I loved this one so much! Lana was a character I wanted to get to know more, she is smart and sensitive. She is making waves and wants people to understand her better. Rick is sweet, kind and a giant. I loved getting to know town of Moose Springs better and this was just an amazing read!

I have not read the first book in The Tourist Attraction series but I don’t think I missed out not reading it to move through this story (however, I will be going back and reading the first based off of other reviews, I might be missing out). Lana tries so hard to bring life into a small town in Alaska but the town folk are not having it. Rick is smitten and ties to catch Lana’s eye by helping her out in finding the Santa Moose. This is a cute little romance with Lana and Rick working through their issues together and finding their path.

I enjoyed this book way more than the first in the series (The Tourist Attraction). I had some issues with TTA because of some lack of cultural sensitivity and issues with the hero. I was a little leery about Mistletoe and Mr. Right because I didn't love Lana in book one, but I was pleasantly surprised!

Lana Montgomery bought the town of Moose Springs, must to the dismay of her family and the town residents. In order to help the town the way she wants to, Lana must get the residents on her side, fight off turmoil in her family's corporation, and work with handsome Rick Harding to try and catch the nefarious Santa Moose!

Rick is where this book is at. This dude tries hard at literally everything - he is doing the most, he is lonely af, and he is a sweet, sad, cinnamon role. I love the way he cares for everyone around him, sometimes to the detriment of himself. I like Lana a lot more in this book because we got more backstory of why she is like she is and what she is hiding. The intense loneliness that both Lana and Rick faced gave a tinge of sadness to this story that I liked. What the being said, the storyline is slow, their romance is extremely closed door (like to the point when I wasn't sure when they hooked up and when they just made out), and I wish the Santa Moose was more integral to the story.

If you like a closed door romance that tends to lean more women's fiction and is set in literally a perfectly adorable town, check this one out!

I was not able to finish the book before it was archived, however, I was thoroughly enjoying myself with this one. It was cute and fast-paced, exactly what I want in a Christmas romance. I will be buying it on my own to finish it.

While I enjoyed the weird charm of The Tourist Attraction, I feel like I connected so much more with this second book. I wasn't sure whether I would like Lana at the end of book one as she seemed a bit of an aloof friend, but this showed me that there's so much more to her than meets the eye. Was her character a bit of a "not like other rich girls" cliche at times? Maybe, but that really didn't make me enjoy this story any less!

Although Lana and Rick lead completely different lives, they fit so well together and I was 100% rooting for their romance. I really identified with both of them, especially their feelings of loneliness, and it made me love this story even more. Lana was the go-getter, take-no-prisoners powerhouse in their relationship, but while she may come off as this unwaveringly strong businesswoman, all she really wanted was something real; a place to call home and someone she didn't have to be invincible for all the time. She tried so hard to do what was best for everyone in this book and there's no doubting her heart was in the right place. Rick was an interesting character because he was the "soft" one of the two. He's very shy and how he reacted around Lana was so endearing. Plus, there's really something about guys who adore their pets and aren't shy about how much they love them! The scenes where Rick talks to and takes care of Darla (his hedgehog) and Roger (his super grumpy weird cat) were just… swoon. If I wasn't already sold on Rick, I'd have been a goner after that! It was so adorable and made me all mushy 😍

We learn more about Moose Springs, Alaska in this book and while I loved seeing more of Alaska, it was so difficult to love the townspeople of Moose Springs when they treated Lana the way they did. I mean, I get it to a point, but I really felt for her because she tried so hard and nothing got through to them. I still loved the main group of friends though--Easton (squee), Ash, Graham, Zoey, and even Diego and Quinn! We get to see different sides to these characters but I'm beyond excited for Easton's story in particular! He's my favourite 😍 One character that I was surprised to really like in this book was Killian (not polo Killian). You can say I'm intrigued by his character and I'm kind of hoping he gets his own book?

There were quite a few hilarious moments that had me laughing-out-loud, especially their first official date which was beyond creepy and also hilarious 😂, but it was also a bit more serious than the first book. Plus, the romance was also slower and more mature. Like the first book though, this didn't have explicit steamy scenes so I'd recommend it if you don't like sex scenes in romance!

TL;DR: I loved Mistletoe & Mr. Right! Lana and Rick's romance was mature and developed naturally. Their love and support for each other was heartwarming and I really identified with both of them. Their arcs were great on their own but together they were even better and they both really deserved their HEA. This was another laugh-out-loud rom-com that had festive snowy and Christmas vibes that is just perfect for the holidays. I would definitely recommend this for those who love a feel-good romance with lovable and realistic characters to root for and even more stories in a series to look forward to 😉

The first book in this series by Morgenthaler was super cute, so I was excited to read the next offering. This book has all the right stuff when it comes to setting and secondary characters! I really enjoyed this rom-com, but it wasn't as fresh as I was expecting.

