I absolutely adored this book. It made me feel things the entire way through, and I finished the book in about twelve hours. Anton is a young adult who had a traumatic year. As he tries to move past it, he crosses paths with Edith. Anton was able to help Edith and their stories were forever intertwined. I was crying and tearing up until the very last page. I highly recommend this book.
Very few people in life get it right. Most people have many regrets and things they would change. The lucky few just seem to divinely understand what is good and right. This novel is a beautiful story about just such a man. The author has provided a stunning view into one mans whole life, his victories, his losses, love, heartbreak and everything in between. You will fall in love with these characters and you will root for them. In the end you will consider yourself lucky to have met them. This story will touch you and resonate with you long after you’ve read the last page.

What a heartwarming read! This was not my usual kind of book, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance, because it was sooo good.
18-year old Anton is still getting over the death of his brother, as well as the loss of one of his hands, when his parents decide to go on vacation for Christmas, leaving him all alone. He happens to see a neighbor, Edith, being abused by her husband. This event will shape the rest of his life.
The main characters of this story are wonderful, especially Anton, who is such a good boy and man, you can't help but love him.
I absolutely loved this book and recommend it highly!
I got this book last night and finished reading it this afternoon. In typical Catherine Ryan Hyde fashion, once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Not because it was thrilling with many twists and turns like many books out there, but because I immersed myself in Anton's life. Catherine has a way of writing characters that are alive and make me really care about them. Do not miss this book! It's an amazing, sweet book about people's lives.
This book was great! It was so easy to lose yourself in the story, and kept you turning pages to see what happened next! Will definitely be recommending!
