First of all a big thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.

This was a cute story and I loved the mental health rep. I really enjoyed the two main characters as well as the relationship between them. I also loved the female friendships in this one.

I loved Josie and Brinn’s story. As with the series what starts as no strings turns to more. Each character has personal struggles to overcome and decisions to make for themselves. But they can’t deny their draw to each other and their chemistry. I love their banter. Looking forward to more from this series.

Great story. Lots of funny moments mixed with some very serious subjects. New friendships, new work, new love, new life. Motto of this story : At some point in life, you need to put down your luggage and enjoy the people and the life you live.

Looking forward to reading the other novels of this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Vintage Housewife Books for an ARC.

3.75 Stars!

This review is long overdue, mostly because I was unable to make up my mind about it. To be honest, I am still not sure but I am going to give it a try.

So, I liked the character of Josie a lot. Yes, she had a lot to figure out for herself and she was a drifter but I liked the fact that in the beginning it was shown that she was a no-nonsense girl. And I need to read books about more such characters. The other thing that I liked about this book was how it covered a range of things - starting from discussion about schizophrenia. Now, I have read a few books talking about mental disorders briefly and no doubt even here we had talk about it briefly. But what I liked about it is how the story was connected around it, it didn't feel as if it was a last attempt by the author to talk about something serious and important. Also we had discussions about adverse childhood experience which made the book more sensible and approachable for me.

Now coming to the romance, I hate to admit this but I wasn't a big fan of Brinn and Josie. As much as I liked their character individually, I didn't appreciate them that much when they were together. I don't know how to put this but Brinn was a bit obnoxious for my taste. But apart from that, I did enjoy reading this book!

This one is a great rollercoaster read. All the romance and summer vibes make this another great beach read. Brin and Josie's couldn't be more different but as you know opposites attract. But when things go rough will Josie yet again run away? I loved the story of all the family drama, the girlfriends, the funny side. But also a book has a deeper side that shows us that even when life goes rough with the right people by your side everything is possible.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Josie has left her boring and staid life behind, constrained by her family’s expectations, she’s hit the road to try to locate her older brother Will and find out why he left her behind. She finally has the clue that he’s in Florida so walks out of her current life heading for the sunshine state. On the way she bumps into Brinn, who is incredibly hot but also much too buttoned up to be her type. But fate has other ideas and Josie finds herself working as a temp at his business and proceeds to turn the place around like a modern day Mary Poppins. Loved this story and was yearning for Josie to make it all work. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really liked The Girl He Needs. The first book in a very good series that was a fun read but with some serious notes, such as mental illness and Hurricane devastation. I thought Josie was amazing, she is strong and resilient also very likable and loads of fun. Brinn is a true man with a big heart. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to book #2 The Girl He Knows.

I give The Girl He Needs 4 stars for its Romantic read.
I would recommend this book to Romance Fans.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the chemistry that Brinn and Josie had, and liked watching their relationship develop into something with more substance over the period of time that they worked (and played) together. They were complete opposites, and while they complemented one another in many ways, I found Brinn to be the character that I could really admire. Yes, he needed to loosen up a bit, but his work ethic, stability, and selflessness drew me in from the start. Everyone who knew him seemed to know that he was trustworthy and that they could count on him. I’ve always been a sucker for the strong silent type too, so there’s that.

Josie, on the other hand, was “free-spirited,” flitted from one job to another, one city to another, one relationship to another, leaving whenever things became difficult or uncomfortable, never staying anywhere long enough to develop any meaningful relationships. The one thing I found to admire about her, her way-above-average intelligence, was offset by her horrible potty mouth. Fortunately, at least we saw her use her intelligence in her day job , whipping the office into shape with her outstanding organizational skills. What kept me turning pages was the hope that she would grow up, and realize the good things right in front of her, and use her natural abilities in a meaningful way. That growth in her maturity made the book worth reading to me, and seeing she and Brinn (and she and her brother Will) opening up and allowing themselves to be vulnerable. Even though I had a hard time liking Josie (and her language) through most of the book, I was glad to see the growth in her and see her get her happy ending, and I do feel that Ms. Rose is very skilled at storytelling. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, and am giving my voluntary and honest opinion.

*Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for review, all opinions are my own*

I finished this book on Friday but I did not have the time to come here to update before but I’m here now to give my opinion on this book.
This book was passed on to me as an enemy to lovers comedy but it is not. I just wanted to make that clear so no one would go with the wrong expectations to the book has I went with.
But even though I didn't find what I expected in the book, I ended up liking it.
There is nothing much in the book, the story is very basic, the characters are very interesting, and the author still managed to bring some representation to the story.
It's a quick and fun book to read.

2.5-3 stars...

I thought this story is for me because I love an opposite-attracts romance and an independent, strong heroine who has some baggage, that's why she never stays in one place and always running away. But the heroine, Josie, turns me off right from the start. She laid out some things she did such as handing her resignation in her job without notice, breaking up with her fiance via phone two years ago, and breaking hearts since then. She also said she doesn't like monogamy dating. I don't care but the way she said those things annoys me. She's like gloating to the reader, like what she did and what she is now is something to be proud of. OK, maybe being independent and finally getting out of her parents' clutch is something to be proud of. And I also know she has reasons why she never stays in one place (it will be clearer as the story progresses), but I just end up not liking her as a person.

I just couldn't make myself like her. I do like the hero, Brinn. He's OK. Josie's brother is okay too.

As for the romance, it's almost insta-lust and I don't see the chemistry between Josie and Brinn. But it gets better a bit when they start spending time together. Still, I'm not satisfied.

Josie is running from her past and looking for her missing brother. Brinn is looking forward to buy his dream business and keep his steady life. Can two people so different find a common ground and have a happily ever after?

This is a fantastic read, I loved Josie and felt you learn more about her as the book goes on, there is more to her than the blurb and first chapter indicates. It’s a story about learning who you are and who you were, about finding a home. It’s emotional, it’s lovely , it has a serious side to the story. Kristi’s writing is fantastic, it draws you in and has an easy feel about it while pulling you into serious matters, her characters are well developed like Josie you don’t just know them from the start, we learn as we progress with the characters. A fantastic read.

Josie Woodmere is on her way to Daytona, in search of her brother, when her car broke down. She meets Brinn McRae and his brother Vann as they stop to help her. When she ends up getting a job working for Mark, Brinn’s boss, she manages to take some of the workload off him as his boss expects him to take care of everything. Can two people from two totally different walks of life who didn’t want a lasting relationship find themselves in love. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This is a fun and steamy book. I loved the main character and I enjoyed seeing her growth throughout the novel.

I recieved a free digital copy of the book from the publisher - Vintage Housewife Books - via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expresses are my own and given freely.

First off my rating is 2.5⭐ but its not an option for rating and i dont feel right giving it 3...

I both love and hate the cover of this rerealse - it is a fabulous iece of artwork but I dont think it fits the book...

Also I found out today when looking for a page count that it was originally released in 2016 and according to Goodreads the series is 'No strings Attatched' not 'Opposites Attract'

So the characters... The only ones I found likeable were Jayne, Zach and Pippa... The girls were both dow to earth and totally okay with themselves... Despite Jayne being a man hater 😂 and Zach was just so sweet and totally cute!

I reallt disliked Jo/Jo Jo/Josephine - she was very unlikeable and i don't get what anyone sees in her. I couod be friends with her but not good friends I'd want to punch her... A lot... She ws selfish, self centred and pathetic. I understand some of her work bstqcles but the way she reacts to them makes no sense. She is unreliable and i just don't like her.

The whole hurricane thing was rushed as was the last part of the book sadly as it was the best part. It showed character growth.. But her foecing her way up a in Brinn and then beong annoyed whej he doesn't tell her shit but she finds it perfectly fine for her to not tell him the truth...

Dont get me started on Brinn being so possessive when she's not his... Not thats shes an object to be owned but you get what i mean. He acts all alpha and jealous all the time and its not even hot... Oiterally hearing about how ripped he is, is not interesting, its page filler and annoying.

I think Vann could have been a much bigger part of the book and could have made a difference in their hurricane aftermath had he been a part of the story rarher than a minor side character.

