I really enjoyed reading this book. A story of coming to America for the American dream. In this case a very successful endeavor and wonderfully told. You will fall in love with each character, the town of Chelan, Washington, and wine! How do you rescue your fathers empire, without loosing yourself, or the most important thing in the world to him, his vineyard. Setting aside your life to take care of family no matter what needs to be done, and at all cost. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pre-read this great summer read. Fall in love with this story as you relax with a glass of wine. Enjoy!

This book made me feel such a bizarre range of emotions, first I went from struggling to actually get into the book, at first I was slightly lost between characters, I felt I couldn't differentiate between which character was speaking, however once I had settled in I found I was completely hooked and I ended up reading the entirety in one evening.

I absolutely love the female lead 'Carmen' she is incredibly sassy and as plenty of fire in her belly along with a fair amount of stubbornness and resilience. After discovering her families business and her Father's pride and joy is in danger she returns home to Chelan, although she has grown up on the vineyard she hadn't learnt as much as you would think for someone who had spent the majority of her life there with a parents that were so passionate about they do. She quickly discovers her love for Blue Hills and makes it her mission to save her Father's land from being sold to the latest 'Big Shot' in town.

The story is about friendship, family, love, romance and never giving up. The way Ellyn Oaksmith describes the location is so perfect that you can imagine yourself being there, from the description of the vine fields, the lake, orchard house along with wonderful descriptions of the characters that you can instantly warm to. It is a , perfect along with a glass of wine in the late evening sun. I eagerly anticipate the next Ellyn Oaksmith's next book.

This is the first time I have read this author. I really enjoyed it. Carmen was determined for her Dad not to sell the Vineyard. She engaged the help of her Dad and her sisters to do this She even got over on Evan a few times, especially with the weddings. To find out how things turned out you should read the story as it A GOOD READ.

This was my first Ellyn Oaksmith read and I am hooked. Give me more any time of the day and I’ll curl up on my sofa with a massive glass of wine and a smile on my face, devouring another story.Summer at Orchard House will make you roll over laughing and it will make you cry as well. I have to admit that this book reminded me that unexpected things are always guiding us on a path we never imagined existed and also that it’s never too late to start over. Ellyn Oaksmith created Orchard House in such detail that I could just close my eyes and imagine myself on the vineyard sipping that wine and wondering around the house from room to room, discovering a family history that means so much for the Alvarez’s.
The strong connection between the sisters, their unconditional love for their father and their determination to stick together and save the winery are amazing and the romantic tension between the two main characters, Carmen and Evan is just charming. I smiled as they got together and I wept every time they pushed each other away, always hoping that love will win in the end.

Summer at Orchard House is the perfect lockdown read.

This is a beautiful book, full of passion and deep feelings. I enjoyed the rivalry of the main characters, a great enemies to friends arc that ended very nicely. In my head they were going to share the vineyard, but maybe that's going to be in Book 2!

Carmen leaves behind her life in Seattle to help save the family vineyard and quickly meets their neighbor, and vineyard rival, Evan. There is an instant attraction, but since Evan is trying to convince Carmen's father to see the vineyard to him Carmen treats him as an enemy. I loved this book. I love an enemies-to-lovers romance novel, but this one was more of a enemies/neighbors/sort-of-friends to lovers books. I loved reading about Carmen's family, her father's struggles to start a vineyard, and Evan's lonely childhood. And there's a dramatic twist towards the end that I really loved.

A great story about family.Carmen goes home to help her father to the vineyard where she grew up. She finds that her father had not been able to keep the vineyard up the way he had in past years. She decides th stay and help him but is afraid she is to late. The vineyard next door has been bought by Evan Hollister. He is trying to buy her father's vineyard as it is an award winning vineyard. She thinks Evan is spoiled, arrogant, very entitled. As time goes by she finds she is up againstalot. The bank wants their money, they have lost all their help do to money being short. She doesn't want her father to loose everything he has worked for. A neighbors disagreement between Carmen and Evan will go from one disaster to another.Will Carmen find the family in her families friends when she needs it ? Will fears cause Carmen and Evan to work together ? Will love be found where they each take a hard look at the person the other is ? Thank you Net Galley for letting me read and review this book.

What a great read and new author for me. I love reading about books themed in wineries. Carmen and her sisters come back to help there father with their vineyard.

This was a nice, light beach read. You will learn quite a bit about vines and wine making. There is a slow burn romance happening with lots of drama and humor.
This is my first book by author Ellyn Oaksmith and I rather enjoyed her style of writing. I am looking forward to reading more from her.
