I love this series about the crazy, dysfunctional Wynn family and how each of the younger generation, aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings are all finding their mates. The characters are all skillful developed with distinct personalities. There is lots of lively banter with vivid descriptions of the settings. And each book in the series, begins with a Family Tree to help keep the relationships of this big wacky family straight.
This book is about Jax, the only one of the family who doesn't live on the west coast, but plays for the Chicago Aces, and appeared in that series. Because of the feud that has been going on between his grandfather, father and uncle, and the divorce of his parents, he has stayed away from "that side of his family" except for when they have met up when playing against each other. But now that he has heard about his grandfather's condition, Alzheimer's, he is going to make a surprise visit- after the wedding of his teammate Steve Shevchuk and his "trivia" buddy , Molly Flynn. However, the wedding does not go as planned, when Molly reads out loud, instead of her vows, the text that she had received the night about Steve's infidelity. When Jax comes in to check on her, she asks him to get her out, and then decides to accompany him to California.
Because of his parent's divorce and the belief that his father had been unfaithful and convinced that he would follow in those footsteps, Jax is never going to have a relationship of get married. Despite his mother being a successful and famous psychologist, he refuses to talk about his feelings which has cost him to not having a relationship with his father or grandfather because of long held false beliefs. So now neither Jax or Molly is interested in a relationship, but they have fun together. Molly is beautiful, smart and sassy and a wonderful companion and listener. She encourages him to pursue those familial relationships and soon they have become friends with benefits- but only until they return to Chicago at the end of the summer. Sure, except for really shallow people, that never works. They have to go through the pain of separation and soul searching to get their HEA.
The moral of the book: Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes not getting what you want can be a good thing. I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
In this 5th installment of the Wynn hockey series, we meet Jax. He hasn’t really been in the previous books as we he lives in Chicago vs LA. Just like his cousins/aunts/uncles he has a fair amount of baggage from poorly learned emotional lessons. He is paired with Molly, his friend who recently discovered her fiancée was less than faithful.
I enjoyed seeing Jax and Molly together. The ways he “helped” her seemed obvious, but there were more subtle ways Molly helped Jax deal with things and grow. The evolution of their relationship from friends to more was sweet. Even how Steve, her ex and his teammate, reacted to them being a couple spoke to the fact that they were genuinely good people.
Game Changer is a well written, feel good story. If you have been following the Wynn series, you will updates from previous main characters. If you are new to the series, this is a good place to start as Jax and Molly’s story is pretty much independent of the previous books. I definitely enjoyed meeting this couple and look forward to seeing what happens next for the Wynn family.
Love this series... is easy to love Jax and molly, you aww how Jax helps molly when she finds out at the alter that her soon to be husband cheated on her. Jax helps her get out of town, the more time they spend together the closer they become. It’s a great friends to lovers book. Kelly’s Wynn family is one of my favorites, each one of the books I have read I think oh this one was my favorite, then I read another.
Thank you netgalley and Kelly jamieson for letting me read this ARC
After leaving her fiance on the alter Molly just wants to go away and she has luck to have a great friend Jax who helps her get away. So they end up spending the whole summer together, knowing better on a deeper level and also in a biblical way. What will, happen when summer is over? Molly thinks Jax is just a rebound but is he? And Jax is not so great at expressing his feelings. A sports romance with an ok storyline, I love the most how Jax win Molly over.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
the fifth wynn hockey story, game changer, focuses on jackson wynn. until now we haven't had much call to interact with jax because he's been off playing for the chicago aces. but his grandfather's recent alzheimer's diagnosis has him coming home to spend time with the rest of the family.
he's not exactly looking forward to this reunion, given all the past tensions and dynamics, jax hasn't really been around to see the way things have begun to settle down, especially now that the wynn patriach's diagnosis is out in the open.
before he goes to his family, he needs to attend a teammate's wedding. but when that ends up being called off and he ends up with the bride as a road trip partner, all his summer plans go haywire.
the last thing jax expects is to connect with molly the way he does. she's on the rebound, he has his crazy family to deal with, and she's his teammate's ex. but the heart wants what the heart wants, and those wynn boys are impossible to resist.
**game changer will publish on june 9, 2020. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/kelly jamieson in exchange for my honest review.

M/F Friends-to-Lovers
Jackson loves his life. He loves playing hockey and he loves his friends. While his family life is somewhat complicated, Jackson knows that it's time for him to head home and see everyone. But first, he's attending his teammate’s wedding.
Molly is a funny and somewhat nerdy woman who isn't ready to settle for being someone's second choice. When she decides to end her marriage before it begins, she isn't quite sure what will happen. But once it's done, she knows that she needs to get away for a while.
