Great biography and collection of women who have been vital to our world history. Such a great addition for libraries, especially for little and young girls and women to read--but also boys and men. These names should never be forgotten, nor their contribution to the world via their brilliance and innovations.
This is an important book to read whether you are a woman or not. Koppel, the author, tells the stories of these women immaculately and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
Strong Women is an excellent compillation of short biographies of women throughout history, who may have been ignored or overlooked. Kari Koeppel organized the book into three sections: The Innovators, The Change-Makers, The Ceiling Breakers. Sample biographies include Alice Guy-Blache, Ada Lovelace, Marsha P. Johnson, and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and many more diverse influential women. I learned about many of these women for the first time when reading this book and I appreciated that each woman's chapter has a short synopsis included prior to the longer biographies. The text is accompanied with colorful illustrations of each woman, as well. It could be an asset to any woman's library (young or old) to suppport learning more about female empowerment and the women who should be celebrated.
