A fast read adult romance with some chemistry and smutty scenes.
I loved reading it as an in between book 📖
An ex teacher becomes a nanny for an ex seal, while she finds herself with art expression and exploration.
Attraction, emotional feelings, and happiness, emerge in this romance story of love.
With a happy ever after ending in this romantic story.
Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. So imagine my surprise at not enjoying this story as much as expected. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am almost always entertained. This book notwithstanding, I will continue to one click, however.
I loved this book. I really enjoyed the way the author wrote the story. I will be looking for more books by this author
I enjoyed the story of Lily and Colin as they find they must put Colin's daughter Sofia's needs ahead of their own. Colin learns to accept that the perfect order of his life is going to be shaken up a bit and Lily learns to trust Colin with her life and her heart. I look forward to reading more from this author!
Quick dirty yet sweet book. I really like this one. It was a very fast read. Take it to the beach and enjoy your afternoon.
Colin is looking for a wife. One who is going to be a good mother for his adopted daughter, Sofia. Someone who is stable and reliable. That someone is not Lily, Sofia’s new nanny. Lily is a free spirit who is set on following her dreams. Even though she doesn’t check all the boxes, he can’t fight his attraction to her. The longer Lily stays on as the nanny, the more her heart wants to stay forever.
You can always expect an HEA when reading Leslie North – it’s a guarantee! And that’s what I love about her books. They are quick and sweet with a little bit of heat. The characters were great and I’m a sucker for a good dad storyline. Overall, a great read!

This series is one of the first I have read of Leslie North and I gobbled it up once I started reading I was so glad they had this book on Netgalley so I wouldn't have to wait for it to release. This is the story of former Navy Seal Colin Vale who is looking for a nanny for his adopted daughter. He wants someone who is reliable who can help him give his adopted daughter Sofia a happy childhood unlike the one he had. Lily Rhodes the nanny he hired is far from that kind of woman.
Lily is the oldest of 8 children her young life Was filled with responsibility. She does not want to settle down before she has chased her dreams. Colin hires her despite this and he has to fight his attraction to Lily. He goes on a bunch of dates to find the perfect mother for his daughter but he cannot stop thinking about Lily at home with his daughter.
She is attracted to Colin but the job as a nanny is temporary just a way to make money to follow her dreams. Colin is hot and a good father. The longer she stays the harder it is to want to leave. When she is given the opportunity of a lifetime she has to decide whether to stay or go and it will be the toughest decision of her life.
I really enjoyed this book and series it is a great read. I highly reccomend it. Even though I was given a free copy from Netgalley I planned on buying it once it was released because I loved the first two. I read it in one day. If your looking for a good book and series check out this one.
This romantic story is the second volume of the "The Admiral's SEALs" series. As a nanny, the colourful Lily brings chaos to Colin's ordered life and joy to his adopted daughter. Although he is looking for a steady type as the ideal image of future wife and despite his good looks he is too straightforward for her, they can't resist their attraction.
I really enjoyed this book. Colin is an ex=Seal who's adopted Sofia and needs a nanny. He's a hard worker with a tender heart and wants to protect those he loves. Lily is in search of herself and trying to figure out what she wants to do rather than what her parents want her to do. The match-up between Lily and Colin clicks from the beginning although he's looking for someone who wants to settle down and she's definitely looking for a way to explore what her alternatives might be. The characters in this story are well developed -- it's clear what both of them are searching for-- as well as what's holding them back. The plot is not complex, but has a bit of intrigue and flows smoothly. One of the most interesting characters, Lily's aunt, is a secondary one with a very small, but pivotal role. This is a sweet romance that made me want to read more by Leslie North.

