Ok the description of this book is what seriously sold me!! How your attorney tells you “give me a call if you want to know how it feels to be handled by a real man,” WAIT WHAT???????? I thought this was a prank! I got to that part of the book and I couldn’t stop laughing, I felt like a school girl from the giddy laughs.

I love me a book with humor, and great characters. Ok so Sloane is a young woman whose getting a divorce, she ended up with Carter, I won’t say why, I don’t want to spoil it. Their relationship was intense from the beginning I couldn’t put the book down, and the humor? I love a book that makes me laugh randomly. I loved the challenges that Melanie incorporated into this book, it made it very relatable, and made me root for Sloane in every way.

Carter and Sloane deserve eachother, and I was so happy that she went for her old man!!! Age means nothing!!! Thank you Xpresso Book Tours, NetGalley and Melanie herself for the opportunity to read this book, humor and romance?? Sign me up!!

Wow! Was not expecting to love this book and it's characters so much. The description of the story made me feel this was going to be a bit cheesy. It was anything but! It was funny, the dialogue was excellent and entertaining. You really engaged with both characters. It was heart warming and sexy. I loved this book so much I'm now going to buy others by the author. Great read and would recommend it for romance readers.

Oh, the delicious scandalousness of a- slightly older- hot as sin divorce attorney slipping you his card and telling you to give his a call when you want to know how it feels to be handled by a real man since you were clearly too much woman for your ex. Then add in a southern accent and sweltering Charleston nights and... Oh, just, yum.

There is just something so attractive about a man that knows what he wants. Yum. You know, I couldn't really help it... the whole time I kind of pictured Carter as Matthew McConaughey's character from a Time to Kill and maybe a little Gabriel Macht thrown in there too. I just couldn't help myself... I think it's the suits and the accent. *shiver*

Sloane and Carter's characters encapsulate the level of banter/chemistry I aim for when reading romances. The pace was fairly quick and you pretty much get sucked in almost immediately. The little dust-up - well, let's just say I kind of figured it out beforehand, but it was fun and enjoyable little twisty full-circle action.

All in all, this was fun and flirty with some Charleston aesthetics thrown in and yummy saucy-times. I highly recommend for those looking to add a little flirt to their day!

Suspenders and bowtie??!!! Sign me up! Carter Van Gordon will totally heat up your ereaders!

Sloane married young, but now is going through a divorce. Her divorce attorney had an emergency, so she passed the case to her law partner, Carter Van Gordon. This man, commands attention, easy on the eyes, hard worker, dominate, fair and protective of his clients. He is immediately feeling the chemistry between him and Sloane. But Sloane isn't ready for anything with the opposite sex because she is newly divorced.

This book was a quick unputdownable read. It was funny, sweet, hot as heck and there was a twist/turn that I was not even expecting. Fantastic. I really enjoyed it and am so looking forward to her friends stories.

What happens when you’re propositioned by your Divorce Attorney and your a tavern wench? Sparks fly!!! The Divorce Attorney had all the elements of a romance that I love. It was quirky, fun and spicy! The characters were relatable and I ended up rooting for them. I love the incorporation of the real life struggle but at the same time the magic that comes with meeting someone new. Melanie knows how to keep the reader engaged and turn up the fire! I would rate this a 4 out of 5. This ARC was provided by Netgalley. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Meh. I'm not sure what possessed me to request this. It made me cringe within the first few minutes of reading this book and the characters… yeah no. I get the appeal. I do. And the concept, I'm all for it but sorry, this wasn't for me. At all.

Who needs sleep?!? I stayed up until 3 AM finishing this book. I absolutely loved it and could not put it down! I was sucked in from the first chapter through the end. This was my first book from Melanie Munton and I cannot wait to read more. I loved Carter and Sloane. The way they meet is unconventional, but I loved it. Her group of friends are also entertaining and I will definitely be snagging the next book in the series!

Thanks so NetGalley and the author for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars

I saw a teaser for this book and immediately had to go digging for more information on it. I hadn't read anything from this author before this but I can guarantee I will be looking into more from her now.

I am a sucker for southern charm and these characters had it in great abundance. However, that wasn't what made me fall in love with the story, instead, it was the interactions between the characters. Their dialogue, inner musings, and banter were perfect. I also appreciated the cute chapter names and watching them connect. Even though this technically is an instant-love type of romance it never felt that way. Time was meaningless and didn't really focus on the story. Instead, it felt natural and was adorable.

