This book's pictures are absolutely adorable. So appealing. The story is cute and rhymes. I think it will keep kids engaged.
This was a really cute little story all about encouraging young children to try new things.
I read the book with my daughter and she loved it and wants to read it again straight after which is the sure sign that it is a hit with her and we have read it most days since too!
I thought that the images were lovely and really suited the book. Sunny the Bunny is a little like my daughter as she is hesitant at times to try new things as she does get a little shy when she is with others.
It is 5 stars from me and my daughter for this one - highly recommended!!
sunny bunny is adorable--the bright colors and rhyming text make it the perfect bedtime read aloud to your own snuggle bunnies.
Sunny the Bunny is a cute story told in a poetry-style format with lots of rhyming words. Sunny is nervous about camp but ends up having a great time and making friends. This would be a perfect story to read with your kiddo before they head off to camp.
Sunny Bunny was scared to try something new but when she went to camp, she got to try lots of new things and learned that can be fun to do new things. There were a few places that the text didn't flow so I wonder if the ebook got out of order. Overall cute story and illustrations..
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.
This was a great bedtime story. Given the time of a pandemic it was difficult to read with my children who would love to have gone to a camp, but are unable to do so. The illustrations were very sweet and younger readers happily pointed out the animals. Because there is a lot of rhyming, it is great for Early English Language Learners.
Rhyming text rhythm is off sometimes. Not sure what age the intended audience is: vocabulary is a lot higher than the story and the artwork.
What a sweet little book. Sunny Bunny is afraid of trying new things, but Sunny Bunny is scheduled to go to camp. Oh my! What will she do? There will be all kinds of new adventures, new people she does not know - what will she do? Well, she makes some new friends, she tries several new things and when camp is over, she's not ready to go home, and already making plans to do it again next year. This would be a great book to read to young children who are reluctant to try new things. Written and illustrated by a couple of high schoolers makes this book even more meaningful.
This is a cute friendship story. It was portrayed by animals but when you actually look at them, you'll think that it felt like human friendship. It was a good story for kids that can help them not to fear making friends and making them imagine how wonderful it is to have friends. The illustrations are good and colorful but I like the story better. It's a really fun story to read.
Thank you NetGalley and Greenleaf Book Group for gifting me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book will definitely help kids to understand that new things can be fun and enjoyable and that they shouldn’t be afraid to try them. The story is cute, but doesn’t flow as well as I would like it too, as some of the rhymes trip me up when I’m reading. I’d probably recommend this for 4-5 year olds as some of the words are bigger (like queasy and rappel) and it is a bit on the longer side, so I’m not sure younger kids would sit through the whole thing. The illustrations are simple, but still cute and fun.
Sunny, a refugee from "Pat the Bunny" gets sent away for the summer so her parents can try to repair their fragile marriage. Because the story takes place in the Animal-Kingdom, there seems to be nary an adult animal or otherwise around. The kids are on their own keeping it real and learning all those life lessons that we all learned when we were dropped in the woods and expected to survive "Lord of the Flies' style. Sunny does certainly look cute in her pink ribbon, which unbeknownst to her pals contains a swiss-army knife assortment of camping tools that gives her the inner strength to soldier on through the rest of the summer. Not to worry, Sunny's bunny parents find a really excellent marriage counselor and manage to put their years of simmering animosity on the back burner long enough to give sunny PTSD about her childhood even though she does end up writing a tell-all about her experience with Panda who ends up married to pop superstar Taylor Swift.
I tell you, kids' books are sure getting very complicated these days.
Highly recommended for the great illustrations and the obligatory animals in tutus scene.
A sweet little book about going to camp for the first time. As a parent with a child going off to to camp for the first time, I looked everywhere for books that he could relate too. This would have been perfect! It's scary being away from home for the first time and facing the unknowns. Sunny shows the reader how fun it can be to try new things and meet new friends.
This is such an adorable book. Like many of us Sunny the Bunny was also afraid of trying new things. She felt queasy when her mom signed her up for the summer camp. At the camp, first, she missed her parents but later on, she enjoyed every bit of it and made new friends. There were little messages for children like one should wear a life vest when sailing and seat belt while riding in the car for safety. The colourful illustrations made the book even more adorable. This book would be a perfect start for all the children.

This book was so cute and inspiring to see creatively expressing a common fear, going to summer camp for the first time and the fear of fitting in and making friends. Sunny however was scared at first but until she arrived and stepped off the bus and heard the cheers from the other campers and counselors that broke the ice and she still opened up and made new friends and even participated in the talent show. The drawings were so brilliantly done and adorable. I know a lot of our young readers will love this book and will want to read it to our friends.
We will consider adding this title to our Picture Book Collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
Sunny the Bunny Goes to Camp is a cute little story about Sunny who is nervous about new experiences but goes to camp and has a great time. The entire book rhymes, so it's a good book to use for phonemic awareness, and the illustrations are really cute. I'd recommend this for older Preschoolers who are nervous about starting new activities or going new places, but it's a little long for younger children and I'm not sure it would hold their attention.
I don’t know how the authors did it, but they were able to express pretty much everything a kid would feel at their first week of overnight camp. The story is light, breezy, and rhymes. This is one book a parent wouldn’t mind reading aloud and while at the same time enjoying it. Very well done!
This book will tug at your emotions, Sunny the Bunny shares fears that many kids feel when they go away, either to camp or somewhere else. The nice thing about this title,is the way it shares the little things, like I sat in the back and ate a snack. Kids can relate to to and be helped by the commonness of the day. I liked the story and the rhyming. It will be a great book to share for story times and one I think parents will have to read over and over!
Thank you Greenleaf Book Group & NetGalley for the a chance to review this book.
A very cute story about trying new things and going to summer camp for the first time. The art style was very cute and the story was sweet. I really enjoyed this book and think lots of kids would like it!
A great book for beginning readers. Clear and colorful pictures add to the fun of the book. Simple and straightforward words and ideas help developing readers with their confidence.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for an ARC. All opinions are my own.
This is such a sweet book that touches on the anxiety and nervousness that transpires that one experiences as a child on the way to something unfamiliar. Readers get to meet Sunny the bunny, an adorable character who is timid and sweet. She is scared about the unknown land at summer camp, but soon finds thrill and friendships await her. I love this book as a great read for elementary students. Wonderfully written by young authors!!
