Too much jumping around

Mr. Marcus tells us the story of a spy or secret agent who is traveling on a Caribbean cruise using the alias Scott Remington. Mr. Remington considers himself to have retired from his clandestine work, whatever it was, and is trying to relax. Unfortunately he is beset. By day he has, rather inexplicably annoyed the team of thugs guarding Eve and Eme, mother and 10 year old daughter accompanying Grandma the Dragon Lady and they have decided to kill him (a bit of an over-reaction, I think). By night he is terrified by gruesome dreams of ancient death and destruction that seems to be about him. These dreams skip across centuries, always centered on Scott and his family.

I didn't like the dream sequences and all the skipping around, and I thought the "let's kill Mr. Remington" plot unlikely. So I didn't finish.