Molly and Jackson have been friends for a while and when Jackson sees that Molly needs a little saving, he's not going to turn his back on her. Molly is grateful for Jackson's hospitality and when she invites herself on his trip, she's even more grateful to meet his family. They are complicated, but they love each other.
During this trip, both Molly and Jackson have to face some real truths about themselves. Jackson faces some hard truths from his past and Molly looks to her uncertain future.
I enjoyed watching these two friends help each other along their journey. They had an easy chemistry and banter that showed years of friendship was behind their attraction. I can't wait to see what more this series will bring!

Molly has gotten the worst news of her life and on the night before her wedding, what she does with it is the right thing and now she needs to get away for a while. Who does she turn to but her friend, Jackson Wynn, who just so happens to be her ex-fiancé’s teammate.
Jackson has always had a soft spot for Molly, she is a great person, fun to be around, and the best trivia partner he has ever had. He takes her to his condo for the night, but he is leaving for California the next day so see his family. Molly wants to go with him because she needs to get away and clear her mind. Jackson knows it's a bad idea but lets her tag along. They have fun together, his family likes her, and is he beginning to have feelings for her?
He can't be falling for his teammate's ex, it isn't right. Is Molly feeling the same or is it just a rebound crush? Will they be able to talk about what they are feeling? Can they still be friends? Will there be a chance for a future together?
I really like this series and I liked Molly and Jax too. This is a good story with all the feels and family to keep you interested and reading until the end because you want to know what happens. I hope you give this one a chance and enjoy it too.

This is a fun read full of drama and angst. Molly leaves her fiancé standing at the altar with a devastating public revelation – and then she needs somewhere to hide from the fallout. It’s her trivia partner, Jax, who helps her out – taking her to California to meet his complicated, glamorous family.
This is a true friends-to-lovers romance and I love the friendship between Molly and Jax more than anything in this book. They are good together. They’re fun together. They get each other. Molly helps Jax really see his family and Jax helps Molly find her confidence after the messy break up.
There is a playfulness to the connection between Molly and Jax that I loved. I also kinda love that this is a hockey romance without any hockey. Molly and Jax spend the off season together in Manitoba – far away from real life complications. My only complaint is the conflict and miscommunication at the end of the book that doesn’t really make sense for characters who are so close and so in tune with each other in every other way. It feels contrived and doesn’t really fit the characters.

This is the fifth book in the series, and I would highly recommend that you read them in order to understand all the family dynamics. That said, Jackson lives on the East coast, and tries to avoid family drama, so you could still enjoy the story without going backwards – although you may choose to once you have read this installment. Though this is a sports romance, for a variety of reasons, in this story we get to see how Jackson's contract negotiations with his NHL team are causing him concern.
There is most definitely a dramatic start to Molly and Jackson's summer, not one that either of them had envisaged. But it makes for a really wonderful opportunity for them both to learn about themselves, and for Jackson in particular, to learn how he could have misjudged things in his family. As his and Molly's relationship takes on a different dimension – no longer just trivia quiz buddies – she helps him see that there may be an alternative side to the story. Now they just need to figure out what that may mean for them.
I really enjoyed this book; it has a really light touch in the friends-to-lovers theme. So light that the two of them never even think to admit their feelings to each other – but certainly everyone around them is clued in far sooner, which is fun. A good addition to the series, thank you.
I have read many of Kelly Jamieson's books and have enjoyed them immensely. Game Changer is her latest offering, and its a steamy sports romance with settings at a luxurious resort in Los Angeles, a secluded cabin in Gladstone, Canada, and the bustling city of Chicago. This story opens with a huge bang, then slows down considerably, until it picks up again towards the end. The characters are engaging and I enjoyed getting to know them. This is the fifth book from the Wynn Hockey series and it can be read as a standalone.

I'm not sure how to categorize this read, it's a sport romance, it's a friends to lovers, maybe a second chance romance it's all that and a great read! Molly is ready to get married, she walked down the aisle, stood before her groom, family and friends and handed her cheating fiance's butt to him, now she just wants to get out of town away from it all. Jax is Molly's friend and teammate to her groom so when she wants to get away from the wedding venue he helps. what he didn't expect was for her to invite herself on his trip out to California nor could he predict that he's invite her to spend the summer in Canada! Is it just a rebound fling, summer fling or more? Humor, feels, loyalty, heat and HEA, great read!
This story was a game changer for me. After I read this book I needed to read all the books from this author. I could not put it down and I wanted it to go on forever. Great story.
