I had not read any other books in F. Paul Wilson's bibliography, but the premise looked interesting so i gave it a shot. I am a big horror fan and this book definitely has some chilling/haunting moments. But the overall plot was hard to follow if you have not read any previous books in the series. Enjoyable experience, but I would get some background on the series first. if you want to have a better understanding.
Another great read from F Paul Wilson, in the Adversary cycle. It is a great gap fixer between some of the books. His weird fiction never fails to entertain.
Wilson has written a scifi mystery that keeps one on their toes. I have enjoyed all of Wilson's books over the years and this book does not disappoint. The book has plenty of twists and turns to keep one interested.
I haver read all of the Repairman Jack / Adversary Cycle books (and actually have the print copies!) I loved them all.
It may be best to first read Nightworld. (Which will not disappoint). However, Wilson's imagery and characterization take the reader to the heart of the story. The interaction among the three main "themes" as they intertwine enables the story to be just that much better!
Highly Recommend!
Many Thanks to Crossroad Press / Macabre Ink and NetGalley for another F. Paul Wilson winner!
You just can't lose with Wilson; he's a master of truly creepy horror. This book is no exception. What a fascinating and chilling premise! Nearly non-stop action, and enough twists and turns to guarantee a wild ride. Loved it, and highly recommend.
*My thanks to the author and publisher (via NetGalley) for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. It's greatly appreciated!*
I am a fan of the Nightworld series and was really surprised to find this prequel on Netgalley - pleasantly surprised I might add! As a standalone novel this wouldn't work, however, if you've read the Nightworld novels then there are some interesting embellishments on the Nightworld novel itself. I found this a great addition to the canon and a recommended read for F. Paul Wilson fans - just remember to have read the rest of the series before hand!

The Secret History of the World is coming to an end. (ouch!) SIGNALZ fits in before NIGHTWORLD, a title recognizable to all fans of Repairman Jack - F. Paul Wilson. Like all of Wilson's stories it's rich in characterization and large on story development. Whenever I read one of his books I always want more. Luckily, F. Paul Wilson is extremely prolific. I have many books to choose from to read and re-read.
It's also interesting to note how the series has changed over the years. One of the first books in the series is THE KEEP. It's about vampires and Nazis. Later books have a more paranormal or science fiction leaning. But they all have one thing in common: they are all well written and will leave you wanting more. And there are many books to feed that hunger for more.
Social distancing? No time like the present to snap this and any of the other SHOTW books you may have missed. I loved SIGNALZ. 5 shooting stars,
Yes yes yes! A bit more about what led up to the events in Nightworld. I'm a huge fan of the adversary cycle, and repairman jack, and anything connected to either of those. If you're not caught up, start by reading The Keep. Then read The Tomb, The Touch, Reborn, Reprisal, Signalz, then finally, Nightworld. This is absolutely everything I would have expected in an addition to the Adversary Cycle. Nerve-wracking, horrifying at times, action packed. I loved this so much, I went straight back and started reading The Keep.
