This was a hilarious and quick read. I enjoyed following Hanna around as she learns this new world. I really enjoyed the story. I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
The second book in the series, but the first I’ve read. Not a bad book, but I felt like a younger audience would enjoy the banter and characters better. Would recommend.
Pretty good book! Fun and entertaining. I enjoyed it. This was such fun to read. A great book to enliven your afternoon.

First of all, I didn't read book 1 but I didn't find it hard to understand the plot and know who's who. It's been a while since I read a paranormal romance that I was so excited reading this one. I had fun reading Love Sucks and I found the characters very likable. Hannah is a bit quirky and someone I want to be friends with. Even though I don't all the characters well-developed, still they're fun to read. Besides, this is a part of a series and only the second book so I'm sure, we'll know more about these characters in the next installments.
Love Sucks is a plot-driven story and I liked where the story led me throughout the book. The scenes are all interesting, although at times I find some scenes a little bit too convenient. And there are also scenes that involves Hannah in some danger but resolved quickly. The reveal at the end also didn't surprise me that much. It was surprising but not that grand. But wow, that cliffhanger makes me want to read the next book very soon.
The romance is not my favorite. I just don't like it when there's more than one potential love interest. But still, I enjoyed Mark and Hannah's banters, thoughMMark is absent in the story most of the time.
I love paranormal romance and was so happy to finally read one with queer rep! It took a lot of tropes from that subgenre and turned them on their head, which I enjoyed a lot.
This book took me on a hilarious roller coaster ride. I know when you think about the dark nature of werewolves being murdered, hilarious is not the word you would think to describe the book. Despite the sad senseless deaths of Mark's friends, there is lots of comedic relief included. The main protagonist, Hanna, is back in all her sassy smart-alec glory. She is a flawed, likable, and a strong female character. I really enjoyed this book, it is my favorite in the series so far.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.

This was so much more fun (and made much more sense) than the first book!
Writing style: It's a bit simplistic for my taste. Nothing is ever properly explained and she blames it on werewolf secrecy, but to me it just feels like Aubin is too lazy to give us any answers. Only at the end does she give away something interesting and then she ends the book and leaves you waiting for the next one.
Characters: Everyone was so much nicer to read about. In the first book everyone was kind of flat, but they had some more substance to them now which was very nice. They could still use some work though...
Story: This was without a doubt a plot driven story. It was fun, quirky and the smut was very tastefully written. The villains could have used a bit more substance and more time on the page. Whenever Hannah is attacked, the problem resolves itself super fast and then you get a whole lot of filler story only to have the big powwow be a mayor disappointment. And the big reveal at the end of the book? Not that impressive to be honest...
Okay, I pointed out most of the negative points of this story, but it was definitely a fun and quick read and I did enjoy it. Love Sucks gets three stars from me.

This is book 2 in the second book in the tails from the alpha art gallery. (side note, this first book in this series had a name change. Originally it was called Once upon a werewolf, not it is Love Bites) Either way, this series is so darn good! This book picks up where the first leaves off, which was a bit of an emotional cliffhanger. Hanna, still working with an art gallery full of werewolves has an unexpected surprise when some of her favorite famous artist from the past, including Vincent Van Gogh, who is also a werewolf, shows up at the gallery seeking protection from an unknown source trying to kill the werewolves. It leads to some fan girl moments for Hanna that I really loved. On the romance side, it is still a VERY slow burn, like snail pace, for Hanna and her boss Mark. BUT, you don't miss it one little bit. This series is funny, fun, sexy, and more! I LOVED it and cant wait for the next in the series. I know things are going to happen in that one that we have been waiting for, and I for one, will be there for it! 5 big stars for both books in the series!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Gnarly Wool Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the second in a series, and although it can be read as a stand alone, I think the experience is better if read in order. I did enjoy this book, some humor, some surprises and a little romance! Interesting story. 3.5 stars
I was so fortunate to get a copy of this book through NetGalley, in exchange for a review, since I am a huge fan of Cynthia St Aubin. What a fun read for sure, now I would recommend that you read the first book in the series since this book picks up were the other one left off. Plus you get to meet all the fun characters in the book. There are plenty laugh out loud moments, some steamy romance and of course some action and suspense, all sprinkled with the paranormal. I can't wait to see what will happen next, the chemistry between Hanna and Abernathy is great, and now that I have devoured this book I will re-read it at a slower pace to savor it more.
Yikes this wasn’t for me. This book has a grown adult flapping her hand and yelling PICK ME PICK ME in the middle of a conversation. Instead of just stating her point.
I found the main character annoying for many reasons. The rest of the writing was muddled and did not flow well. The premise sounded fun, just didn’t work out.
"I felt a twinge of satisfaction. If I couldn't be right, I could be irritating."
Cynthia St. Aubin is a gifted author who employs a healthy dose of wit and whimsy in her writing. 'Love Sucks' is the second book in her series 'Tails from the Alpha Art Gallery.' It picks up just a week or so after the conclusion of 'Love Bites.'
Hanna's adventures continue when Vincent Van Gogh shows up and informs his friends at the gallery that someone is hunting werewolves. Hanna's alpha boss Mark disappears, and a new wave of murders brings Detective Morrison back around. Resident artists Steven Franke and Scott Kirkpatrick are also back for part two of this story along with a few new characters. There's cheese and karaoke and plenty of shenanigans along with mystery and intrigue.
It's been a long time since I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish a book. This one absolutely hooked me. When the story was over, I sat in the darkness and thought about all of the twists and turns as scenes played out again in my mind. This book was well paced, well plotted, and well written.
This is the second book in this series and I found it to be not quite as good as the first book. With werewolves and very interesting characters it kept me going, chuckling some of the way. I'm looking forward to more the next book in this series. I got this e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

