a counselor) and Danielle(a patient)… Beth is a marriage counselor whose marriage is in trouble *sigh* who has a son *ncaaww* who meets Danielle whose face is scarred *sad face emoji* who also has tons of secrets. I didn’t know who to believe, who to feel sorry for, and who to cheer for and the ending *shocked face emoji* Huge thanks to bookouture and Netgalley for giving me a copy in exchange of an honest review.

I found this to be an OK read.

Beth is a counsellor with a little boy whose world falls apart when her husband leaves her. Then a new client comes into her life, Danielle, with whom she gets very close, but, what's Danielle's purpose for counselling? Is it legitimate, or something more?

It's an easy read, I just found it a bit boring and slow.

What a delicious book! This was my first book by Ruth Heald and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style! I loved the clearly marked chapters telling which character was speaking in first person. I love first person in books because it’s like I’m in their mind more than in second or third person perspectives.
I did work out some of the ending early on but I loved that there were some real punches at the end! And I LOVED the ending! I don’t want to give away and details but it just might be one of my favorite endings to a psychological thriller!
I will definitely be looking for Ruth Heald’s other books. I highly recommend I Know Your Secret!

This was fine. It was a quick, easy read. I didn't really connect with the characters and some conversations, particularly between Peter and Danielle seemed to go nowhere. Overall, though, it wasn't half-bad.

Beth's world falls apart when her husband announces he is leaving her. She gets a new counselling client Danielle, who seems desperate for help with regards to her marriage. But is Danielle really there for just counselling, or could there be another reason? Beth may just have to face events of her past as things start to go wrong... what secrets will be revealed?

This is the first book I've read by Ruth Heald and I loved it! It was well written with a great plot and interesting characters. I really liked how the story went between both Beth and Danielle and you were kept guessing as to what was happening. The twist at the end was fantastic and I loved how the story came together. Very much recommended, I'll be reading other books by Ruth.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is told from the perspective of two characters in alternating chapters, both with secrets, and things from their past that are influencing their relationship. I think it is quite clear, and not a spoiler to say that they are some way intertwined and whilst clues to this come throughout the book it is not until the final few chapters that all is revealed. I would give this four rather than five stars as I thought the ending felt rushed, and I wanted to hear more from one character in particular.

An incredible thriller that I found absolutely fascinating. The storyline was exceptional and the characters engaging and believable.

A big and bold, screaming WOW! I didn’t expect to love this book so much. I ruined my plans with the husband dearest who is getting more annoying with my growing reading obsession during quarantine, even though the big plan was only about slurping noodles and binge watch After life’s second season. But this book took me into its palm, gripping me so hard and I couldn’t move an inch because I was already hooked like desperate Nemo and I wanted to read more, dying to see what’s gonna happen next.

This is underrated, fast, surprising, moving, mysterious, mind numbing journey with so many twists you may not see coming and the best thing about the book we have two heroines: both of them seem like strong, well-educated business woman from the outside but they are both keeping secrets, vulnerable and batshit crazy. Their narrations are not reliable because they both keep secrets and distort the realities. We don’t know which one is the worst! There are so many missing pieces of the puzzle but the story’s conclusion is perfectly smart and shocking.

Let me summarize the plot and stop at some point not to give you too much clues:

Beth is marriage counselor, in her 40’s, dumped by her longtime boyfriend Richard who recently cheated on her, trying to raise her son Charlie and resuming her séances with couples whose marriages are falling apart just like hers. Her life changes the day she meets Danielle whose face covered with burn scars, a successful and hardworking lawyer trying to save her marriage and having a baby with her husband but she doesn’t share everything with Beth like her secret past, tragic events about her parents’ lives and the scars she tries to hide at her wrists. Does someone hurt her? Did her husband intentionally let the accident happen at their garden BBQ so she suffered from third degree burn? Or does she keep shadier things from Beth?

Beth keeps so many secrets as well. She still grieves the loss of love of her life Nick before she met Richard. She was sacked from her teaching job she loved and hospitalized because of her delusions about somebody was stalking her. But was she the delusional one? Did someone orchestrate everything to change her life direction? And Does Danielle tell her the truth? Could she be the one Richard had affair?
Let’s stop here! Again I already blurted out too much. If Kristen Bell (Gossip Girl series’ secret voice over but at the end of the series, she miraculously turned into Joe Goldbeg a.k.a. Dan Humphrey) audio-review what I wrote, I could be a cool version West Coast Gossip-reviewer who is telling so much about books’ plots!

So I’m giving my five stars because this book really surprised me and I couldn’t foresee so many revelations and shocking twist which entertained me a lot! Maybe side effect of the quarantine is killing your spidey senses so you may not predict anything about the author planned to rock your world!

I got through this book quite quickly as it's a light, easy read. The plot was interesting and I liked the characters, although I found it hard to be sympathetic to either of the two main characters. I enjoyed the twist at the end also.

I Know Your Secret by Ruth Heald is another devourable offering from one of my favourite new authors. I had high expectations for this one, having read and adored the author's two previous books, and I was not at all disappointed.

Told from the alternating perspectives of Beth and Danielle, we have an almost immediate sense that all is not as it seems. Beth is a therapist and mother to a young son, and recently separated from her husband. When new client Danielle seeks Beth's services, purportedly in an effort to save her own abusive marriage, Beth senses right away that the younger woman is not being altogether forthcoming. As Beth continues to struggle with her own domestic circumstances, a delicious suspense builds as the two women continue to evade whatever it is that has brought them together.

A sense of unease sets in quite early as we attempt to slot all of the cleverly placed pieces into place. This will keep you guessing until the very end.
