The novel Word of Honor by Robert. Macomber provides the most fascinating insight into a world of war planning, strategy and intrigue associated with the environment. The author made an exceptional effort to explain the insights of the Spanish-American war, the complexities and actions taken by diverse role players in the past. Peter Wake the main character in the book, provides a meaningful description of the complex decisions, political agendas and battles fought during the wartime. The book remains interesting from the start and provides the reader with an easy but well-described description of the naval intelligence requirements and experiences that influenced individuals on all levels of society. Any person who enjoys wartime history or just some intelligence reading will enjoy this book.
