Thank you Net Galley and Thomas and Mercer for an early copy of this novel. This was a FANTASTIC read!!!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!!! The characters were soooo interesting, I couldn’t wait to see who won at the end. Great ending! I didn’t want this book to finish.
Cat seems to have everything - including the handsome and wealthy husband. And there is someone nearby who wants it all...
Neena, hired by William, Cat's husband, to help his company through her lifecoaching, has done many things to get by, including blackmail and cheat. Soon she's moved into Cat and William's neighborhood, and is striking up a very inappropriate friendship with her boss. While Neena might go so far as to poison or scare to get what she wants, she doesn't know that Cat suspects - and just might strike back as well. An affair, an attempted murder, and soon the police are involved...
This is a delicious piece of wicked thriller that will be savored by fans of the genre and wants to see two strong-willed women do battle.
Every Last Secret was like a suspenseful game of power, seduction, and jealousy. At one point, it's referred to like a game of chess, and that kind of fits. It flowed nicely and was entertaining. The women I think (Cat and Neena) hold all the power, but the men (William mostly) are not all innocent.
At the beginning this seemed more ominous than it ended up being, though there were definitely some shocking moments. And while the characters are definitely flawed, the writer helped us to see more than one dimension to each of them. Everyone has a reason for doing what they do, whether it's right, wrong, or logical.
This was so good! A.R. Torre outdid herself with this book! It was full of suspense and twists and turns. I couldn't put it down and it kept me guessing til the very end. I would highly recommend!
I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Ø 3.5 stars
I went through all emotional stages with this book. I raged, I hated, I loved. At one point when I was sure this book went into a certain direction I just wanted to give it 2 stars and be done with it. To be frank, this book has one trope I absolutley hate with my entire human being. Some might know from another review, for the others a hint: it's starts with 'c' and rhymes with meeting.
So when I realized it went there, I wanted to rage and throw my phone away, but I couldn't. There is just something about Alessandra Torre's writing style that works for me. It's addictive and I couldn't stop. I was intrigued by all these characters and the story. While reading the first half of Every Last Secret made me stressed the fuck out and I just wanted to bash some character's head in with a baseball bat, I also realized that I can't hold a psychological suspense and a typical romance to the same standard when it comes to that one particular trope. It wouldn't be fair. Every Last Secret has romance aspect in it for sure, but that's not the message of the story. These characters are more flawed.
Two women fighting over a guy who may or may not be worth it? This is still a thing in 2020? This happened in the Wedding War, a book I gave 1 star, because the way it was written it was just not it. I liked that this was like a well executed chess game. Who's going to make the power move and which queen is still standing at the end is the question.
As mentioned above I felt every emotional possible. This is one of these books were a one star made as much sense to me as a five star rating. Ultimately I decided to give it 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for two reasons.
Numero 1:
Some of you may hate it, Some of you will love it. If I made you feel something, then I've done my job.
This is a part of the author's note. And I agree so much with it. Did I hate parts? Yes. But did I also love other parts? YES. I hated certain characters with a passion and I was rooting for other characters who were not much better. All the characters (besides maybe one) in this story is insane and not a good human. All of them do so much fucked up shit, but somehow or because of it idk I could still root for them. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but I prefer it that way than reading a book were the characters may be super likabable but I don't care at all and every page I read is just "meh" or "okay".
Numero 2:
I read this book a couple of days ago and it still messes with my head. I can't stop thinking about the ending. The storyline is fairly predictable and is nothing ground-breaking, but how Alessandra Torre solved everything and gave each of these characters an ending, still fucks with my head. If the fate of the characters is justified is a different question, but I can't stop thinking about what's wrong and what's right. Do monsters deserve a second chance? I question my whole existence lmao. Questions that plague me at 4 am. I would double checked the "psychological" part of this book because damn it worked. I haven't read many psychologial thriller to say for sure if this one is good or not, but it's was super entertaining for me to read. Who doesn't love a good revenge story.
4.5 stars
A cleverly crafted story of two devious women, who will do anything to get what they want.
Cat Winthorpe has it all.
The perfect home.
The perfect husband (William).
The perfect role within her community.
So when that perfect life is threatened, how far will she go to maintain that life? That's the question that is explored in this book.
From the get-go, Neena Ryder, Cat and William's newest neighbor, is viewed with hostility. Cat immediately critiqued everything about her, from her clothes, to her choice of a husband. In addition, it wasn't long before Cat was suspicious of Neena's motives around William, who just so happened to have hired her. As this story is told from both Cat and Neena's POVs, we learn that Cat's suspicions are not far off base.
