Loved reading this book. Amazing story and the characters lend to the charm of this book. I would highly recommend this book. You would not be disappointed.
"The bed has thoughts and feelings too"
On one hand this book can teach children to treat their possessions with care. On the other hand, the bed being angry about teeth under the pillow, kids playing in their room, etc...I don't really care for this book too much. I don't think my kids will be reading it.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
What a unique idea. We talk about bedtime stories, but bed is never considered. A cute idea with fun pictures and text.
This is an adorable book from a point of view not many people think about - the bed. It's funny and engaging and I really enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties with my computer, I lost access to the file for this picture book.
Based on the cover and description, I am still looking forward to reading it at some point and gifting it to my niece when she is a little bit older.
I am terribly sorry for not being able to provide proper feedback for this title.
This was a funny and unique story from the beds perspective. We got a lot from what it is like for Bed to live in the room with his kid. I loved how the illustrations and graphics felt layered, it gave a unique visual. A fun story overall.
So cute! We get the bed's side of the story in this sweet tale, perfect for bedtime reading. Being a bed isn't easy- his kid kicks in his sleep, he drools (and isn't always diligent about brushing his teeth before bed), and Bed has stickers stuck all over it's face! And the science experiment food left under Bed? Disgusting! The kid has absolutely no regard for Bed's feelings! The humor and fun illustrations will make this a favorite story, and might get Beds the respect they deserve (one can hope, anyway....).
It was a cute book overall. I liked the illustrations and the overall message of being aware of what you do and how it affects others. I just didn't care for the manner it was presented because my 4 year old started sticking stickers to toys and other objects because he thought it was funny. It was cute; just not the book for us.
For some people, bedtime is the worst time of the day. Have you considered that it might be kind of stressful for Bed too? In this story, Bed explains some of the discomforts this simple piece of furniture goes through every day. Yet Bed remains patient, and will always be there for you.
Beautiful illustrations and humorous text bring a new perspective to bedtime. Ideal as a bedtime story or an anytime story, this book is ideal for emerging readers and can be enjoyed by parents and young people alike. The illustrations are friendly and warm with a touch of amusing and relatable evidence of a kid growing up. I can't wait to put it on my classroom shelf.
Oof! Bed gets hit in the face with a paper airplane. Does Bed like it when you don’t go to sleep? Do you kick them in your sleep? And who wants a stinky sock in the face!? Not Bed. Bed has something to say! This is a hilarious, gorgeously illustrated look with a unique perspective on all the ways kids hang out with their Bed and don’t even know it. It’s charming and so true-to-life, down to the stickers stuck all over Bed’s disgruntled but patient face, that we’ll all feel bad about the discomfort we caused our own Bed growing up, but will know that they loved us and loved being our cozy place to sleep just the same.
Its a very fun and easy to read book. Ma daughter loved hearing from it. I read it a few times for her and some of her friends. It was very good. They really liked it.
This is such a delightful book to read from the prospective of a wiggly child’s bed.
It has bright colorful pictures that captured each detail of the wonderful story.
It became a new nightly favorite with our granddaughter.
(I have enjoyed it each night as much as she has too.)
Thank you to NetGalley for an Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review! I LOVED this book!!!! Really makes you think about what we put our beds through! I have a toddler who gives me A LOT of trouble at bedtime. He hates going to bed, so I cannot wait to read this book to him! I will be recommending this book to others! Thank you again to NetGalley!
This book is adorably cute and I loved it. It really is a laugh-out-loud book which every family should own. Bed's story is just that a bedtime told from the point of view of the bed, and Bed has had enough, there is too much kicking and bouncing and stickers, really stickers?! It was a great portrayal of what a children's bed experiences. I loved the overall plot.
The illustrations throughout also fit the overall theme really well and are bright and detailed and go along great with each text spread. The book has a picture book feel but there is text throughout.
The tale and illustrations don't really have a lesson but it might make kids think more about how they treat their bed if they personify it in the way this book does. I highly recommend this fun and funny read.
I received an electronic ARC from Kids Can Press through NetGalley.
Told from Bed's point of view. Bed has a heart to heart with the boy who sleeps on him. It recites all the complaints from the boy's actions and activities. Plenty of humor in the text and illustrations. Arnaldo captures the scenes from Bed's perspective. Readers will enjoy the action (though the bed never moves) and may relate to some of the activities.
This was a cute story and would be good for a bed time themed story time. I really liked the illustrations!
This is bed's story about his boy. He discusses all the indignities that he goes through such as being jumped on, drooled on, having smelly stuff underneath etc. My granddaughter laughed at some of the antics, as she does those things as well, but overall, this was just an okay read for us. I had to pull out thoughts and ideas after we finished and when I asked if she wanted me to read it again, she asked if she could choose a different story. I thought this would be a good bedtime story, but it did not fit that bill. The illustrations were well done and amusing. Perhaps my grandson, who is a bit older might like it more.
Time for Bed's Story had my 4 year old and I howling with laughter at the hilarious, amazing illustrations. Bed's facial expressions and the pacing of this tale are so very well done, every read through brings a new fit of giggles staring into Bed's scowling face. We immediately called my brother, a librarian, who looked up the title and joined us in raucous laughter as Bed voiced his complaints about his young, careless occupant.
This story is a wonderful bedtime book for young readers with a fun, unique perspective: that of a child's grumpy, well used, much loved, bed. We read A LOT of children's titles in our family and it was extremely refreshing to come across a story that brought a new twist to the bedtime routine and a new way of thinking about things for our 4 year old. This title would make a great gift for children in the 2-7 year old age range.
I thought that this was a nice book to read and it was a great way to tell the story about bed from the bed's point of view. My daughter at the moment is a complete wriggle bum, jumps up and down on the bed, steals covers if she is in with me and is pretty much the boy in the book!
She really enjoyed it and I thought it was well written and a fun read.
It is 4 stars from me for this one – a lovely little read and it has a good underlying story too – highly recommended!
Time for Bed’s Story is a fun read from the perspective of a fed-up bed to a child who always stretches out bedtime.
It makes a great read-aloud with lots of sarcastic and passive-aggressive lines that will get kids laughing. The illustrations are excellent and build on the humor of the story. It will be a great addition to my Bedtime Story Hour repertoire!
