Lovely presentation of the first day of school for children who are either excited or nervous to attend.
Great book for back to school especially for children that are nervous. This book shows the children going through their whole school day in beautiful photographs that show a diverse range of students.
Photographs in non-fiction books are difficult and can date a book. I like this book, but although I don't think they are....the photographs already seem dated.
I received an electronic ARC from Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley.
Brightly colored photographs combined with simple to read text take younger readers through school days. Rotner captures the joy and excitement of elementary school with her story. Photos of children experimenting and learning let readers of all abilities see themselves.
Great book to use early in the school year or at summer events to welcome students.
School Days would be a great book for any young child that is nervous to begin school. I loved the utilization of real pictures. I think this is hugely helpful in helping a child make the transition to school. The day that was depicted is incredibly true for what school is like. It is clear that the author has had real-life school experiences, and therefore, she created a great nonfiction resource.