Honestly the synopsis for this book is quite misleading... No where does it say anything abour Vann being the instigator of her ride or anything about him... Despite the fact that he's the one that holds almost all the conversation with her at the beginning

The Girl He Needs
Series: Book one in the No Strings Attached Series
Rating: 4 stars
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I read by Kristi Rose and I really enjoyed it. Josie and Brinn were really opposites but in some way they were able to complement each other very well. They were what each of them needed to be happy. She brought joy and spontaneity to his life while he brought stability and calmness to hers. They had great chemistry together and Josie enjoyed pushing Brinn's buttons. The scene with the scooter was very funny!
I loved the relationship they each had with their own brothers. Josie had been trying to locate her brother, Will, for some time already. It's a little heartbreaking when she finds out the reason of why he's been so elusive. At the same time Brinn has been a parent/brother for his. He's been responsible for his brother since they were young and for that reason Brinn always seems to carry the world on his shoulders.
I look forwards to more books in the series.

*Review will be posted on Goodreads as of today 5/6/20 and on Amazon on publishing day.

The Girl He Needs is a fun read, full of very quirky characters and an engaging plot. It doesn't take itself seriously, a light read that is perfect for summer.

I did not like this book. At all. I thought the story was choppy and all over the place and very unrealistic. I skimmed the end of the book just to finish it.

The story of Brinn and Josie.

Their paths keep crossing, and then she gets a temp job where he works. They are opposites but there is chemistry between them. Are they just too different or will they balance each other out?

Looking forward to reading more form this series.

Overall rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

I received an ARC in exchange of my honest review and I have to thank NetGalley for it.

Do you remember our parents warning us not to take lift from strangers? Specially when you are stranded alone on the highway? Well Josie didn't have a choice (since her car was on fire) and also the stranger was hot (in a broody guy kind of way). Even better when you find a job in the same company as him and suddenly both of you can't get the other out of ther mind. This book is a true case of opposite attracts and I loved reading every second of it. I would love to read all the other books in this series.

This is my first Kristi Rose book. I was a bit weary about reading it since Rose is a new author to me but I love enemies to lovers trope and that along with the catchy plot made me request this book. I am very glad I did otherwise I would have missed my chance at reading a good story. I finished it in one go. Since May is the month of mental health awareness, I am glad to have read a book which throws much light on the subject.

Firstly let me be clear on the enemies to lovers subject. This book is not about that. There is not even a small hint of hostility between Josie and Brinn (our protagonists) but instead they were very open about their attraction to one another from the very start (or at least Jo was and later Brinn was on board with their no strings attached arrangement until it started tugging their 'heartstrings'). This sounds complicated but actually it's not. I have read about similar situations in so many books but this one was different. The fact that Josie is a straight forward girl and doesn't beat around her feelings which is really refreshing. At the beginning, she is portrayed as this easy going girl who has had a number of hook ups and two broken engagements under her belt and is not afraid to go after what she wants. As the story proceeds we get to see another side of her character. We get to know more about her relationship with her family, friends and most importantly her brother. I loved her kickass nature. She is completely different story underneath all the henna tattoos and her legal know how gave her an 'air of mystery' that drew Brinn to her in the first place. But Josie is in for a surprise cause Daytona is starting to grow on her or may be its Brinn (or may be both) lol.

If we talk about Brinn, I have so much to say about the guy. I really liked the influence Josie had on him. He was very straight laced and by-the-book kind of guy and completely different from Jo. But when it comes to their chemistry, it's safe to say that Brinn is not so straight laced after all lol. Their chemistry is off the charts and it was definitely without a doubt one of the best part of the story. They were the focus of this book and the author didn't emphasize on the secondary characters as much but I loved them all (specially Jayne). Pippa, Zach, Will and Daanya deserve special mention too. The writing is very good. Reading this story felt effortless and most of the time I was left with a smile on my face. The banter between Josie and Brinn were funny and sexy at the same time. If you are a fan of small town romance books with a strong heroine who is trying to reconnect with her brother and a ruggedly sexy/broody pilot with a heart of gold then I would definitely recommend you to read this one. It's safe to say that you won't be disappointed and I truly hope you all love it in Daytona beach as much as I did 🍸

Stay safe and happy reading.

P.S. 'The Girl He Needs' is the first book in the 'No String Attached' series by Kristi Rose.
