I found this book to be the perfect combo of simple air-fryer recipes, but also have some more complicated ones if you wanted to push yourself in the kitchen to create something different. Keto and Air Fryer's are all the rage right now, so this is the perfect hard-hitting combo for a cook book!
This book has simple recipes that can easily be made with a few simple ingredients. There is a great variety of options. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Each recipe lists nutritional information including macros. I took of one star because there are not many photos. I received a free copy of this book through netgalley.com.
Air-Fryers are the newest craze in cooking and this cookbook shows how it can be used for the keto diet. There are easy as well as complex recipes to make the most of your air-fryer.
I’m so glad I found this cookbook! I have two keto air fryer cookbooks and neither of them go as in-depth as this one does. In this cookbook, she guides you on how to pick out an air fryer, tips on how to take care of it, provides a chart on how long AND at what temperature to cook various vegetables in, and delivers over 100 appetizing recipes.
The recipes in this cookbook are unique, in the sense that I haven’t seen them before in any other cookbook or online, yet simple enough that I have the majority of the ingredients in my pantry already. I especially found the chart with cooking times for vegetables especially helpful, because sometimes I just want to cook broccoli and not burn it, but don't want to go online and google how to do that on an air fryer. My favorite easy recipe is the garlic steak and the recipe I look forward to making is the mini peanut butter tarts (I’m waiting for my silicone muffin cups to arrive from Amazon).
If you’re like me who just bought an air fryer and still haven’t figured out how to use it yet, this is an excellent resource to start with.
It’s as if this cookbook was written for me! First, I am obsessed with my air fryer and use it multiple times a week; even more now with the warmer weather. Second, I adopted the Ketogenic diet about three months ago and haven’t looked back.
Before receiving the cookbook I had a craving for crab cakes and was looking for a recipe. Wouldn’t you know, I open the Keto Air Fryer cookbook and Wendy has the perfect crab cake recipe. It was quick and delicious!
Wendy Polish’s Keto Air Fryer cookbook has everything you could want and need! I enjoyed how it was broken down into sections and the recipes were easy to follow. I would highly recommend this cookbook for anyone on the Keto diet!
This is a very easy-to-follow collection of recipes with a large breadth and variety. Tips are given for a variety of subjects: from choosing an air fryer, accessories you'll need, how to use it correctly, various substitutions, kid friendly recipes, vegetarian ideas, low ingredient lists, variations, and how best to adapt recipes as needed. In that regard it is very thorough. But there are only a couple of photographs at the beginning; that shortcoming is problematic since using an air fryer yields very different results than conventional cooking methods.
The book breaks down as follows: air frying 101, eggs and brunch, sides and snacks, poultry, seafood, beef, pork, desserts and staples, air fryer charts, measurement conversions and a page with a couple of resources. Recipes include: tzatziki sauce, almond glaze, fish fillets with lemon dill sauce, crab cakes, turkey pot pie, broccoli stuffed chicken, short ribs with chimichurri, down home biscuits, onion rings. and friend pickles. There are many recipes and quite a large variety to choose from when deciding on your next meal.
Each recipe is cleanly laid out: large blue font title with a subtitle that includes prep time, cook time, and fryer temperature. A brief paragraph description of the recipe. Then in highlight yellow the tags of quick, vegetarian, low ingredient, kid friendly, etc.). Ingredients are listed separately in bold type. Then steps are simple numbered sentences, most only 4 lines or so. Below that in its own box are tips. Then finally per serving info (calories, fat, etc.) and fat/protein/carb percentages.
The lack of images (especially since air frying is a bit different type of cooking) makes it hard to justify the title of 'ultimate' cookbook. Fortunately, there are a lot of recipes to choose from and even if you don't know how they will turn out, there's enough to explore. But it is hard to highly rate a cookbook that doesn't show you the end result.