While I didn't care for either woman, I found them equally fascinating, and loved to see how they tried to one up each other. What I didn't expect was how far they'd push to bring the other down. And I thought one had more nefarious intentions than the other. Boy was I way off base!
It's been a while since this author has messed with my brain, but I relish her return to this genre. I loved the cunning nature of these characters and the lengths they would go to one up each other. And the little twist at the end was a delicious treat. If you enjoy psychological thrillers, this is worth checking out!
Thank you to NetGalley & Thomas & Mercer for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a captivating and seductive tale... Two old adages popped in my head while reading this:
- Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
- Thou shalt no covet thy neighbors wife... or husband in this case.
Cat Winthrope is marries to William; a gorgeous - highly successful business man. Cat helped William get to where the companies are today. She is his rock and his world; nothing can shake their bond. That is until Dr. Neena Ryder is hired at Winthrope Industries in order to help coach and build moral through the staff. Neena and her husband Matt, also bought the house right next door to to Cat & William and start to systemically insert themselves into the daily lives of Cat & William.
Cat is not stupid. She knows something is amiss with Neena's attention towards her husband. What she didn't expect was for William to fall for any of it. As the story unravels secrets come out of the closet in the most titillating unexpected way.
AR Torre thank you for keeping me on the edge of my seat the entire ride.
So-really not my type of book.A story frequently told by other authors-two women psychologically fighting over a wealthy guy. Easy to predict the finale, but how the author gets there is interesting, with multiple twists and unexpected turns. A “ beach read”- enjoyable and no heavy thinking involved.
When I first started reading this book, I was worried it would be another millionaire romance/thriller with shallow, unrealistic characters. I’m happy to say that is not the case!
The more I delved into this story, the more I became enthralled with it! Cat has worked hard to maintain her position at the top of the social hierarchy with her beautiful mansion and husband, William, who runs Winthorpe Technologies. When William hires Neena as director of motivation for the company, Cat also finds out that she and her husband will be moving into the abandoned estate next door. It comes as no surprise that Cat has her guard up when they first meet, and rightfully so. Neena is harboring secrets and Cat will use whatever means to uncover them. The competition between them grows fierce, but how far is too far?
This really was a fantastic suspenseful thriller, and I couldn’t put it down until I knew who was behind everything and why. It definitely caught me by surprise, which made reading this book all the more worth it. Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story is a tit for tat that makes you hold your breath in anticipation. It’s an escalating chess match, with exponential stakes.
.
Cat has worked hard to reach the top of the social ladder. She has a lavish home and lifestyle, a handsome, successful husband and is the envy of everyone in her posh town.
.
When Neena moves in next door, Cat is immediately mistrustful. Neena begins inventing reasons to spend time with Cat’s husband, William and persistently inserts herself into their lives. It becomes glaringly obvious that Neena wants what Cat has. Cat does not plan to take this lying down.
.
As the infatuation grows, the relationships become toxic, detrimental and spiral out of control
.
Neither woman can be underestimated... who will win this dangerous game?

I love Alexandra Torre's books, so I was thrilled to see that she had written a suspense novel in her pen name, A. R. Torre. She develops extremely interesting, well crafted characters and plotlines. They compel the reader to stay absorbed in the book and that it's best to impossible to put it down. "Every Last Secret" gives us access to the minds of two "frenemies", Cat and Neena, who are completely jealous of one another. This causes a tremendous battle between the two. The two women are constantly trying to out do one another.
This is an extremely readable novel. I found myself devouring it in one sitting. Although it doesn't take a lot to see how things are headed, it doesn't mean that it's not one heck of an enjoyable ride to see every last thing that they do, and how this twisted story of extreme rivalry can be and still manages to end on a high note.
I would like to thank Alexandra Torre, Thomas Mercer Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchangev for a fair and honest review.
Wicked Fun!

“I had made the horrible assumption that I was the smartest person in this game.”
Every Last Secret is an entertaining psychological thriller about two women who go head-to-head over a married man. The other woman will do whatever it takes to snag a ring. His wife will do whatever it takes to protect what’s hers. Who will win in the end?
Cat, married to William for 13 years, is living the good life. She is the queen bee of their affluent neighborhood, an equal investor in her husband’s multimillion-dollar business, and the woman others strive to be.
Neena wants Cat’s life, literally. Even though she has a husband who adores her and is moving up in the world, her goal is to become William’s next wife, even if it means destroying Cat and the man she loves.
Cat and Neena battle in an expert game of cat and mouse. The smartest and most vicious of the women will claim her prize.
Chapters alternate between Cat and Neena. I didn’t like either one of them but was interested in seeing how their game would play out. William is their prize--he comes off as bland and manipulative, and not that smart, but he’s an attractive, powerful, and handsome millionaire, so I guess he’s worth it. I really could have lived without William’s perspective. His chapter took this down a notch for me and revealed another dynamic to this game that I didn’t buy.
