Slaying the Giant of Fear is a book for Christians about the tools we need, and those God has given us, in order to charge ahead and through fear. This book is especially useful for people amid a hard time in life who need to know how to reach out and trust God with it. I also think this is a good starting point for people wanting to read more Christian-based self-help.

Some great things about this:
- Lots of references to scripture
- Focus on a particular biblical story throughout the book
- Provides a faithful toolbox for slaying the giant of fear

I do wish there had been a few more practical suggestions, although the book tried to use parables to try to explain certain concepts, such as stewardship. The book also contained lots of personal stories and examples. I also think it may not be the best starting place for Christians who suffer from mental health issues such as chronic anxiety. There may be other resources for ways to pray through anxiety or such, instead of just general struggles that life throws at everyone.

Overall, a standard Christian book, but an easy and fast read that could provide lasting value to some.
