Max Lucado seemlessly and eloquently places the same biblical principles in a book relatable and understandable to 21st century Christians. Through his many current life and bibical examples, Lucado takes readers on a journey to realize the beautifully deep characteristics of God and gives us all a chance and a call to develop our relationship with Christ on a deeper level. Lucado recognizes modern day issues and helps tie readers back to our timeless cure in salvation and communion with our one true Savior. While not difficult to read at all, this boox provides invaluable insight, complexity, and a fresh perspective on God's permanent presence in our life.

Max Lucado never fails to pull at the intricate fibers of the human soul. He is able to address the fortunate and unfortunate parts of the Christian walk with God. You will walk through the stories and miracles that Jesus performs throughout his life on Earth. Max tells his stories that help prove his points that we are not alone in this world. His stories are able to intertwine with the stories in the Gospels. The people are different, the stories are unique, a life with problems still remains the same today. He lets us know are surrounded by people going through hard times and ones that have been through the hard times to help us cope with our situations. We have a Creator who knows our every need before we can even ask it or know we need it. Our trials and troubles are not a surprise to him and we have an open line of communication with him all we have to do is take it. We all have struggled with something in this life and if you haven’t, you will. Fighting the feelings and emotions of low self-worth, loneliness, feeling lost, dejected, or anger can be debilitating. Max shows you with solid proof and history that this life is made for more than a walk in the park. Jesus came for those who are hurting and weak and that should bring you comfort that He came for you! Max Lucado finds a way to have a conversation with you without even being in the same room. He lets you know that you are important and you matter to God no matter what is going on in your life. His books are hard to put down and can often be read if not in one setting, just a few, because he pulls you in to the story and connects with you on a deeper level. If your life is hard right now or you want to change your thought pattern, maybe you need that extra push, read this book. Take the challenge and push yourself to be who you are called to be and who He says you are, not what the world calls you or based off what your current situation looks like.

Another excellent read by Max Lucado! While I generally read Christian fiction, when I do read non-fiction, Lucado is one of my go-to authors. I've read a majority of his works and have loved them all! This one is no different and is so appropos for our time. This book follows the miracles of Jesus as outlined in the book of John and demonstrates the ways that Jesus communicated He is here for us. Using scriptures as well as stories from his own life and lives of others, Lucado has spelled out the Love of the Father in a very unique way. Even though one of the catch phrases this year has been "we're all in this together", I think I speak for many of us when I say that we've never felt more alone, in spite of that. This book is such a good resource for that and I can't recommend it enough! Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced e-copy of this book. I was under no obligation to write a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Authentic Max Lucado. Just love the way this man tells a story.

This time he digs into John and takes bible stories (the ones you’ve heard so many times before you think you know them), connects them to his life and expands both your understanding and passion for learning more. At its core it’s about …”life-giving belief.. abundant, robust and resilient faith.” He is looking to help us all take on board that we are never, ever alone and he does this job brilliantly.

There are questions for reflection at the back of the book (written by his wife) that encourage introspection of the material read and the developing of a deeper understanding

I will definitely revisit this book and highly recommend it to others. It’s a wonderful, digestible, easy- read.

With thanks to #NetGalley, Thoma Nelson and the author for my free advanced reader copy to review in exchange for an honest opinion.

As always, I thoroughly enjoy Max’s book. This was done in a way that is so easy to read and relate to. It doesn’t feel like preaching, but talking to a friend. Lots on insight and discussion that makes you feel like he understands and knows just how you’re feeling and how to come to Jesus with it all. Recommend.

This book is perfect for this crazy time we are living in. It is a wonderful reminder that no matter what we are going through or how crazy the world gets we are never alone and God is still in control. I hope Max Lucado does a bible study and publishes a study guide to go alone with this book. This is a book everybody needs to read. Thank you Thomas Nelson--LUCADO BRAND - Thomas Nelson via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

You are Never Alone is another great book written by Max Lucado. It is a book that I found encouraging to read during these trying times. He takes us on journey through the Book of John, and John gives us the Hope we need to keep going, the Hope that we find in Jesus Christ.
Max is a wonderful story teller and he shares many testimonies of today that helped me to relate and understand the life of Jesus and the many miracles that He performed.
Just one of the powerful stories he shares is one of Kayla Morgan, a trained and determined long distance runner, who set many records, won many titles and was rewarded a scholarship to a great school. Kayla did all this with no feeling in her legs, she has multiple sclerosis. Max shares that she ran with determination even though her legs would become numb as she ran. She would start running and run the distance but she could not stop. She depended on her dedicated coach, who was her greatest cheerleader, who would wait for her at the finish line. She would run straight into his arms as she cried out for help. He would tell her each time, "I've got you" and he would carry her to a safe spot. Kayla did the running and her coach did the catching. He was ever-present. And Max then reminds us that we are running a race in our lives, but we will not run forever. We also have and ever-present help, someone who loves us and cheers us on. We need someone to catch us and that someone is Jesus, the One who died for us to save us.
Max shares many of the miracles Jesus performed and the reason John recorded them: "These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing you may have life in His Name" (John 20:31)
At the end of the book he has included Questions for Discussion for each chapter.
I highly recommend this book.
I thank NetGalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read and review this book. The opinions are my own.