This was an okay read, it was nothing spectacular. The entire thing was predictable, but that is not a bad thing. Most stories like this, we go into for that feel good moment at the end when you know the characters are going to realize they are being stupid and finally fall forever into each other's arms.
I realy, really, really dislike the name of this book. I think it does an injustice to the story. That is just my hot take. Colin Vale is a hardcore military man that seems inflexible, but isn't. Lily seems too flexible and not ready to settle down, but all her actions are to the contrary. The concept is that Colin adopted his daughter Sofia after a deployment where her mother died and he promised to take care of her. He has uprooted and changed his life to accommodate the little girl that he has come to love so completely. He hires Lily as Sofia's temporary nanny while Colin searches for a mother and wife to fill out the rest of his family. The entire process seems more like a clinical or robotic process until he continues to think about Lily as more than just a nanny. There is a stalking and "intrigue" aspect to this story, but neither are really explore and even in the moments where they both come to a head it is very anticlimactic.
I love the relationship that between Colin and his daughter, Sofia, you know immediately that he is more than his tough exterior when he interacts with Sofia on page. That said the interactions between Colin, Lily, and even Colin's brother's fall a little flat. We are told that this thing between Colin and Lily is smoldering and hot, but we really don't get to feel that through the text. Additionally, there were lost opportunities to really flesh out why Colin is so guarded and ridged. We never really get more than a passing glance at how he became Sofia's guardian.
Going back to the stalking aspect of this story and the "intrigue" part, I think the writer missed a excellent opportunity to really explore the depth of what these character's had to lose. These parts could have been easily left out and really not affected how the story played out. Another issue I had was that Colin and Lily just didn't talk to each other. They danced around each other like teenagers in their first relationship rather than grown adults. This miscommunication trope can be done well, but in this case it didn't do justice to the story or the characters.
The story itself was lacking in direction with the climax and lead up just being meh. The characters were almost there, but felt a little two dimensional at times. I just wanted more of a connection between them that showed us how they felt rather than told us. The ending saved it for me, it was sweet and gave us the "aaww" moments that lack in other places. Those missed opportunities for the reader to be fully invested was what made me rate this a solid 3.0 stars.
It's a nice story with a predictable ending that was a good palate cleanser in between more dense, character focused books. The writing was well done.
This was a quick read fun read. The book did have some flow issues in a couple if chapter where it skipped around and I lost track of what was really going on but other then that it wasn't bad.
Overview:
Colin needs to find a nanny for his daughter Sophie. I wish it told how Colin adopted Sophie while he was a SEAL. Lilly answers his ad after she was fired from her last job. She answer more in his life then just being his nanny.
Another great book from Leslie North! This is the second book in a series and just like the first book, it had strong characters and an easy to follow plot line with some action. The book didn’t feel rushed and was easy to read.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

This is Lily and Colin's story and when I picked it up I didn't realize it was part of a series and that it would have been an issue not having read the first book in the series. I'm used to similar titles being read as standalones, but we are missing a chunk of Lily's backstory and I don't think we get to see much of Colin outside of their relationship.
Still it's a quick steamy read. The two had a lot of chemistry and I really like the whole live-in nanny trope for some reason. It just works for me. Ended up being a little middle of the road for me at a three star book. I did enjoy it enough to want to read the rest of the series. I really liked Leslie North's writing.
3.5 stars. This is a story between an ex-Navy SEAL, Colin and the woman he hires to be his Nanny, Lily. This was quite a sweet book. I liked the characters and the bond between the love interests and Colin’s daughter Sofia. There was a bit of angst between the love interests and also a bit of suspense thrown in there from a side plot. However, as this was quite a short book it felt a bit rushed with everything it was trying to do and sped up quite quickly at the end. It was also quite cheesy in the final chapter. Saying that, there was nothing I overly disliked about it, I just prefer a bit more fleshing out in a book.
I received a copy of The SEAL's Beautiful Nanny by Leslie North from Netgalley and its publisher for my honest review. I don't remember reading any of Leslie North's other novels, but I think I will be on the lookout for them. I like the story line and the characters were likable, yet not completely developed. I must have missed the part as to what Colin does for a living now, because I kept wondering where he went off to for work. The steamy scenes were not graphic and fit into the story line well. While, I do think the characters could have developed their relationship more on a personal/verbal level the book was enjoyable to read.
Second in this new series and a very good read. Lily and Colin find themselves embroiled in a potentially challenging scheme. There is a small amount of angst, drama, mystery, danger, romance and steam. This is a quick but entertaining read. Add to your TBR list and enjoy.
This was my first book that I have read by Leslie North. This was an easy read, the words flowed nicely, and the characters were all likable. It had a few steamy scenes, not too graphic. Some parts were pretty standard but I liked that the writing wasn’t fractured and was easy to follow without being boring and repetitive. I will definitely look into more works from Ms North.

"The Seal's Beautiful Nanny" by Leslie North
My Speculation:
With Colin being a single dad, what will happen when he finds a nanny named Lily to help him raise his adopted daughter Sofia? Even though this wasn't supposed to be a permanent job for Lily due to her aspirations she had in mind of wanting to do after her teaching job didn't work out. But what will happen as things start to change and to make her may want to reconsider something entirely different for her well being? What will happen when it seems there may be sparks between Lily and Colin? Will Colin be able to protect Lily from a stalker who seems to have his sights on pressing her against her will?
Well, to get all of these questions answered, and much more, you will have to pick up this good read to see how well this author will bring it all together to the reader. Be ready for some romance and suspense as we will see if Colin, Sofia, and Lily will get a HEA in the end.

I feel as if I must be missing something here. I don't understand the many glowing reviews for this book. I have read and liked a Leslie North book before, but this book was not very good.
The hero and heroine have 4-5 conversations before deciding they are deeply in love, only 1 of these convos was about anything meaningful. I just had no idea how they fell in love.
I felt like we didn't get to know these characters very well. I literally finished the book 5 minutes ago and I can't remember their names. This book feels like a story summary instead of the actual story and there was no chemistry between the lead characters. Overall, a disappointment.