Another winner by Ms Jamieson!I loved this book and all the characters in it!Jackson Wynn is at his teammate Steves wedding,to Molly.Jax and Molly are friends and when the wedding blows up because Molly finds out Steve cheated on her she turns to him for help. This is a really good friends to lovers story that I really enjoyed and highly recommend!
On her wedding day, Molly ends up reading aloud her fiance’s cheating texts and then she runs away. Her friend, Jax Wynn, helps her escape, but he’s in a tricky spot as he’s on the cheating fiance’s hockey team. I love the way these friends find a way to become lovers, and work through all of the obstacles in their way. It’s also so nice to revisit the Wynn family.
Game Changer is the fifth book of Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series. I cannot believe it is already the fifth book but no worries there are still quite a bit kids and grandkids to cover :) This book presents you a run-away bride and a run-away (kind of) Wynn.
Jackson, aka Jax, Wynn plays hockey for Chicago Aces. Jax is smart, funny, kind, generous, and reserved. He is also a trivia junkie. He is the only one who lives across the country. Since getting the news about grandfather’s Alzheimer's and all the things that have been going on in the family, he wants to visit California and spend time with family during his summer break. He only has one stop to make before flying to California, his teammate Steve’s wedding. What a wedding that is. He has no idea that the wedding will become a new adventure for him. Molly Flynn is a 3rd-grade teacher, who is about to become a hockey wife. She is smart, caring, compassionate, and understanding. The night before her wedding, she receives explicit text messages showing her fiancé’s unfaithfulness. So, as payback, she leaves him at the altar but while planning the payback she forgot to make a getaway plan. But no worries there. One thing leads to another and her savior with a shining armor becomes her trivia partner Jax. She also didn’t think about what will happen after her runaway-bride act, the fans, the media… She is desperate to leave Chicago for a while and desperate times bring desperate measures, so she begs Jax, who is also ex-cheater’s teammate, to take her to California with him. Jax knew it wasn’t a good idea to take Molly to California with him but thinking using her as a buffer might help him with his family, he agrees. Their short trip to California turns out to be a summer-long adventure for both of them. I loved how Molly encouraged Jax to face his emotional baggage and his family. She was always there to support and listen to him. It was great to watch their friendship to bloom something more.
Game Changer was sweet, sexy, heartwarming, and so much more. It was the beginning and then the end, I have no idea how the time flew while reading. I wish it was a bit longer but then again, I am sure that wouldn’t be enough as well. If you are looking for a new series to start, I recommend you start reading the Wynn Hockey series.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Yes
Would I read future books by this author: Yes
Readers looking for a quintessential summer read will find this just what they're hoping for courtesy of a wonderful hero with a hidden heart of gold, a sassy heroine who just dodged a bullet, and a road trip that has these friends slowly becoming something more as secrets and truths are revealed. It's a journey that might start out as an escape from a wedding but it soon turns introspective as the stoic hero starts dealing with his past with the help of the very likable heroine. From start to finish readers will be charmed, truths will be laid bare, and readers will be cheering on this main couple every step of the way in this gem of a romance!
Jaxson Wynn is a man full of inner conflict as family choices, when it came to romance, have left him doubting the existence of true love. His father and grandfather's choices disillusioned him and have kept a rift between them throughout the years. His grandfather's recent Alzheimer's diagnosis is something he can't ignore though and it has Jax heading home before it's too late. To the outside world he's content with his hockey playing life, content with trivia night with his friend Molly, but throughout their road trip it's clear there's something missing...and with Molly by his side he'll discover what that something is. Jax is a good guy, someone who wouldn't go after his friend's girl, and through most of their trip their feelings are kept as a slow-burn danced around by both of them. Throughout that time he also addresses his own past, his lack of believing in love, and learns the truth about the divorce of his parents...all with Molly by his side supporting him. Their love of trivia brought them together but the more time they spent on the road the more they discovered about themselves and each other with each mile making me like them all the more. Jaxson endeared himself to me from the very start by being a good friend to Molly when she needed him most and by the end their pairing put a permanent grin on my face.
Molly Flynn's a likable heroine, a teacher with a good head on her shoulders. She thought she'd found the love of her life but the night before her wedding proves just how wrong she is. Wanting to nurse a bruised heart, while staying away from all the drama, means running from the altar and begging her friend Jaxson to take her with him on a road trip to see family. The journey takes a few unexpected turns though as emotional issues are dealt with while their growing feelings for each other soon become too obvious to ignore. Molly's the kind of heroine you can see yourself hanging out with and she fit in equally well with the Wynn family which helped Jaxson confront his long-held beliefs and feelings of inadequacy. She proved herself to be a supportive friend which in turn fueled their romance and it had me rooting for them every step of the way.