When I requested this book I didn’t realize it is book 2 of the series, so I picked the first up on KU. I really liked the first one, it was quick and fun. So I jumped into book two. Unfortunately it was not as good for me. I think my main problem was that I wanted more character growth and instead Hanna regressed. For much of the book she was TSTL. Despite all evidence to the contrary she refuses to accept the truth and despite overwhelming danger she “forgets” to tell people what’s happening and puts herself in the line of fire purposely. She’s not a teen but acted like one. Despite this I actually did enjoy the book overall and will definitely read the next one! In fact I will probably read her older series as well!
This one was even better than the first! Hanna has a complicated life that's about to get even worse. She's learning even more about her favorite artists than school could ever have taught her. Abernathy is still frustrating her, professionally and personally. And not only does she have Morrison pursuing her, but a whole host of men are vying for her affections. It makes for a hilarious read mixed in with a tension filled mystery. There were new faces,, sexy times, and a big dose of Oh My God's! And that ending. There are no correct words to describe that ending. I can't friggin wait for the next book!
Always a unique read! Werewolves, vampires and 19th century artists. Despite Hanna denying she is a werewolf heir Abernathy is committed to convincing her. While murders are happening close to home, she’s a magnet for other wolves and the detective can’t stay away either. She is surrounded by more men than should be allowed. It’s comical the lengths these guys go through to gain her interest. This story makes me wish I had paid more attention to my art history professors, these artists are a quirky bunch. St. Aubin wrote an exciting story with elements of fantasy, love, and friendship, with a side of murder and mystery. I’m always thrilled to read one of her books with sassy humor and quirky characters. I received an early copy through Netgalley.
I loved this story and I want to read the rest of the series.
It was a fun read, engrossing and well written, and I loved the humour, the characters and the plot.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
I enjoyed this book but wish I had known it was part of a series. When I looked it up on Goodreads, they did not have it marked as book 2 of 3. If they had, I would have read the 1st book first. However, it was really good. I enjoyed the art references and the dynamic of the characters. I look forward to reading the 3rd book when it comes out.
I loved this book. It was such a fun read. Although the overall theme was serious, the humor and banter of Hanna and Mark and the quirkiness of the other characters made the book a fun and light read.
I thought the addition of the "dead" artists was a unique touch that worked well for the overall atmosphere of the novel. Hanna is awkward, but she definitely found a back bone and began showing her true colors in this novel, which was a great thing! I will definitely be reading the next book.
I love this series!
Second book is good as much as the first one, if not better. Now Hanna knows the true about her boss, her colleague from work and... about herself.
And Abernathy... ah, so hard to resist him. So much chemistry between him and Hanna. He's now more open but still keeps some secrets.
It"s a perfect blend of mystery, comedy and romance.
Real page turner. I finished it in one day.
If you still didn't try these books what are you waiting for? Good fun is guarantee.
Start with book one, Love Bites.
