Beautifully illustrated cookbook! I especially liked the emphasis on one-pot (minimal mess) meals. I am more low-carb / keto than paleo, but I still found a lot of good ideas for both dishes and ingredient swaps.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.
Visually appealing with easy to follow instructions and some delicious sounding recipes. Two thumbs up!
This book was very useful and full of beautifully written and elaborated recepies. I like that in addition to the measures in ounces, there are also measures counted in the metric system, which is very useful for us, readers from Europe.
There is only one thing I would like to add. It would be great to indicate on every recipe is it clean, full paleo, or some of the variations with ingredients that are not "clean paleo". It would be easier to know this before you read the ingredients and the recipe and it is not so hard to add it in the next edition. Just a little label on top of the page would be just great and useful to find a suitable recipe even faster.
Great book for anyone trying to eat healthy not just Paleo. Bright pictures and straight forward recipes. A must have on your cookbook shelf.
This is a great cookbook which would be a fantastic addition to your paleo cookbooks or for anyone looking to make some healthy choices.
Although I don't follow the paleo diet, I definitely see its value and limit many of the foods that are forbidden in the paleo diet. This book makes that even easier to do.
An added bonus, great pictures!
Thank you Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for this digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have never gone on the Paleo diet but I'm always interested in new and delicious recipes that I can cook at home. This book is not strict on the Paleo diet so you will find some recipes that include non Paleo ingredients but she explains the reasoning behind this all at the start of the book.
Her emphasis is on healthy eating but you can eat what you want in moderation more than a strict diet. The recipes are clear and easy to understand and the beautiful pictures make everything look fresh and delicious. Not every recipe has a picture though.
The biggest obstacle someone might have with this book is purchasing the ingredients required to cook a lot of the recipes as they would not be standard to a lot of households outside of Paleo households or households with allergies. And expect a lot of recipes including Cashews.
Overall a good cookbook option for anyone wanting healthier meals or looking to cook Paleo meals.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Fair Winds Press for my complimentary eARC copy.
This was a very well written cookbook. I found the layout to flow well and the recipes were easy to understand and follow along to. I look forward to trying some of them out for my family.
It's been a while since I read a cookbook... and I didn't realize how much I missed it. I chose this book because I recently passed a test because I wasn't digesting pretty much everything I was eating, and I wanted to know why... I had so much inflammation that my naturopath put me on a very strict diet (no gluten, no sugar, no fruits, no bread... no fun). I thought that this book could help me with this diet, and I found multiple recipes that I can't wait to try!
I liked how she says that she doesn't believe in cheating on a diet. You're not cheating and you don't have to feel ashamed or like a failure because you ate something you weren't supposed to. You need to listen to your urges too. The key is balance. She hopes that her book will become a valuable resource for people looking to change their relationship with food ; everyone can have a beautiful, delicious and mouth-watering meals without feeling deprived.
This only downside that I have is that I can't eat nuts, and a lot of recipes use raw cashews. If you can... they look YUMMY! you'll love them for sure.
Many thanks to Fair Winds Press for the complimentary e-copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A great addition to any Paleo cook out there. Clear recipes that have twists from the original. The pictures are also gorgeous. Definitely a new staple in my recipe go to.
Explore the paleo way of eating, with this recipe book to guide you in the ways to do it, following the guides to enhance your experience.
Since the focus on this book is more about healthy eating after a diet, the focus isn't on paleo so much as whole food meals. So several recipes don't conform to the paleo diet (most are clearly noted as so). But that said, it's still a book about healthy meals that is beautifully presented, fairly easy to make, and with a nice combination of exotic and comfort foods.
Each recipe is cleanly presented. A large italic title is often accompanied by a nicely photographed final version of the item. Prep/cook/and yield are presented but there is no nutrition information. Ingredients are listed in bold and italics. There is an introduction paragraph and then numbered paragraph steps. Most steps have only one to two sentences, so you don't have a case where a lot of steps are crammed into one to make the recipe look 'easier'. A callout section has notes for substitutions and other tips.
It all looks interesting and the recipes are indeed easy to follow. As with most healthy cookbooks, you'll have to stock up on items you don't usually use. E.g., peptides, ghee, coconut aminos, arrowroot powder, coconut yogurt, harissa paste, etc. You'll also need to make some items in advance (the author uses her special paleo mayonaise, for example, in many recipes).
In all, very nicely presented and photographed with a diverse set of recipes. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
Loved the photo's in this book! They helped bring the recipes to life before I even started making them :) While I have not made all of them, the instructions and ingredients are easy to find and follow. Plus, they taste good. Which is a definite plus. I recommend checking out this book (I am dairy free for life because of an allergy) while not all the recipes were completely dairy free, they were easy to convert.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars :)

I loved this cookbook! The pictures are beautiful and plenty (something I always value in cookbooks). The recipes are a little time consuming but use real food ingredients that aren't hard to find. I tried several of the recipes and I thought they all tasted great! The n'oatmeal was a little "cauliflower-y" tasting and wasn't my husband's favorite but I didn't mind it at all. The chicken taco salad was DELICIOUS and got rave reviews from me and my husband both and I will for sure be making that one again. I'm excited to try the other recipes!
This was such a beautiful cookbook full of delicious recipes! I look forward to trying Cauliflower Rice N'oatmeal, Drunken Zucchini Noodles, Buffalo Potato Salad, and Five-Minute Chocolate Chip Blondie. The book was visually stunning - beautiful photographs and gorgeous fonts! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in eating clean recipes - there is something for any craving!
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley, for a digital ARC!
Good-looking recipes, some that are "clean" (aka no dairy, grains, etc.), and some that aren't. Good mix of different flavors, though many of the recipes use a handful of the same ingredients (like the mayo, for example) - which, if you cannot or do not eat them, really restricts your options. Still, I look forward to trying some of these dishes.
I cannot find words to describe this book. The first thing that comes in my mind is the pictures accompanying the recipes. Great, water-drooling pictures. I've already tried some of the recipes and they tasted as lovely as the picture (ha ha). I recommend this book to anyone who feels that it is time to change something in the way they cook or what they eat. Eating healthy should not be an option but a way of living. Also, if you think that you are clumsy in the kitchen, don't worry. you'll survive and your kitchen will survive. They are so easy to cook and if I was able to do them, you'll be as well.
I will recommend this book to anyone.
This is an interesting paleo cook book since not all the recipes are paleo. The author explains the tenants of paleo eating, including what foods aren't allowed, and how this book includes recipes to eat while on a paleo cleanse and foods to eat while reintegrating non-paleo approved foods back into your diet. I didn't expect this and was both pleasantly surprised but also a bit thrown. I was also a bit confused by the author's definition of intuitive eating, since that's not how I've heard that term used.
The pictures in the book are beautiful! How can you resist those cookies on the cover?! I wish there were pictures of every dish which is something I look for in cook books.
Overall there are a variety of recipes. I was impressed that there's a section on drinks and desserts as well as vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
Beautiful cookbook and wonderful pictures.
Visually it's very appealing and recipes looks really delicious.
Instructions are easy to follow.
Unfortunately, none of the recipes were really for me because they were either too complex or required too many ingredients that I just don't have at home.
Full of mouth watering recipes with lovely vibrant pictures to tempt you to have a go. It makes such a difference when there is a picture for nearly every recipe. I for one need to see what it is going to look like and without this I probably wouldn't have a go. There are recipes for each meal of the day plus sauces, desserts, and drinks. The instructions are plain, simple and easy to follow, and there is lots of additional information on the paleo diet and lifestyle. Overall an excellent book with recipes you will want to try.