Most recipes have under 6 steps and a surprisingly short amount of steps. The book is ideal for those buying their first air fryer as well as air frying veterans. All recipes have healthy substitutions so you have more creative control over what you serve to your family. Of course, it is important to note that air fryers do not tend to have a large capacity so they are ideal for smaller families. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
I have been doing low-carb for almost two years. I also recently (in the last month) bought an air-fryer so when I saw this book, I couldn't wait to try some of the recipes out. I use my air fryer every single day so I am anxious to incorporate a lot of the recipes in this book into my low-carb way of cooking. I loved the introduction section of this book where the benefits of using an air fryer were explained and also the benefits of a low-carb way of eating. Since I have been doing low-carb for a couple of years, I had a lot of the ingredients on hand that the author discusses in the book. The cover of the cookbook looks inviting & I can't wait to try some more of the recipes. I do wish there were more pictures of some of the food items but overall I loved how the book was laid out & the nutritional facts which accompanies the recipes.
I appreciate the publisher, Rockridge Press & Net Galley, allowing me the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. This is my honest review of the book & I encourage others to read it to learn more about both air fryers & low-carb eating.
There are so many recipes in this book that I would love to make. It's a very nice book and I like the recipes a lot. I wish there were more photos though. There are some great information in the beginning about keto diet and how to use your air fryer. Using air fryer is easy, fast, uses less oil and it's energy efficient!
I got an advance reader's copy of this book complimentary from NetGallery in exchange for my honest review.
The Ultimate Keto Air Fryer Cookbook is a great additional to your arsenal if you are either a) new to the keto diet or b) a new owner of an air fryer. Luckily for me, I am both! We have dabbled with the idea of switching to a keto diet for a few months now, so the timing of receiving this ARC is perfect.
The book opens up with informational tidbits about air fryer models, basic care instructions, and a small overview of the keto diet. The supply list & recommended ingredients to have on hard weren't outrageous. It also isn't overly wordy or technical. In the back of the book is a super handy "air fryer chart" that tells you basic cooking times for various vegetables. Recipes are separated by chapter: Eggs/Brunch, Sides/Snacks, Poultry, Seafood, Beef, Pork, and Deserts/Staples.
While the book itself lacks individual recipe photos, I think the simple nature behind the recipes makes up for that. Is it 100% aesthetically pleasing? Not really. But none of the recipes are complicated and all of them can be made on a busy weeknight. One thing I love the most about this cookbook is the recipes don't require 1000 ingredients. Most of which are readily available in your fridge or pantry already. Others that are specific to a keto diet are easy to find online or in your stores, such as: coconut aminos, alternative sweeteners, and xanthum gum.
So far, I have tried the: radish home fries, fried pickles, and parmesan breaded pork chops. My boyfriend is a HUGE fan of hashbrowns/home fries, so getting him to part with his potatoes is a feat. However, he loved the radish home fries. Even my toddler ate her entire portion. The fried pickles were AMAZING and such a guilt-free treat. The addition of parmesan cheese really enhances the flavor and I found myself not even needing to dip them in ranch. The porkchops came out perfectly and no one in the family noticed there were covered in almond flour. Up next, we are going to try the cinnamon rolls and the pizza dough.
Overall, I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone with an air fryer. Even if you don't subscribe to a keto diet, I guarantee you will love the simplicity of these recipes.
I received this eARC from the publisher and Netgalley (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to the publisher for an ARC to read and give an honest opinion. So I bought an air fryer but even I am not completely sold on the idea that this machine will revolutionize the way we eat. Yes, it’s compact and the variety of recipes in this book are lovely but can I lose weight with a fryer?
What did I like? This book offers a wide variety of recipes even biscuits with gravy... plus bacon wrapped...and plenty of versatile recipes. I’m excited to try such fun and flavorful recipes in the air fryer. So far I’ve only mastered chicken wings...lol.
Would I recommend or buy? I think the keto diet is an amazing thing for people who need to lose weight. I love my air fryer and I hope these recipes will become a staple in my diet. There is a wealth of recipes to get the most out of your air fryer.
Thoughts for the? Congratulations on your new release! Thanks so much for a peek. Loved it!
There were some great recipes in this book. I can’t wait to try some of them out with my new air fryer. Glad all the nutritional facts were included.
It has a nice variety of recipes- some a little more laborous than others. It has a lot of diary ingredients- i know that some people on Keto don't touch diary so that could be an issue. Lack of pictures was a negative for me- i like to see how the recipe is supposed to look when it's done and would've liked to see pictures of the finished product at the very least.
Other than that i enjoyed the book.
