Insiders view to the royal family and it's children through the eyes of the nanny. The story illuminated the the expectations of those who served the royal family.
The Royal Nanny by Karen Harper is a historical fiction told through the eyes of the Nanny that helped raise several of the royal children of King George V and Queen Mary.
As someone that LOVES the British Royal Family, I was obviously drawn to this book. I know quite a bit about this period and these royals, so none of this was new. I still enjoyed reading about these real historical figures from a fictional standpoint.
The only aspect of the book I did not enjoy, and felt was completely unnecessary, was the imagined character and love interest, Chad. I did not like him, and felt it detracts from the book. Only because of that addition did I lower my rating. It was still a good book overall.
3.5/5 stars rounded to 4.
