While the story started out with a bang and I was intrigued, it quickly fell off from there. The first scenes are exciting and the characters seems likeable but after that the story falls a bit flat and drawn out. the characters are very one dimensional and not relatable or likeable at all. It really made the story a bit difficult to get lost in. Not a bad book, just didn't grip me like i was hoping.

Hannah and her half sister Eden don’t get along. They have nothing in common. Now they have both been given a scholarship to an exclusive private school. Their roommate Rachel seems to have an agenda. Fifty years ago students and a teacher were murdered at the school. Now when more deaths occur, that appear to accidental,is someone recreating the old murders? This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of twists and turns, you weren’t sure who to trust. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I have read many of O'Brien's books and I find they are all set up the same way.

While The Bad Sister was not horrible, it felt as though I had read "a version" of this story many times before. Nothing really new in intrigue, although the writing style is good - makes you feel as though you are part of the story.

Otherwise formulatic book.

The Bad Sister draws you slowly in and before you know it you are in the midst of secrets, lies, murder and betrayal.

Hannah and Eden are half sisters who attend the same college where years ago a series of murders took place 50 years ago.

Is history about to repeat itself ? Who is watching Hannah ? Who can you trust if anyone?

Kevin O'Brien does a masterful job of keeping you guessing and throwing in those curve balls to keep you on your toes! \

I always anxiously await the summer release of a Kevin O’Brien book. I’ve read almost all of his work. While I have enjoyed some more than others, they all have an element of surprise or shock to them that I am not expecting. This new release did not disappoint. I throughly enjoyed it and highly recommend. Thanks so much to publishers and Netgalley for the early release read.

This is the first book I have read from this author, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I was surprised that I really enjoyed it. It was well written and kept me guessing. If you like mysteries and crime thrillers you will want to read to book. Thanks Netgalley and Kensington Books for my ARC.

The Bad Sister by Kevin O'brien. Story starts out with a big bang then slowly pulls together the various characters into the mix. Toss up with who is the bad sister but becomes clear towards the end of the book. Characters are superficial making it hard to relate to them. There isn't the intensity of Mr. O'brien's previous books. A good read all in all.
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Just ok.

I enjoyed Kevin O’Brien’s earlier much more than the last two (both read as early copies). These latest ones just don’t flow or pull you in like his older books.

Thank you #netgalley and #Kensington looks for the eARC.

I liked the plotline of this book but that's about it. Nothing really flowed smoothly and the characters lacked depth and were unlikable. A lot of it just seemed corny.

Hannah and her half sister Eden are far from close, but they are sharing a small home outside Chicago, a home with a very dark history. Fifty years before the home was the site of a sensational murder case. Hannah’s journalism teacher wants information about the girls’sordid past. Ellie knows that a series of present day murders are no coincidence, they are a copycat of the so called Immaculate Conception murders. Too bad no one believes Ellie, too bad Ellie’s own death may be the only thing that convinces the police she’s right
