This book shares recipes you can make for your dog, considering a dog's nutritional needs and potential toxins. These are all cooked recipes, so if you're looking to make raw food, look elsewhere. But there are plenty of ideas here to free your dog from Big Kibble and whatever additives they decide to put in, while being safer and healthier than just feeding human food that does not contain the right nutrients.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good meal? I know that I do. If you are reading this book, you have a dog, or dogs, that you love and want to provide a healthy and delicious meal, and that is exactly what you will find within the pages of this book. Also, you can do this in a budget-friendly way. The recipes are great, the directions easy to understand and follow, but one of the best parts of this book is the explanations regarding what vitamins and minerals are beneficial to your dog. Included is information on nutrition for dogs such as protein, carbs, fats and fiber. So if you want to move from processed dog foods to something healthier for your fur baby, check out this book. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to review this book.
Very Informative first of all. Easy, and fun to read in that it didn't drone on and on with blather.
It was concise with the positives and negatives of what dogs need and do not need. Basically, watch your dog, they do speak to you with their whole bodies.
Listing vitamins, minerals, what they do for the body/organs, and everything else your dog needs for nutritional, healthy eating, plus, the foods that contain all these.
The recipes all sound delish, from snacks, to add-ons, to full meals for the pooches. It details how to store and prepare multiple servings. The equipment needed from start to finish is all pretty basic kitchen items most of us have already.
Some recipes are even for both humans and dogs, leaving out all the human goodies, until you portion out your dog's serving(s).
I haven't tried any recipes yet, but I do have a list for my next trip to the grocery store, mainly being, I do not have any wheat flour-super simple item, nothing extravagant or "what the heck is that" items.
Best of all, I know this will help our family eat healthier along with a healthier fur baby.
I received an ARC through NetGalley and am giving my honest opinions freely!

Wow these Are some great sounding foods for dogs. Our last 2 dogs had food sensitivities. One was sensitive to anything with a hoof, the other to most grains. We ended up cooking brown rice, chicken and carrots for years. This book would have given us additional foods that we could have used to vary their diet a little bit. I'm going to make some of these for my current pups.
I received this as an Arc from netgalley.
