This was an excellent book on strengthening your marriage, especially during the quarantine. I found this book very helpful and gave great practical advice. I like the way Gary gives example sentences on how you should say things so you don’t hurt your spouse's feelings but you are able to effectively communicate your message.

I highly recommend this marriage self-help book to all married couples during the time of heightened anxiety.

I received this galley from NetGalley.

Gary Chapman is a wonderful author and encourager of Marriage and keeping marriage strong. This short read is great for those who need a jump or reminder in how they can improve the quality of marriage while spending more time together than we are used to. It's very helpful to keep your marriage from going down hill. Times are stressful for most of us during a pandemic, I know I continuously need to work on myself to improve my marriage and give glory to God. Follow his advice and things can improve and be wonderful.

5 Simple Ways to Strengthen Your Marriage may be short, but it’s chock full of practical, everyday wisdom for couples serious about strengthening their marriages. The book focuses on the topics of calling a truce on verbal balms, tearing down emotional walls, speaking each other’s love language, learning the value of teamwork, and having a daily check-in time. The book was compiled specifically for couples finding themselves together a lot more due to the covid-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place orders, but it’s just as relevant when living outside of quarantine. Couples who take seriously the practical tips are sure to find new ways to relate and a new appreciation for their spouse and their unique relationship. Will change happen overnight? Of course not. While these principles may be simple, they’re not necessarily “easy” to implement. They will require hard work, discipline and commitment to a growing marriage. But those willing to do the hard work will certainly reap the rewards of a stronger marriage.

If you've read any books by Gary Chapman before, this one will include nothing new. Gary drills down on some of his very common concepts - love languages, apologizing, and speaking kindly - with a new perspective for spouses spending more time together during this pandemic. This was a quick, easy read filled with helpful tidbits and practical steps for couples to take. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to work on their relationship and strengthen it during this season.

Especially in these times, when things are stressful, money is tight and we are all in closer proximity, this book is a wonderful retreat and allows you to take a look at your marriage. We were not struggling, by any means, but I always think it is important to create the best relationship possible and this book is perfect. Whether you are struggling or just want to strengthen your relationship, this book really does give you ways to do so and not feel like it is forced. We loved it!

It's with mixed feelings that I write this review. My husband and I have always read and learned a lot from Gary Chapman books. I feel like this was put together in a quick way to help couples in Covid19. I'm sure that is a good thing. It's just that I prefer books that are more long-standing and helpful in the long life.

A book written for Christian couples to survive and even thrive in current covid-19 tines. It looks at the problems created by this forced togetherness and how to happily get through these times. It is very current and feels as though it is just for the pandemic. It will be interesting to see how relevant it is and how many ideas can be carried forward once we get back to normal (if ever). Overall a good rescue book that might help people immediately

I love that this book specifically addresses struggles couples may have as a result of quarantine. This is a quick read, but an important one. Chapman offers simple and practical advice for spouses that may have a little too much time on their hands or time together and how to adjust to their "new normal." If you are looking for ways to build up your partner and strengthen your marriage during or after this pandemic, I would highly recommend a read.

I'm a huge fan of Gary Chapman's work, and I can confidently say that "One More Try," "The Five Love Languages" and "Anger" have changed my life. Actually, I've read a total of six books by this author and all were pretty much brilliant.

That's why I have conflicting feelings about this book. "5 Simple Way to Strengthen Your Marriage ...When You're Stuck at Home Together" is a very short guide for Christian couples to not hate each other during quarantine - and even bond. I like how it's written in classic Chapman style: simple, compassionate and incorporating step-by-step instructions.

However, it struck me the wrong way that it is written specifically for COVID-19, something that will likely pass and make this book outdated. What's more, for someone like me who's read at least a dozen Christian self-help books for couples, this one was very basic. It repeats many of the ideas in other Chapman's books, such as the five love languages, which was disappointing, especially if I were to pay for this book.

Overall, it's a nice quick and useful read for couples new to this author or Christian self-help world. Otherwise, I would skip it.
