Invisible Girl is told from the points of view of 3 different characters. Saffyre is being bullied at school. Saffyre is infatuated with her therapist. Cate is the wife of Roan, the therapist with whom Saffyre is infatuated. Cate is convinced Roan is having an affiar. When Saffyre goes missing, Saffyre's odd neighbor Owen is the number one suspect. Owen has recently lost his teaching job due to sexual misconduct allegations, and may have been the last person to see Saffyre.
I enjoyed the different points of view. I enjoyed the different twists. Definitely recommend.

Received a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley.
I will always read Lisa Jewell. This one was more serious than some of other works. Goes with the #MeToo movement and with the hurt of false allegations. I liked that justice was brought against the right person but wish for more. But that’s reality. Some bad people are never punished.

The Invisible Girl started a bit slow, which is something I personally struggled with... but the second half was great! I thought the alternating POVs were perfect for this story, and I loved the way it all ended. Overall, a solid thriller!

I really, really enjoyed this. I was super invested with this story and I love how character driven it was! It had so many deep conversations through out it -- self harm, depression, rape, sexual abuse, infidelity, pedophilia among so many more difficult topics. I loved how thought out every single detail was. It was a very slow burn book with information slowly being revealed over the course of the story with a few red herrings. I grew so attached to the characters and hoped the best for them. I especially felt so much for Owen. His story was so interesting as it had to do with incels and that is a topic I've never read about before.
This is the second book I've read by Jewell and I'll definitely be continuing reading her work. She is such an amazing storyteller. I absolutely understand all of the hype surrounding her books.

Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell is a psychological mystery/drama novel that delves into human nature and trauma. Jewell's setting--dark, foreboding, and hopeless--makes for an unputdownable read. This one is perfect for fans of suspense.

Lisa Jewell is one of my personal Queens of Thrillers! I adore her writing and always find myself connecting quickly to her stories.
I received INVISIBLE GIRL from @atriabooks via @Netgalley. I’ve read this book twice since receiving it but am playing catch up on reviews.
Saffyre Maddox becomes obsessed with her therapist, the man who was supposed to help heal her but did not succeed. She goes to his house, hiding in the dark, observing the comings and goings. A neighbor, Owen Pick, a thirty-three year old who just lost his teaching job due to some accusations that he does not agree with. He has never had a girlfriend and he lives with his aunt, feeling alone and unloved. Saffyre goes missing near his place, putting the spotlight on him. He looks the part, right? He must have done something….
Saffyre’s story will immediately draw you in. The empathetic response that her storyline got from me! Owen’s part was hard to read at times, but the way Lisa Jewell writes his character is fascinating.
This is a slow burn, character driven thriller that once you get into the story, it will be hard to put down. I read this book as an eBook initially, then read it again as an audiobook for my family’s book club. I actually enjoyed it more as an audiobook.
This book has a lot of CWs, so definitely check that out before grabbing this book. Some are: sexual abuse/assault, INCEL thoughts, sexism, fatphobia, infidelity, self harm.

Another classic by Lisa Jewell set in Hampstead, London. Owen Pick loses his job due to sexual harassment. His neighbor's daughter is convinced someone is following her home. Meanwhile his neighbor is treating a young girl who is harming herself after a traumatic incident when she was 10. This young girl goes missing which links all the characters from the book and innocent Owen gets arrested and put in prison. A good page-turner.

Lisa Jewel is an auto read for me - I have enjoyed reading her books for years. The Invisible Girl is particularly fabulous, not only for the taut, suspenseful writing we love, but for her deeply felt, compassionate portrayal of a family unraveling. Thank you NetGalley, Lisa Jewell, and the publisher for this much appreciated book.

Told from alternating perspectives; the reader catches glimpses of the full story, putting together the pieces of the puzzle, searching for how all the stories together. Jewell masterfully gives the reader just enough information to keep you on the edge of your seat until the full reveal.

This was definitely not my most-favorite work from this author. There was some fun suspenseful moments in the build-up/middle of this book.....but SUCH an anticlimatic/not-exciting ending. I thought this book was taking me places......

Lisa Jewell never disappoints. Great book. Believable characters, and lots of twists and turns. She is a proven author, I always love forward to her books.

Lisa Jewell is a must read author for me, and, as expected, this one did not dissapoint. An unputdownable novel that will leave you guessing at every turn. Lisa Jewell can simply do no wrong.

A suspenseful pageturner that keeps you guessing throughout, with characters who feel genuinely real, and so many layers to unpack! A great choice for a book club, too.

Was not able to read the entirety of the book and cannot give an accurate or overall rating/review . As a librarian for a big library system, we most likely have a copy of this item. I will look forward to reading it in future since I am sure I will.

One of my favorite thrillers I read in 2021! Kept me on the edge all the way with interesting characters and exciting twists. I really enjoyed the fact that nothing I guessed was what happened! I hate guessing the outcome ahead of time! My first Lisa Jewell book!

This is another solid book from author Lisa Jewell. I have to admit I struggled a bit when we were first learning about Owen. I felt my attention ebb away a bit but once the book picked up the pace again I was engaged with the plot and characters. There are a few subplots here that all ultimately merge into a great story. There were definitely some surprises along the way and as with her other books this one is also very atmospheric which helps give it a creepy vibe.

What a great novel! I have not read a book by this author that I did not love! This mystery kept me intrigued throughout and I'm always surprised by the conclusion! A must read, for sure!

4.5 stars // Stayed up late last night to finish this! Really, really enjoyed this. It’s a very slow burning thriller/mystery that follows a family and their neighbors and how their lives are intertwined amidst crimes happening around them. I had no idea how everyone would be connected in the end and really loved how all the little details converged in the end. It loses half a star for me because it felt very long. I almost lost interest once or twice but am so glad I finished!

Lisa Jewel has become one of my favorite authors. There hasn't been one book that I haven't liked by her and this books isn't an exception. Enjoyed it very much.

Invisible Girl is told from multiple perspectives: Saffyre's, Cate's and Owen's. They all tie together but it takes awhile for us to see how they intertwine. Cate is the mom of two teenagers. Saffyre is a teenager with a rough past. She was abused when she was 10 and her therapist was Cate's husband. Owen is a neighbor that was recently fired from his job for supposedly sexually harrassing two students.
There are a lot of trigger warnings here, so be aware. Saffyre's character was the most interesting, but wasn't explored enough. There seemed to be some weird tangents that her character took (why so much description of the fox that is semi-domesticated?) rather than more of her background.
Much of the book focused on Owen, which was tough because he was an unreliable narrator. What actually happened? What did he do or not do? What was he thinking? It was strange.
I'm not sure why Cate had so many chapters. Her storyline didn't add anything. A lot was predictable and I just never got invested in this story. I'm not sure if it was all the points of view or the unreliable narrators, but it wasn't as gripping as other books I've read.