This is a fast-paced, page-turner. It's a little over the top but offers a nice break from reality. Overall, I enjoyed this book but would have enjoyed the dynamics of Cat and Neena’s games much more if they banded together to take down the cheater rather than each other.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer in exchange for an honest review.
Overall this is a good, well written book although a bit of a slow starter for me and I didn't particularly find the characters engaging enough to draw me into the story line fully.
Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
I have been reading Ms Torre for years and I especially love it when she writes thrillers and Every Last Secret didn’t disappoint.
Two women, whilst outwardly looking very different , underneath and behind their own personal facades they were the same. Both strong and determined to Be the best and to get what they wanted - whatever the cost.
To be honest both these women didn’t appeal to me and I was happy for whichever path the the Author had decides this story should go. But I was intrigued and this was a page turner, and in usual Torre style clever with the twists.
Highly recommend this one.
A big thanks you to NetGalley, publisher Thomas and Merced and Mr Torre for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
“THERE WERE MEN YOU OWNED
THERE WERE MEN YOU BORROWED
AND, THEN THERE WERE MEN YOU TOOK”
The book opens with a prologue, where Dr. Neena Ryder is being interviewed by a Detective for the attempted murder of her husband, Matt.
So, we know WHERE the book is heading, just not how we are going to get there..
Is she guilty??
If so, what would motivate her to do this?
Could it be the fact that she had always planned to “UPGRADE” from Matt at some point, and the time had come?
Her neighbor and boss, William Winthorpe is the right mark, and she has a well thought out strategy to replace his current wife, Cat.
But, Cat is on to Neena, and she is not about to let a “sociopathic blonde with boundary issues” take what’s hers!
♟Neena has made her move.
♟But, she may have underestimated her opponent!
I devoured Alessandra Torre’s book, “The Ghostwriter” so, I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of her latest and I was not disappointed!
When penning thrillers she uses the pseudonym, A.R Torre.
I LOVE the FUN psychological thrillers that are light on gore, and heavy on betrayal and revenge, so this one was definitely in my lane!!
Originally scheduled Publication date: OCT. 13, 2020 though, I am hearing that it could be pushed back to DEC, as many books have due to Covid 19. Will keep you posted, as this one is worth watching for!!
Thank You to the Publisher and NetGalley for providing a digital copy in exchange for a candid review!
Well, what can I say about this title? When I first started reading I must admit that I rolled my eyes, expecting something like Desperate Housewives or The Real Housewives of Wherever and I almost put it down, but it was a rainy day so I kept going. In the end I couldn't put it down and finished at 3am on a work night!
All the characters were well rounded and we'll thought out. I felt what I was supposed to feel from each perspective, and found myself siding with all of them, but only cared about Matt having a happy ending. William, Cat and Neena really needed a kick up the bum!
The novel was about possessive housewives, affairs, secrets, revenge and retribution. I did figure out who was behind what early on, but didn't mind because I enjoyed watching the pieces fall into place. I also found the ending quite satisfying which I find unusual for this type of read. I will definitely be recommending to my book club once this book hits mainstream.
Thank you for an enjoyable read.
Although I found just about everything about the story a little too far-fetched, it kept me turning the pages. Every single character is unlikable and the psychological stuff that's going on is totally nuts. Good beach read for sure.
The book was a thriller. It had me on the edge of my chair throughout. It was everything I had hoped for. It was exciting, fast paced and very well written. Once you pick this up you really wouldn’t want to put it down.
I don't really know how to rate this. I absolutely hated the first 60% of the book. I just wanted it to be done. Although well written, as all of Ms. Torre's books are, I thought of giving up. There was no redeeming feature in any of the characters, except Matt, who is a lovable putz. Neena was gross and William a pushover. And Cat...for me was just meh. I usually don't read books about wealthy people, as I don't have anything in common with them. I think if Cat was more generous with her money or more modest, less showy with it, I would have liked her, but she wasn't. Then there was the cheating. I hate...HATE cheating. It actually makes me feel sick. I'm no prude, but I skipped the parts of X seduction, because she was just so nasty. I don't like people who think things are deserved to them. No thank you. It was when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, that things started to get interesting, and Cat went from Meh to Meow! Things started to spin into a slightly darker arena and by the end we had reached crazy town, and after all that, it was worth it.
This was an entertaining novel about lies and betrayal. It was a quick read that I couldn't stop reading once I'd started.
The characters were so unlikable but that didn't affect my thoughts on the story; they were actually written quite well.
Overall this book was a great read!
