Thank you so much Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read the ARC of "House on Firefly Beach" by Jenny Hale.
Having read and loved one of the author’s earlier Christmas themed novels through Netgalley, I knew I was in for a treat with this one!

First, there is the gorgeous cover.
I am not ashamed to admit that, I often do judge books by their cover.
This one just gave me the perfect summery feel with those beautiful colors and relaxed setting.

Now for the story. Sydney and Nate have known each other for years spending their summers at the idyllic Firefly Beach along the Florida Coast.
They were teenage sweethearts and after college, Sydney had envisaged them spending a wonderful future together.
When that dream comes to an abrupt halt, Sydney is left feeling devastated and hurt.

In the following years Nate Henderson has changed his name into Nathan Carr and became a massively successful singer and songwriter in California whereas Sydney settled in Nashville where she got married and became a mother to son Robby working as a paralegal.
When her marriage ended, Sydney moved back back to the one place that feels like home to her, the stunning Starlight Cottage in Firefly Beach where she feels comfort and solace with her family.

As Sydney and Nate’s paths cross again at the same place their love blossomed all those summers ago, it soon appears that there is a lot of unfinished business between them.
Although Sydney is adamant not to let Nate back into her life again, she must admit to herself that she still has feelings for him.
Nate on the other hand is becoming more and more aware of the fact that breaking things off with Sydney was the biggest mistake of his life.
Will they find their way back to each other’s heart?

This book was pure escapism for me.
Jenny Hale has the ability to immediately transport you to the most idyllic settings.
Whether it’s a cozy mountain cabin in the Winter or, in this case, a perfectly styled and situated seaside cottage in the Summer, it’s as if I’m there!
As for the characters, they are really brought to life. All of them were caring and supportive of each other which I think was great. I was genuinly rooting for Sydney and Nate and I had a weak spot for uncle Hank!

All in all a 5 star read for me.
Go grab a copy to put in your beach bag!

How is it possible that Jenny Hale always delivers more than is expected?! This sweet, sunny story takes you on a fully satisfying ride through the magic of summer, connecting you with characters that have a lot to them. If you can't get to the vacation you wanted this year, this book will transport you to the beach and give you all the warmth of sun's rays and the magic of beach life. It hits all the right notes. Excellent reading.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the review copy. I'm buying this one, as well, so that I can give it out to my friends who need a little burst of summer and great storytelling.

Sadly, this book did not work for me. I wanted to love it, but I found the characters to be annoying and really couldn't connect with them. I wished that the storyline had more depth but it was pretty superficial. Just not for me. I received this book as an ARC from the publisher through netgalley.com in trade for my honest feedback.

Loved reading this book. Syndy grew up in firefly and when an old flame comes back to town. She is worried her past will bring back sad memories. It was hard to put this book down. I had it read in 1 day.

I really enjoyed this book, a heartwarming feel good story with a great location and well rounded characters . This book is part of a series, however it is very much a stand-alone book. It was a lovely read to while away a few hours , real life being put on hold ! I would recommend this book to anyone
Thank you to Netgalley, Bookoutre and Jenny Hale for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

Sydney and Nate, teen sweethearts who went their separate ways, reunite as adults. But they are not the same people they were. Nate has become a huge success known all over the world for his songs. Sydney and her son have moved back in with family after the failure of her marriage.

Sydney, who isn't over Nate, is angry that he's there, disrupting her thoughts and her life. What are his 'real' motives for returning home? Sydney thinks he's involved with the further commercialization of their quiet small town and is angry about that.

Set in a Florida beach town, there's plenty of sun and sand in this one to make you want to be there too. While the ending is predictable, it's a nice summer read.

