Smokin' Hot Cowboy Christmas is the seventh book in Kim Redford’s Smokin’ Hot Cowboys and probably my least favourite to date. The storyline is well-paced and the characters are engaging and likable, but the romance was lacking the sizzling chemistry that I come to expect from these stories, and therefore left me unconvinced about the relationship between the primary couple. This is just my personal opinion, and other readers may find the story satisfactory and to their liking.

This was a sweet story, it didn’t set me on fire and it was very predictable but it was a good solid read. The character of Belle was unbelievable, there is no way a savvy business woman would just throw her knickers off for a man she didn’t even know his surname. The additional story line of the bull and cow was ridicucilous too.

Belle can't figure out why all the renovations to her new ranch- where she plans to locate her business-keep not happening. Why are contractors walking off the job? She wants to throw a Christmas party to show it off but that's not going to happen unless something changes. Enter Rowdy, who has been enlisted by the people of Wildcat Bluff to keep stalling. Why don't they want Belle to succeed? Rowdy gets to know her (it's a romance, after all) and then helps her. And gets the town to change their collective minds. I liked the relationship between Rowdy and Belle but geez the other people.....Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun read.

This was so fun! Cowboys, Christmas and romance! Belle and Rowdy are great leads and so fun. A great romance and a lovely Christmas story.

In the last Christmas story by this author I thought the little girl, Storm, was super cute. This time I find that I do not like her character at all. She comes off as a spoiled rotten child who needs to be put in her place.
That's the only thing that I disliked in, Smokin' Hot Cowboy Christmas. It's a great Christmas story with a twisted love story thrown in.

This is the seventh book in the series and the first one I have read by this author. This book can stand alone. The story and the writing are good, and it is a cowboy holiday romance, with some side giggles.

Writing the review for this book has been hard because I just could not connect with the characters. The town vs the outsider is a little too bullyish for me and very distracting.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinions.

This is my first book by Kim Redford; maybe I should have read the other books in this series in order for it to make ANY sense to me at all. The writing wasn't bad in the book, but the characters (besides the main character, Belle) are TERRIBLE people. Belle moves to a new town taking over a ranch. She plans to make the ranch the headquarters for her cowgirl clothing business. Little does she know, the ENTIRE town has agreed to deceive her and prevent her from getting all her repairs on her house done before a party she plans to throw at Christmas - all because they decided up front they don't want her in their town. Every contractor she hires simply abandons the job and doesn't come back. She moves from contractor to contractor, but she doesn't bring in contractors from Dallas because she wants the small town to like her by using local people. Yeah, right - she cares so much about their feelings, but they care absolutely NOTHING about her. Well, the last guy to help her deceives her with a fake name because he knows her brothers from firefighting school. Needless to say, Belle and Bert / Rowdy fall madly in love but he still carries on with the deception. Belle is so sweet to everyone in town and they all treat her like dirt. When she has reached her final straw and is about to move back to East Texas, the town suddenly loves her and she's just supposed to forgive them all. I just can't get past the way they all treated her so poorly and then suddenly they like her enough for everyone in the town to come put a new roof on her house. If that's the way these town people act, they don't deserve the likes of Belle and she would be better off going to another town to find genuine people. The deception by this town really irked me and I just can't move beyond it - they treated her terribly while she was the absolute sweetest person in the world to all of them.

I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions above are mine without biases.

Some things just aren’t adding up in Wildcat Bluff County. Miss Belle, proprietor of the Lullabelle & You clothing line has move to town to renovate a local ranch to use to use as a dude ranch. The locals will have none of it so workers keep quitting and materials are stolen. Then the locals send Rowdy to keep up just enough work that she doesn’t call down the Dallas boys to finish it up. And Boy, Howdy is Rowdy on that slow down job. But Rowdy, actually a well known and respected rancher’s son, is also the cowboy poet and his heart is starting to get as tangled up in Belle as his new cowboy love poem. Now add in a wacky storyline of the search for a missing cow who is the girlfriend of the famous local bull and the local fairy godmother magic and homing pigeons come to roost.
This Christmas tale is a winner. I would recommend this book to my patrons.

Belle is trying to fix up a ranch for an creative kid dude ranch site. Trying to fix up with local construction work she hits road blocks. Finally Rowdy shows up, and unbeknown to her he is tasked with stopping her. Locals have gotten together to stop her. Would recommend this book and author.