I did not fall into this book as easily as I did Tourist Attraction. The town is great. I love the Alaskan setting, but the story just fell flat for me. It moved slower and I was much less engaged. Easton is always on my radar though and will keep my eye out for his story!

The Tourist Attraction is one of my favorite reads so far in 2020. It’s the best kind of fluff – it made me smile nonstop, laugh out loud at times, and I had an epic book hangover after I finished. I was a bit apprehensive reading Mistletoe and Mr. Right at first, because I was terrified I would compare it to The Tourist Attraction at every page. Well, did I end up comparing both books? Of course I did, and here’s my verdict – Mistletoe and Mr. Right is a fun, easy read, and a strong sequel to The Tourist Attraction! Second book syndrome who?

Mistletoe and Mr Right picks up a year after the events of The Tourist Attraction – our heroine, Lana, is fresh off buying most of the businesses in town, and she still hasn’t endeared herself to the townspeople of Moose Springs. Desperate for their friendship and approval, Lana embarks on a quest to catch the Santa Moose, a moose who destroys all of the town’s Christmas decorations every Christmas. She enlists the help of her best friend Zoey (also the heroine of the first book), and now Lana juggles overseeing the building of a new condominium with catching a moose that not even the most skilled tracker in Moose Spring can catch.

We met Lana in The Tourist Attraction, but we barely got to know her. We only saw Lana through Zoey’s eyes, but I have to say that she’s the character in this world that intrigues me the most, and I was so excited to have her as a main character. I love peeling back Lana’s layers – she’s more than her bank account, and it broke my heart to see her try so hard to win the townspeople’s friendship. I loved the scenes with Lana and Zoey, and seeing how much Lana treasures Zoey. We also get to see all the pressure Lana has on her shoulders with her family not so thrilled with her business plans in Moose Springs, and the pressure she feels as the heir apparent of a business empire. Lana is strong and confident, and I could not get enough of her!

I’m not going to lie – I was not expecting Rick to be Lana’s love interest! Rick is the owner of a business that caters to Moose Springs locals, and like all Moose Springs locals, Rick is not a fan of the tourists… except Lana. Rick has been through a lot – his wife left him, and he’s also raising his nephew whose family was killed by drunk tourists. With his business not performing well (meaning he owes rent money to Lana) and him not communicating with his nephew, Rick is stressed, to say the least. He also hasn’t been out with women since his ex-wife left, and it was great seeing him face his fears and gather the courage to ask Lana out, who he has liked for a while.

Lana and Rick’s relationship development is very slow burn. Despite running into each other for years, they don’t really know each other, and I enjoyed watching them slowly fall in love. They do have serious issues to tackle before they can pursue a serious relationship, and I love how everything was tackled. There was a strong emphasis in Lana and Rick choosing to face their issues and to fight for their love, which is always a plus in any romance story.

All in all, I’m so happy with this sequel! It’s so atmospheric, and it’s the perfect light, comforting read. Also, I was so hooked in Lana and Rick’s relationship that I almost forgot about the Santa Moose!

The perfect winter read to curl up on the sofa with. Cosy, warm, romantic with a reminder to not forget the simple things in life.

I read the first book by Sarah Morgenthaler and absolutely loved the story between Zoey and Graham and the city of Moose Springs that I was so excited to continue the story between Lana & Rick. Unfortunately, this book didn’t do it for me. I appreciate the cohesiveness of the characters, but I was so bored between the story of Lana (typical super wealthy rich girl with an independent-I can do it all on my own mentality looking for the right person) and Rick (super hot guy who has been left by an ex and is such an upstanding person he is still single!). Some parts of the story didn’t feel natural to me- I felt like it was a way to add to the story because you know in the end they will end up together. I give this a 3 star.

The Tourist Attraction was a book I absolutely LOVED, and getting to chat with the author after reading it with @thechicklitbookclub on bookstagram was one of the bookish highlights for me so far this year. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of book 2, Mistletoe & Mr. Right thanks to Netgalley & Sourcebooks and I could not have been more excited!

Heading back to Moose Springs, I had really high expectations after falling so hard for Graham & Zoey in book 1, and while I enjoyed getting to know Lana and Rick more, I felt like it didn’t quite have that star quality for me. I’m glad I got to buddy read it with a few girlfriends and discuss what we loved, what was different than The Tourist Attraction because it made it even more fun, I know I'll be recommending this one for the rest of the year!

Rick & Lana were just different, and I liked that their differences helped them grow together, and how the author showed her struggle to become a part of the incredible Moose Springs community. Morgenthaler has such an easy to read writing style that makes me want to devour her books in a single sitting, I just love it!

Overall, it was still a book I really enjoyed, and now I am anxiously waiting for book 3 all about Easton!