From the first page to the last I was utterly charmed by this friends to lovers romance. There were some typical Ms. Jamieson moments, while also forging some new roads, in a tale that was a nice addition to the Wynn Hockey series. The romance between Molly and Jaxson was definitely a slow burn, something that grew with each mile they traveled, and I enjoyed how it just snuck up on them. It was a gift they weren't expecting and it came with a few bumps before they fully embraced the change between them. Previous books were fueled by action on the ice in exhilarating games of hockey, but here the action was more personal during the sport's off-season. My only quibble comes with a midsection that dragged a bit, but it thankfully didn't last long and led to even more soul searching between the two likable leads. Readers will enjoy this sweet and sensual friends to lovers tale, a tale that will have them wanting to get caught up with the previous books while waiting to return to these characters who've come to feel like family.
Game Changer - five books into a series full of terrific characters, romances with more chemistry than you can shake a stick at, and some wild and crazy family drama. I've loved so many characters in this series and I've rooted for every single couple, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Jax and Molly make up my favorite couple. So far! Who knows what Kelly Jamieson will dream up next for the wonderful Wynn family. This family does take some time to get to know all of them, but once you do, they start to feel like real people, which just goes to show the character development this author puts into her stories.
Now for Jax and Molly. I love Jax and Molly! They are equal parts witty and emotional, and the sexual tension is through the roof. I love that these two are friends first, which can be just as much fun as an enemies to lovers romance, especially when the friends in question start tiptoeing around the feels. Of course, the author's wit comes shining through. You know it's good when you start laughing and look up from your Kindle to find the whole family looking at you like you've grown a second head. Nothing beats a couple who knows how to have fun together, and these two definitely have that down.
We also get some serious as Jax deals with his grandfather's Alzheimer's. I think the author does a great job of showing just how hard this disease is on everyone around it. It's done with care and respect, and it certainly tugs at the heartstrings.
All in all, this fifth in the series is everything I've come to expect from this author. It's sweet, sexy, emotional, and laugh out loud funny. Another engaging and entertaining read by Kelly Jamieson.
Jax doesn’t believe in love because of his parents. He overheard a conversation when he was younger and believes his dad cheated. His family is a little crazy and estranged. Molly is the fiancée of one of his teammates, and is also a good friend of Jax. Molly is smart, funny, beautiful and a strong woman. I loved what she did to her fiancée on their wedding day.
Jax and Molly stole my heart. Their friendship was wonderful and seeing them open up to the other and show sides of themselves that others didn’t see was sweet. They both were a little daft at times, especially when it came to their feelings for the other. I loved how his family, whom she met because she invited herself to go with him, loved her and treated her with respect. I also enjoyed the fact that she helped him open his eyes and take steps to repair his relationship with his family.
A true friends to lovers rom com with some surprises. Her ex turned out to be a piece of work, but helped them both admit their true feelings, at least to themselves. A wonderful book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
Molly thought she had it all - until she was sent copies of texts between her fiance and the other woman. After an epic confrontation, she wanted nothing more than to get out of town and disappear for a while, and what better place to disappear to than sunny California with her friend Jax.
The last thing Jax wanted was to add more complications to his trip home to visit the family and check on his grandfather, but he found he just couldn't say no to his trivia buddy Molly. On break from hockey for the season, Jax has time scheduled in California and Canada at his families cabin on a lake.
After so many years as friends, and Jax's relationship with Molly's ex their growing attraction is something that catches them completely off guard. But Jax finds himself opening up to Molly in a way he never thought he wanted to. When the two finally give in to the attraction that's been growing between them it's explosive - but they've made a deal - everything ends when they leave at the end of the summer.
I completely enjoyed Jax and Molly's story. Neither of them were looking for anything but friendship - but that friendship turned into the basis of something really beautiful. This was a sweet romance, with a truly kick ass heroine. I thoroughly enjoyed this love story.
Molly thought she had met her Prince Charming and was planning her happy ever after until she finds out on her wedding day that he is nothing but a frog. She decides to become the runaway bride and convinces Jackson, who is not only her friend but her fiance’s teammate, to help her escape the situation and her fiancé.
Jackson was trying to delay one stressful situation with his family only to find himself front and centre in another one when he attends Molly and Steve’s wedding. Due to his past he has no patience for people who are unfaithful so when he finds himself having to choose sides, he chooses Molly.
As they spend time together and support each other through difficult times in their live they may just find out that they are destined to be much more than friends and as a bonus we get to catch up with the wild and wack Wynns.