Great secondary characters that I hope will get their stories too. I LOVED the preview of the next book to come. There were some editing issues in regards to misused words or spelling but I am assuming those will be fixed in the final editing process.

Melanie Munton is a new author to me and I really liked her style of writing, as this story was super fun, entertaining, and easy to read. And with really likable characters, particularly the four girlfriends, and a romance that had heat, minimal complications, and some nice moments of banter I was easily engaged throughout, and I would happily recommend it others. Not to mention I thought it was a great start to this new series.

This was a fun, sexy and quick read. I liked all of the characters and found them all entertaining. Never thought I'd say that I wished I was a 23 year tavern wench! The quasi May-December plot was a tad far fetched but Sloane was entertaining and Carter was wicked hot. A girl could always hope for that kind of luck I suppose. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. The girls in Sloane's posse were a riot.

Really enjoyable and Laugh out loud funny , had me in fits one minute and palpitations the next.
I loved every page and am Dying to read the books of the 3 friends.

These two were brilliant characters, their chemistry was off the charts and their banter perfect.
He’s so cool and calm, with a big protective spirit inside him.
She feisty , loves easily and falls hard , a sensitive woman .

This was my first by this author , but even as I write I’m looking into her past books , I’m hooked.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

I really liked this story. Over all the characters are good. Sadie is completely sassy southern bell. For too many years she allowed a man to make her feel less than. He was dishonest from the onset of their relationship. But she is breaking free from him. She is shedding her worthless husband name and all. She is ready to live her life for herself. Living her best single life with her friends.
Then she meets her sexy substitute divorce attorney. And shamwow she is hot for him suspenders, bowtie and all. Carter is 15 years older than Sadie and he to has a life filled with regrets and brings his own baggage and doubt to the table. Carter is an example of a perfect southern gentleman. He is increditably sexy with his dirty talking mouth and fierce protection of Sadie.
On a story level this was a solid 4/5 read for me. I can’t wait to read the follow up stories in this series. This was my first time Reading anything by Melanie. I really enjoyed her character interactions. Their personalities came through as unique and only made the story that much better.
On the technical side this was a 2/5 read for me. This was not a well edited copy. Random sentence and pages breaks. It also has random numbers, maybe page numbers, with in the story. I am going to assume I have an earlier copy and not the final product. This really needs a strong final edit before going to publication.

I won this book as an ARC from NetGalley. Just as advertised, a young divorcee finds a second chance in the arms of a much older southern gentleman... who also happens to be her lawyer. Much emphasis was put on the things he could teach her as a much more experienced lover, although the descriptions left me somewhat wanting...

This was a fun book and great start to a series. There were a lot of funny lines and I liked the overall story line and characters. I also liked the chemistry of her girlfriends (future books), but at times I wanted a little less of them and more of Carter/Sloane. It dragged a bit in the middle, but it was a fun and light read. 3.75

I was afraid that Sloane's character was going to be immature. Complete opposite actually. Carter falls hard for her, it takes Sloane a while to trust what they have can be something lasting. I really enjoyed reading, The Divorce Attorney.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

When Sloane's divorce attorney goes on an unexpected maternity leave, Carter oh so hot Carter with his suspenders, bow tie all wrapped up like a gift steps in. Yes, Sloane's ex is horrible, he cheated on her and insulted her during the final settlement meeting, and at the end Carter gives her his number....oh and did I mention Sloane was wearing her waitress outfit that included a tight corset? Sloane doesn't call him, but he shows up at her restaurant asking why she didn't......they both are at different parts in their life but you just can't help but root for them. I also loved how the author was able to let the reader know that Carter was devoted to Sloane and would not be giving his number to the next divorcee. I just loved Sloane and Carter and was dying for their happily ever after, there was an expected twist that made their love story all the more grand. Loved this book! A new favorite author for me.

One time when I was in my twenties, I went bowling with my then-boyfriend. A guy out with a few of his friends kept watching me bowl, and when they went to leave he came over and gave me his phone number on a piece of paper in front of my boyfriend and said that he would know how to treat me right and to give him a call. At the time I was shocked (and flattered) but ultimately tossed the paper with his phone number. This book reminds me of that time, and makes me wonder what would have happened if I would have taken the risk and called him.

I enjoyed Sloane and Carter's chemistry and banter. I was pleased to see her education and career goals were actually tied into the story (I feel like I read too many books nowadays that mention the main character is going to school but it's basically a throwaway comment that never relates to anything). I didn't anticipate what the break-up problem would be, but it was a good one. An enjoyable read.