This was an easy summer read that makes you long for warm sunny days and beautiful summer evenings shared with friends and family. A story of young love that ended abruptly leaving Sydney with a broken heart. Can her broken heart be mended? She’ll need to allow herself to truly understand the past and the present in order to move on. I really enjoyed this love story and loved the details portrayed of the gulf shore and beach house.

i have never read anything by this author and didnt realize that it was part of a series but it was easy to follow.
the story is about Sydney and Nathan. They had dated when they were younger only for him to walk out on her. he shows up to her sister's wedding with his model girlfriend. Of course, they are not over each other and continue to still have feelings for each other. cute fast read

Jenny has a great way of capturing the reader and inviting them into the story. I connected deeply with the characters and even though I didn’t read the first book, I wasn’t confused. I didn’t even realize it was the second book in the series until close to the end when I logged into goodreads! I’m excited to read more from Jenny in the future! I wish her books were easier to find in my area!

I LOVED this book. I had read the previous book in the series which i also loved.

Sydney is Hallies sister. She has an 8 year old son Robby.

We pick up this book at the beginning of Hallie and Bens wedding. Sydney is struggling as Nathan Henderson, the boy she dated for 4 years as a teenager and loved desperately, walked out on her 10 years previously and he is now sat in the front row of the wedding with his swimsuit model girlfriend.

Sydney is angry with Nate and he does all he can to be nice to her, which just makes Sydeny more angry. The problem is, both of them are still in love with each other and neither will admit it.

Will they get together? Read and find out.

Charming, great setting, lovely characters, i really want to try a butter pecan latte though.

Well this was truely a classic romance, a heart warming, feel good story where it has you just hoping the characters will get the happy ever after they want and deserve!

So Sydney and Nate are the 2 main characters and the book starts off with them young and in love, both passionate about writing, Sydney just loves writing and Nate loves writing songs and the power of their love inspires them to be amazing writers! They are each other’s first loves and their passion for each other is so deep!

They spend 4 incredible years together, where they love, laugh, write and plan their futures together, when suddenly Nate just picks up and leaves, no reason, no explanation, just leaves Firefly beach and doesn’t look back!

This leaves Sydney absolutely heart broken, with no answers and absolutely baffled as to why he done that!

Then we come to the present day where Sydney has recently moved back to firefly beach to live in Star Light cottage with her Uncle as they recently lost her Aunt Clara and her uncle needs support! Sydney hasn’t had it easy, she has had a marriage breakdown and a beautiful son called Robby, but his father isn’t really involved! Her writing has taken a back seat over the years but she gave up her life in Nashville to move back to the place she calls home – Firefly Beach!

However this place holds some heart breaking memories for her and she’s never really been able to forget her first love!

She gets the biggest shock of her life when Nate, her first love appears at her sisters Wedding . He’s now a hugely famous song writer and brings his super model girlfriend Juliana to the wedding with him!

He tried to talk to Sydney at the wedding but she does not accept this as she is still incredibly angry at him and heart broken for leaving her the way he did.

Through the story Nate tries to talk to Sydney time and time again but she doesn’t have any of it (and who would blame her). Nate gets incredibly close to Sydney’s son Robby which Sydney does not approve of as she doesn’t want Robby to experience the same heart break as she did when Nate ups and leaves again!

There are a number of smaller story lines that happen in this book and it all ties together but I really wouldn’t want too talk about it to much and spoil the story!

However Sydney does have a lot of anger that builds up inside of her and she decides to finally have it out with Nate! How will that all pan out?

This is such a beautiful story about the power of a first love, heart break, family and coming together!

I really loved Sydney’s strength, she’s stubborn and determined to protect not only her heart but her sons! She’s in denial but trying to not let the past repeat itself! There’s many of us who have felt that at some point in our lives!

Nate was a young guy making rash decisions and when he comes back he’s made an amazing life for himself with a brilliant career and wants to sort things out and explain his decisions and life choices to Sydney! Although he can be a bit forward and pushy, he has reason to be which you find out later on in the book!

One of my favourite ever films is ‘The Notebook’ and I compare this love story to that one! Which just shows how much I enjoyed this book!

