I loved this young readers edition of Abby's book. She makes a real connection with the reader and draws them in with her athletic stories.
I started following Abby Wambach on Instagram after reading her wife’s book Untamed. I love their antics and thought that this would be a fun inspiring read, and I was not disappointed. I thought this was an awesome, motivational book for young athletes, or for anyone looking for a boost! Each “rule” is one that kids (and adults!) can identify with and use to inspire. I was given an advanced reader's copy via NetGalley, thank you to them. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This inspirational book will serve as an autobiography and a motivational book in my classroom library. It is a quick read with little vignettes that coordinate with Abby’s rules of the pack. Students will love the sports analogies and timely advice from a well known athlete and activist.
Huge praise for Abby Wambach and Wolfpack! This book is powerful and impactful with sage wisdom and advice on every page. I immediately started sharing this book with others and purchased multiple copies!
I have already pre-ordered a hard copy of this book and plan on gifting it as well. This is a great, quick read filled with inspiration and interesting stories of perseverance and attitude. Abby is a humble voice for young athletes. I found myself saying out loud, "YES!" several times throughout the book. Thank you Abby for being a voice for the strong, empowered athlete.
In this young reader's edition, Abby Wambach shares eight old rules modified with new rules to inspire others. Each chapter focuses on a rule interwoven with Abby's personal experiences. The new rules and analogy to the wolfpack are motivational and relatable to readers. I can't wait to share this book with my daughter.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this title.
Abby Wambach, Olympic gold medalist, FIFA World Cup champion, six-time winner of US Soccer Athlete of the Year award, and activist has written this motivational and inspirational book for youths. In it she writes about her time as a soccer player and recalls memories from her youth within the theme that wolves can effect change - and you are the wolf! “Young people must stop following the Old Rules, which exist only to maintain the status quo... old ways of thinking will never help us build a new world. Out with the Old, in with the New. Welcome to the Wolfpack Way - 8 New Rules to help young people change the world.”
The eight rules head each chapter. She lists the old rule followed by the new. Each new rule is a lesson in how to be true to yourself and your “wolf pack” to effect change. The examples are relatable and motivational and are suitable for all genders and ages 8 and up.