I absolutely love the Wynn. They are crazy, a bit dysfunctional, funny and so lovable. We get to visit with a few of our old favorites with Jax's story. Yes he is a Wynn but he is making it in hockey on his own. He does not play for the family teams.
Molly I truly fell in love with her. She is a third grade teacher about to marry a hockey player until the night before the wedding she realizes his infidelity with incriminating naughty texts.
She and Jax have been trivia partners and friends so when she decides walk to the alter tell the cheating fiancé off and become a runaway bride...she needs a getaway man. Jax will do anything to help his friend and if that means whisking her out of town , so be it.
This couple are truly friends. They listen, support one another, defend each other and over the next few weeks realize that they want more. It becomes so complicated and when Jax is afraid to show his true feelings Molly hangs her head and walks away. Although these friends truly are meant to be together one way or the other!
Loved their story!

3.75 stars--GAME CHANGER is the fifth instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the Wynn hockey dynasty. This is right winger Jackson ‘Jax’ Wynn, and primary school teacher Molly Flynn’s story line. GAME CHANGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story regarding Wynn patriarch Bob Wynn, as the family struggles with his worsening Alzheimer’s.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jax and Molly) GAME CHANGER follows in the after math of Molly’s almost-wedding to Jax’s teammate Steve Shevchuk. The night before her wedding Molly received several screen shots of a conversation between her fiancé Steve and a woman named Claire, and seconds after walking down the aisle Molly read said conversation in front of her guests and the man she was about to marry. Walking away with a broken heart Molly would be rescued by Steve’s teammate and Molly’s trivia partner Jackson ‘Jax’ Wynn, whereupon Molly would push her way into Jackson’s cross-country journey in an effort to escape the melee back home. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Molly and Jax, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to a close with their return to reality, and the likelihood of trouble between Jackson and Steve.
Jackson ‘Jax’ Wynn doesn’t do relationships having witnessed the effect of his father’s betrayal, and his grandfather’s second marriage to a much younger woman, a marriage that is constantly pulling the family apart. Falling for his teammate’s ex-fiance comes with unimaginable problems for Jackson and the team but more so for Molly when the fans and the media begin to surmise as to what happened and why. Molly Flynn thought she found happiness with Steve Shevchuk but never imagined the betrayal by the man that she loved. Molly and Jackson had been friends but our heroine never expected to fall in love, walking away a second time with a broken heart.
Once again, the Wynn family must address the elephant in the room, that of patriarch Bob Wynn’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Having believed the old man had defrauded the family, many of the extended members battled with Bob and his second wife Chelsea, a woman they blamed for the family’s deteriorating relationship.
The relationship between Molly and Jax is a friends to lovers; a forbidden relationship, of a sorts, with the potential for rebound but Jackson struggles with his attraction to, and love for his teammate’s ex-fiance, an attraction that could destroy a number of friendships, and the team dynamic. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The sexual tension is heavy and tense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including several members of the large and dysfunctional Wynn extended family: patriarch Bob Wynn and his wife Chelsea; Jackson’s father Mark Wynn; his mother Tori, and his maternal grandparents Pat and Gary Thompson; Long Beach Golden Eagles JP Wynn and his fiancé Taylor; Jackson’s sister Riley; their aunt Everly, aunt Aline, and uncle Asher; Molly’s ex-fiance Steve.
GAME CHANGER is a story of betrayal, friendship, family and love. The premise is moving and seductive ; the character are animated and energetic; the romance is captivating and emotional.

Wow, I have to say that was one way to stop a wedding! I have never seen, read, watched, heard of, anything about the way this wedding had ended in such a glorious manor...it was spectacular!
Jax is a knight in shining hockey skates when Molly needed him the most. Imagine calling off your wedding and now not having anywhere to go because you have moved all of your stuff into the place you are supposed to be sharing with your husband, only now that isn't going to happen...what do you do? Well luckily for Molly Jax was there to help her even if he did it reluctantly.
Jax and Steve are teammates for the Chicago Aces, I loved seeing the old team together for the wedding it was such fun I really missed them since the series ended, but while they are teammates Jax is also friends with Molly, Steve's fiance. I would say that even though there is a brotherhood between teammates there is more of a friendship between Jax and Molly, which is a good thing here.
There is a lot going on in this book and I would say one of my favorite parts is the way Molly helps Jax reconnect with his Family, The Wynn's, and guides him with dealing with his grandfathers illness amongst other things. I think he needed someone to show him a different side of things to help him open up to what was happening.
This was another great addition to the Wynn Hockey Series, I would totally recommend reading the series in order because of the family drama that is playing out in each of the stories but it can be read as a standalone if you choose to read it that way.
Happy Reading!!!
