I may have just discovered a new favorite. twisty, turny suspense. Saffyre Maddox is missing, Was it the socially awkward incel, the philandering psychologist or his son, or someone else entirely different? You'll be kept guessing until the end.

Much more of a psychological thriller and family drama sort of book, I enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend it to people who I know would enjoy this genre. I am a fan of Lisa Jewell.

I zipped right through this book. It was interesting and you didn't know exactly who did it. I would recommend this one to patrons. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I enjoyed my previous three Lisa Jewell books I have read. However, this one fell flat for me. The story was drawn out and the changing perspectives was overdone. Josh or even Ronan’s perspective would have meant more than Cate’s. Cate is utterly oblivious and I honestly do not know why she is a focus at all. The ending seemed a little smashed together as well.

This book has many triggers— child molestation and rape fantasies are the two main ones.

I feel the previous LJ books I have read are much better paced

I always enjoy a Lisa Jewell novel! This one read like a mystery and at times a young adult fiction book. I find it fascinating that Jewell can write such differing books and in a variety of styles. This book centers around a stay at home mom, an anxious/ traumatized teenager, and a 30 year old odd virgin. Somehow, Jewell makes it work! It’s all about relationships and goes back and forth between the past and present. When woman are getting assaulted and the 30 year old gets accused things heat up. While, this book isn’t as thriller-y as her others, I still found myself getting caught up in her novel. I was not able to guess the ending and that is always a bonus for me! If you like a slow building mystery then this one is for you!

Thanks to Atria Books, Netgalley, and Lisa Jewell for my gifted copy of Invisible Girl.

The disappearance of a young woman rocks the lives of a family and the man who lives across the street from them, who just might be off enough to have committed the crime. We hear from three main characters: the woman who disappears, the man across the street, and the wife and mother in the family. Each character has ties that make them more interwoven than they thought.

I had heard alot about Lisa Jewell prior to reading this book, and I expected a book full of twists and unexpected turns. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t feel like this book had a ton of twists, and I felt like it was pretty predictable, especially once a certain character was introduced. It definitely qualifies as a slow burn. I did enjoy the characters, especially Cate and Saffyre. They were well developed, and continued to change throughout the book. None of the characters were particularly likeable, but that made the story better.

This book is another reason that proves how much love Lisa Jewell. She has the ability to connect SO many different character plots and intertwine them in the best way. Her writing style is fantastic and unique. This one wasn’t as “thriller-y” as her others (namely THEN SHE WAS GONE) but it reminded me a lot of WATCHING YOU. Very similar—following a few different people within a few blocks of each other. Overall this was a quick, fun read that had me curious to figure out the ending!

Thank you so much to Atria Books // Simon & Schuster for the gifted, advanced copy in exchange for my honest review ❤️

There's something about Lisa Jewell's writing that's just so captivating.

Her books are never 5 stars for me. There's always some slight problems with them. And this one is no different....she was all over the place here in this new one...time line wise and plot wise....I found myself confused and flipping back on the Kindle rereading passages because she writes her books from several different perspectives....which can make comprehending the story difficult.

But it was REALLY good; it kept my attention all day long and I didn't want to put it down til I finished, which is the evidence of a solid mystery book.

This one was pretty dark. Lots of heavy themes. Random sexual assaults are happening all over town and a girl goes missing and a 33 year old virgin man is arrested on suspicions. Not so many big twists as she normally has....I kind of saw where it was going and my guess at the 50% mark was correct, but it was thoroughly entertaining.

This was my 5th read of a Lisa Jewell book and she has successfully become an auto-buy author for me. I continue to look forward to whatever she publishes because I know I'll always leave the book satisfied.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

This might be Lisa Jewels best book yet. It was so good I couldn’t put it down long enough to watch the fireworks last night. It was fast paced and I love the way each character has their say. Excellent book ! I recommend it to all mystery lovers .

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher, Simon and Schuster, through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Saffyre Maddox has issues and needs help. The main storyline revolves around Saffyre, her therapist, Roan, and his family, and a weird man, Owen, who lives across the street from the therapist. When Saffyre disappears, the reader is trying to figure out how, why, and who took her.

The first book I read of Lisa Jewell’s was “The Family Upstairs” and I thought it was a great book. In my opinion, “The Invisible Girl” wasn’t as good. It kept my interest and moved quickly; but I was expecting more twists and turns. It’s tough for an author after a book like “The Family Upstairs.”

This was a really good psychological thriller that kept me reading! Saffyre Maddox goes missing and all the neighborhood men are suspects. Owen Pick is an odd man. He seems like the perfect suspect doesn't he? The book does have a lot of characters and at first it is hard to keep everyone straight. This was a great thriller and keeps you guessing the entire time. I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

Jewell is great at weaving a story. I love a mystery with multiple points of view that come together throughout the story.

We’re following Cate, a stay at home mom married to a child psychologist who she believes is having an affair and may be up to something more sinister. Owen is a teacher who is accused of inappropriate behavior and may be responsible for recent sexual attacks. Saffyre is a young girl who has experienced abuse in her childhood and has been counseled by Cate’s husband.

The story surrounds the sexual attacks, Owen’s struggles, and Saffyre’s disappearance.

Again, Jewell weaves a story that keeps you guessing because you know some how some way these characters are connected.

Highly recommend!

In Lisa Jewell's world you can always expect the unexpected. What secrets lurk behind the curtains of this idyllic London street lined with grand houses? Lots!