I didn't love this as much of the first but it's still fun. Zoey and Graham make plenty of appearances and there's a nice backstory to Zoey tied in. This could be read as a standalone but would recommend reading The Tourist Attraction first. There were some fun scenes involving taxidermist squirrels, Santa Moose, and cute scenes around town in general. This read slower and took a bit longer to get through than other books in this genre, but it is still a cute, fun, holiday read.

I requested this book because I had seen so much about the first book in this series I did decide to read the first book ,which was a bit of a disappointment so I almost didn’t read this one .

I am glad I read Mistletoe and Mr Right though - it was fun and sad at times and romantic and I enjoyed the story of Lara and Rick.

Although the use of “dear and “dearest” in this book almost put me off of it. Thankfully, the story and the rest of the writing was good enough to keep me going.

This was just like reading one of those Hallmark Christmas movies. It's pretty predictable, but it's cute and sometimes you need to avoid reality for a few hours and escape to a place where romance wins and even the "evil" corporate employees really aren't that bad.

The Title/Cover Draw:
Simplistic Christmasy vibes really drew me in. I didn’t know this was part of a trilogy! Must go back and read Tourist Attraction.
What I liked:
It’s a story about community, with memorable characters. But it’s also about love and heartache.
What I didn’t like:
Sometimes it lagged at times with the character’s internal monologue. The same thoughts were presented quite often.
What kept me reading:
Would they catch the Santa Moose and save the town?
The Characters:
Lana and Rick (the main characters) were so sweet. Where Lana was strong, Rick was tenderhearted. There was complexity in all the characters. I especially loved Zoey, Lana’s best friend. And let’s not forget the parade of festively dressed animals.
The Ending:
A lot happens in the epilogue so don’t stop reading!

Renee Zellweger movie New in Town meets Christmas Inheritance (a good holiday movie on Netflix!)

With nothing in common except the hunt for an elusive Santa Moose, a stray tranquilliser dart and several disastrous dates, does their holiday fling stand the chance to develop into something deeper? Or will the threat of Lana's imminent departure ruin their relationship before it even has a chance to start?

There is a lot to love in this follow up to The Tourist Attraction. It's a funny, yet heart-warming romantic story set in the wonderful town of Moose Springs. All the characters from the previous book are back and they are as quirky and hilarious as you remember them. Graham and Zoe even have some pretty important scenes in this book so if you were a fan of their romance you'll love the small snippets of their ongoing relationship in this one.

This time round though the focus is on Lana and Rick. Lana is the woman who, last book, it was revealed had bought the town of Moose Springs to save it from itself. Unfortunately the town does not appreciate her efforts and the majority of this book is about Lana trying to bring them around and the Moose Springs residents resisting her efforts--except for the sweet and loving Rick.

We didn't see much of Rick in the first book so it was lovely getting to know him more in this one. We meet him and his adorable pet sidekicks, his grouchy nephew Diego, and learn about his struggles with his pool hall and making ends meet.

I loved their opposites-attract romance. Lana is very much the businesswoman, but she's one who wears her heart on her sleeve. All she wants is to belong and it was heart-breaking at times to see her rebuffed by the town. Reading about her and Rick becoming closer was very satisfying, he was the home she needed and she was the steady rock he could depend on. They made for a wonderful couple and, honestly, their dates were some of the most hilarious scenes I've read in a while.

All in all, a brilliant sequel and return to the town of Moose Springs, this was just as funny and sweet as the first one, bringing all the laughs and heart-warming scenes to make you smile and sigh in delight. Sign me up the next book which features Easton, the mountain man! And then after that I'll be sat twiddling my thumbs and hoping and praying for a book 4 (because I NEED A KILLIAN BOOK *ahem*).

If you want to get into the holiday spirit and take a trip to a small town in Alaska then Mistletoe and Mr. Right is the story for you! It is the second book in Sarah Morgenthaler’s series and focuses on Lana Montgomery and her slow starting romance with one of the town’s locals. I will say that this book had a very slow start for me and it wasn’t until half way through the book that I found the story started to pick up and get interesting. If you can deal with in depth details and a slow paced romance story then definitely add this one to your TBR pile ASAP. I will say that out of both books so far I prefer the first story over this one but that’s just my personal opinion.

This book was super cute! I loved the atmosphere and could visualize the town perfectly! I didn’t read the first book but I don’t think that affects reading this as a stand alone! I plan to go back and read the first one just to see how we got here but it’s definitely not required in a sequel way.

I enjoyed this slow-burn romantic comedy with great characters and funny moments. I mean, from the first paragraph you just start bursting into laughter because that’s a catchy introduction to a new book.
It’s a well-written novel with characters that made appearances in the previous book, it has a lot of interesting moments about life and how the family dynamics can change at any point in one’s life. I can’t say that I’ve got to love them both but I felt for Rick and Lana’s way of finding love throughout the story, overcoming their past and looking forward to a future together.
If you are looking for a good holidays romance, this is the book for you.
