An enjoyable novel set in Scotland about a laid off librarian finding joy, happiness, and love by fulfilling her fantasy of owning a bookstore in an old van. She visits remote villages to bring the joy of reading to an open and accepting community.

The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan is a sweet story with likable characters. I like the book because it had some romance and a happy ending.

I have a new author to add to my favorites list! I adored this sweet book and devoured it in two days. It was a sweet romance story about a woman who takes a risk to fulfill her lifelong dream of selling books. I loved the descriptions of the setting, and the characters were funny and relateable. I see that this is the first book in a series, and I can't wait to read the rest.

MC Nina loves her job as a librarian until she lost it. She decides to move to a small village and has a wonderful idea of transforming her van into a bookmobile. Nina has such heart & soul, very likable, you just want good things to happen for her. It’s a fun, entertaining, and easy read! Thank you to Book Club Girl, William Morrow, and NetGalley for this ebook copy. This is my honest review.

I won this book from the Book Club Girls via Netgalley and it was so much fun to read. It had elements that are always a treat for me: books and bookshops, libraries and librarians, Scotland, and anything that remotely hints of "Pride and Prejudice". I was hoping it was going to about 50 pages longer, though, as I wanted to know what happened to some of the other characters.

The Bookshop on the Corner is a story of starting over and finally finding your place in the world. Nina Redmond is a big city librarian who loves placing books in the right person's hands. In the new world of technology, Nina's job is no more and the books are pulled from the shelves. At wit end's, Nina finds the nerve to start over, chasing her dreams of a mobile bookstore in a new country. A little bit romance and a little bit of self discovery, Nina's tale brings smiles and joy as you follow Nina to the person and the place she is supposed to be. This is a feel good story that leaves you lighter than when it found you. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

The Bookshop on the Corner, was the first book I’ve read by Jenny Colgan. It was a sweet and funny story about a girl who loses her job with the library and decides to buy an old bus and turn it into a traveling bookstore. This was a quick read and I loved all the characters, would definitely recommend this book.

"Because everyday with a book is slightly better than one without…"
Nina is a librarian in Birmingham, England who has become redundant. Facing the grim prospect of unemployment she halfheartedly begins a job search but on a whim decides to investigate her dream of a mobile bookshop. Making her dream come true will mean moving to the Scottish Highlands and risking everything. But, she discovers, she doesn't have to do it alone.
A lovely feel good story, perfect for when you need a lift..

This is a lovely little romance that makes me feel as if I were in Scotland again myself. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. It is a book that makes you want to cuddle up on the couch with a cup of tea. With everything that is happening with this global pandemic, it whisks you away with a great escape into a feel-good story.