Saffyre Maddox was ten something terrible happened to her. She's carried the pain of it with her and began harming herself. Her family takes her to therapy where Owen Pick seemingly works miracles on her and teaches her how not to self harm.

Yet, once he ends their therapy sessions Saffyre can't seem to let go. She starts watching him, following him, all while remaining invisible to him and those around her. No one knows that she is struggling or the secrets she uncovers, until the day she goes missing.

I have to admit that at the midway point of this book, I was feeling a bit underwhelmed, sure I had it all neatly figured out. By the end, I was nodding my head in appreciation of the tale Jewell had crafted.
This book makes you think about how well you really know anyone. Everyone has secrets, some are just much better at wearing a mask than others. And sometimes the most outwardly beautiful/handsome/put together appearances are hiding the darkest secrets/desires.

This was a twisty dramatic suspense with short chapters and alternating POV’s which made for a quick read with a satisfying conclusion.

I always love Lisa Jewell’s novels, and this was another great read. Maybe a little different than her usual style? But still a stunner.
Saffyre is a teen who feels she doesn’t quite fit in. Owen is a man who really doesn’t fit in. Rowan Fours and his wife Cate become intertwined in the mystery of when Saffyre disappears. It is interesting to see the story through everyone’s POV, because each has their own telling of what they perceive.

Lots of twists and turns! This was a really suspenseful, well-plotted and timely thriller with a satisfying ending. It definitely kept me guessing.

I want to give this 10 stars for everything from the plot, the characters, the details, the twists, the brilliant writing and the fact I just love Lisa Jewell's books!
This was such a dark and sad story, along with quite a few dark twists and OMG moments.
I don't think I ever rooted for a character so strongly...BUT I'm not going to tell you what character in this book I rooted for....you must read it to find out! :-)

Thank you for my free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Lisa Jewell has done it again, i devoured the invisible girl and holy moly was it a well written dark, intenstensly creepy, phenomenal thought provoking suspenseful read. I don't know how she keeps doing it but every book becomes my new favorite. This one is told from multiple points of view in 3 different parts, before, after and now. This book takes a look into perceptions people tend to have and how well you actually know someone. Everyone also holds secrets, but at what costs should these secrets be revealed and should we let them rule our life. That there is always more to people than meets the eye.

Saffyre Maddox was ten years old when something terrible happened, she keeps the pain and events of that bottled up inside. After cutting herself as an outlet for the pain her uncle sends her to therapy, but after 3 years her therapist thinks she's ready to move on. What the therapist doesn't know is she hasn't revealed the actual trauma that occurred.

Owen Pick is a geography teacher, he is a rather odd fellow that hasn't ever had a girlfriend or for that matter many friends. He lives with his Aunt, and has just been suspended from his job because of allegations of misconduct towards students. He also has a traumatic past and keeps that to himself.

Roan Fours, Saffyre's therapist, who also happens to live across the road from owen, is a married father of two. He also holds some secrets.

Women are being sexually assaulted and no one has been caught. Then on Valentine's day Saffyre goes missing, and all signs point to Owen, but it seems to only be because he seems like an easy target.

I am so happy I didn’t read about this book before I started it. I just knew that it was a Lisa Jewell, which means it would be an entertaining mystery. Thank you so much to Atria Publishing, Lisa Jewell, and Netgalley for my ARC!

This book was about a few different characters, including Cate, Owen, and Saffyre. Saffyre is a rambunctious teenager who has been through a lot in life. In the past she has been to a psychotherapist and is trying to move on from her issues. That psychotherapist just happens to be the husband of Cate, a housewife who thinks her husband is having another affair. She tries her best to take care of her family but is worried when a string of sexual assaults start happening in her neighborhood. Owen lives across the street from Cate, and is considered creepy by most of the neighborhood. He loses his job due to sexual misconduct and now is being looked at for the recent crimes.

Thoughts: I liked the story-line of this book and found it to be interesting and easy to follow. Lisa Jewell is a great writer and always makes you feel like you’re a part of the story. The characters were all unique and interesting and I wanted to see what would happen to each one of them. I really liked the character of Saffyre and found myself empathizing with Owen at times. My preference is a fast-paced thriller, so this one was a bit hard to get into and had some slower moments. I love big reveal moments and didn’t find this book to have many until near the end. I did enjoy the ending of this book a lot and found it to be satisfying while leaving you with a few questions. All in all I would definitely recommend this book and give it 4-stars!

I’m between 2.5 and 3 stars on this one so I’m rounding up. There are several subplots at play in Invisible Girl and multiple POVs. I had a tough time trying to find the connections between each storyline and when I reached the end, felt a bit let down. However, I did enjoy the psychological aspect of this story and it definitely kept me guessing.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Once again Lisa Jewell has pulled me in, played with my emotions and made me lose entire hours wondering what becomes of her characters.
As someone who enjoys a good turn of phrase, Lisa Jewell never fails to disappoint and this was no different.
Her characters are so well developed and her knack for storytelling has no equal in the thriller/contemporary fiction realm. This story is very timely in that it centers on the mystery of women who are being attacked in a certain part of Hampstead and there are various different people who could be the culprit.
The storyline twists and turns in different ways and focuses on different characters in order to tell a very rich and luscious story.
I HIGHLY recommend this book, it was a perfect escape from the everyday worries of my life and allowed me to venture into different people's minds and moral quandaries.
PLEASE pick this book up, you won't regret it!