“You are Never Alone” is another great book by Max Lucado.” Be prepared to highlight and underline continually as you go through it. The book is so encouraging and comforting in troubling times. Quotes such as “You are stronger than you think because He is nearer than you know” helps me remember I’m not in this season alone. I like how the author backs up his illustrations and quotes with scripture such as “Something powerful happens when we present our needs to Him and trust Him to do what is right he is “able to do exceeded and abundantly above all that we ask of Him. As he has in so many books, Max Lucado points us to Jesus and shows his path to get there. I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson but the opinions are my own.

Reading a Max Lucado book is like listening to a friend talk to you about Jesus. This book is no exception to that. Max shared personal experiences, biblical truths, and the stories of Jesus that illustrate time and time again the ways in which we are not alone. Jesus cares.

Max Lucado always delivers truth without preaching. You can almost imagine he is sitting next to you chatting away in his easy manner, but always delivering his message that we are never alone, and that God is always there in the midst of our problems and messes.

Another great and timely book by Max Lucado. Max takes topics that apply to all of us and teaches in a way that is easy for all to understand. "You Are Never Alone" is a perfect read for those walking through 2020 and all its challenges.

A usual, Max Lucado does a wonderful job of making the reader feel that he is loved and cared for by God. I am sure that this book will be helpful to anyone who is experiencing stress or just needs to be reminded that the Lord is always there for us. It is a shame that this book is not coming out until September. Due to the pandemic, recession and all of the violence that is going on right now, we really need a book such as You Are Never Alone to bring us comfort. Max uses many excellent examples from the Bible when God was there for us during our darkest and most difficult times even when we have failed him. At the end of the book, there are questions for each of the chapters written by Andrea Lucado. The reader may use these to reflect about what he/she has just read or they could be used to discuss the book with others.

Ever feel like no one’s listening? No one cares? Ever feel stuck? Like no one can help you, hear you, or heed your call? Then You Are Never Alone is for you.

Packed with parables of hope, grace, and healing, Never Alone takes readers on a fresh ride through gospel of John. A fresh coat of joy, perspective, and personal polish is applied to Jesus’ miracles, from Cana to Capernaum. A storm in Galilee. A crowd listening to their tummies growl. A paralytic. A blind man. Two cemeteries. And an empty tomb.

The heart beat of this book is: The Greatest Heart in the universe loves you and means you well. Because life, with all its crazy ups and downs and inexplicable twists and turns, isn’t up to you. It’s up to the One who loves, cares, and comes to your aid. In easy to understand, down-to-earth language and illustrations, Lucado also shows why and how you can trust Him.

Indeed, Never Alone is a gentle call to immerse in the strength of the loving God described in the gospel of John. The core question in this book is: Does God care? The answer, per the gospel of John and emphasized by Lucado, is an empathic Yes!

Briskly paced with brief, pithy sentences, Never Alone includes vivid word pictures wrapped around Lucado’s warm, homespun style and gentle self-deprecatory humor. Never Alone gently debunks the myth of a pain-free life in a fallen world. It also tackles the thorny issue of unanswered prayer and what to do about it. (Like, remember those five loaves and two fishes? What’s in your basket?)

As readers travel through the gospel of John with Lucado as our tour guide they’ll learn how to place their confidence in the One who made them and loves them. They’ll also discover why leaning on the strength of a living, loving Savior makes all the difference.

“Don’t let the storm turn you inward,” urges Max. “Let it turn you upward."

To be clear, Never Alone isn’t a pie-in-the-sky puff piece. It’s a nitty-gritty, tough-as-nails look at reality. Difficulty. Adversity. Pain. And much more. It also offers a lively look at what happens when God steps into all of the above.

If you’ve ever felt lonely, defeated, helpless or hopeless, then Never Alone aims straight for your heart. It’s a keeper. I read it cover-to-cover in one sitting. Couldn't put it down! Discussion questions are also included at the end.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
Lucado has a way with words. I think future generations will look back in appreciation of his work like we do AW Tozer or John Bunyan. I'm always left inspired by his thoughts and theological teachings of the bible. I think this content is especially relevant in the time we're currently experiencing with COVID. So much isolation, hopelessness and despair. Working through the book of John is a great place to land.