I can’t believe I cried again at the end of this book! I smiled through this book, I even found myself screaming at Sydney at points trying to explain to her (but obviously I couldn’t)

A beautifully written, classic romance novel, with beauty, heart break, family and true love! I easily give this book 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I’m a huge fan of this series of books by Jenny Hale, and The House on Firefly Beach is every bit as good as I hoped it would be. The perfect feel good read for the summer, this is a book that you can disappear into, escaping from the realities of life as you immerse yourself into the warm comfort of Firefly Beach.

This time the story centres around Sydney Flynn, who has returned with her son Robby after her life has begun to disintegrate before her eyes. Sydney is hoping the safe haven of Starlight Cottage will help her put the pieces of her life back together again, but what she hadn’t bargained for was the return of her old flame Nate, who broke her heart when they were teenagers. But this is a very different Nate to the one she once knew. Now a successful songwriter in a designer suit, this Nate is a superstar in the country music scene. Can Sydney put aside the heartache of the past? Or will what happened always stand as an obstacle between them?

But then a new development threatens the future of Starlight Cottage and Sydney finds herself turning to Nate for support. Can they overcome the ghosts of the past to work together to save Firefly Beach and the house they adore? Or will the love they once had for each other be lost forever, along with the place that means so much to them both?

The House on Firefly Beach is a poignant and heartwarming read that will melt your heart. There is a warmth to Jenny Hale’s writing that draws you in, making you care about these characters as you feel every emotion right alongside them. You can’t help but fall in love with the glorious setting and can almost feel the sand between your toes and smell the saltwater in the air. It’s a gentle read that’s full of heart and I would highly recommend The House on Firefly Beach to anyone who is looking for a safe haven to escape to in these troubled times we’re living in right now.

Pure escapism at its very best. I loved it!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I really liked how it picked up from where the "Summer at Firefly Beach" left off, but from a different perspective. I can see how someone who had not read the previous book might find the characters a little underdeveloped, but it would be easy to follow the plot. While fairly predictable, it was a light hearted, enjoyable summer beach read.

This would make a perfect Hallmark Summer Movie!
Absolutely filled with sunshine and heartwarming moments, I was entranced completely by this beautiful book.
I adored the first book from the series ( although this could easily be read as a stand-alone) and I soon lost myself on Firefly Beach once more.
Sydney is a very likeable character, her warmth and dignity shines through. I was intrigued to find out why Nate chose to leave her when they were young, it certainly made a very interesting plot.
This is a brilliant book to take for a beach read and I enjoyed reading every single page. ❤️

Sydney has never recovered from her sweetheart, Nate, walking out on her when college finished, and their planned life lay ahead of her. He moved to LA to become a successful songwriter and never seemed to have missed her. She lost the will to pursue her passion of writing and settled done to a mundane life. She tried to move on, but her marriage failed leaving her with her beautiful son Robbie who made it all worthwhile. Sydney has now moved back to her childhood home of Starlight Cottage to help her Uncle move past the grief of losing his wife and her Aunt. The cottage stores all the memories they have of Aunt Clara, but everything is threatened by a proposed development. Sydney is stunned when she meets Nate at her sister’s wedding and realises that he plans to return to Firefly Beach with his girlfriend. She can’t imagine being able to live in the same town as him and hopes he will just go back to his celebrity life. I enjoyed this story but felt it took a bit too long to get to the climax. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jenny Hale's The House on Firefly Beach reminds me of so many "beach" reads I have picked up in past summer months. This is a story of long lost love and second chances. Sydney fell in love with Nate back when they were young and was devastated when he left her unexpectedly the day she thought he would propose. When he shows up several years later, Sydney is divorced with a young son and isn't ready to let him into their lives. This was a sweet love story and the just the escape I needed.

I didn't realize that this is book two in a series, but it is just as good as a stand-alone!
