This was an enlighting book filled with powerful messages that encouraged , challenged and made you dig deeper into the Bible. The features of Focus and action and the prayer added to it value in thinking how does this apply to me. Great book. Enjoy how Susie Larson writes.
This is a fantastic devotional. One of my favorite parts of the book is the daily section titled, "Flourish." Day 9, for example, is such a great encouragement and conviction: "You may not be where you want to be, but God has you here for a reason. Find the high place of joy today. Look for those God has given you to encourage. Forgive your offenders and believe with all of your heart that no man, no scheme, and no devil can thwart God's purposes for you!" I also like that each day's entry begins with an applicable bible verse, then ends with a "Learn" prompt to read a related chapter or section of verses. This book is also fabulous for those who appreciate a little "extra" in regards to prayer, as each daily devotion ends with a short prayer written by Susie. Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed reading Prevail. It was an encouraging read that I really needed. It is a book that I will read over and over to help give me positive reminders when I need them. It release at a time when I really needed it.
Susie Larson’s word have been a wonderful and powerful presence and encouragement in my life for quite a while. I originally was blessed to preview her book: “Blessings for the Morning and Evening” and was blown away by the anointing that came through the pages! This new devotional is no exception. It provides an easy daily blessing of a scripture reading, short devotional, an action item and prayer. It will prepare and equip you with God’s word to help you face the day. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
Want some encouragement for living in this sometimes weary world? This book is it. Susie Larson walks through 365 stories in the Bible that show imperfect people overcoming through God's help and direction. 365 days you can be encouraged and dig deeper into the stories that will help you to keep going. Prevail with a scripture, a short reading, an action, and a prayer. I definitely recommend it.
Susie has done it again! I am always encouraged by the writings of Susie. And this new book is no different. 365 days of hope and promise. I am enjoying every page. I had come to the conclusion that a devotional with one page for the day could not offer much to a life long Christian, Susie proved me wrong.
Susie Larson’s devotional book is different from other devotions in that the reader can choose to go through day by day, or by using the topic guides with several options. Each reading has a focus Bible verse, a passage to read, a devotional message, an application passage, and a prayer. The devotions are excellent. I would heartily recommend this book.
Had no I idea how much I'd need this book when I applied for the advanced copy. Things in my life got really stormy almost overnight and I found myself struggling to put one foot in front of the other, let alone time to be apart of group reading this book.
One night I just randomly opened the book on my phone, flipping through I landed on a where the passage of scripture for that day's devotional came alive from the page and spoke right into my sorrow. The devotionals are brief enough to digest and I especially love how each one is steeped in scripture and Biblical truth. Each devotion ends with LFP, something to take with you throughout your day. While I haven't read all of the 300+ devotionals I've read enough to know that this book even as beautiful as it is will be dogeared throughout. It couldn't have come at a better time when a lot of our nation is hurting and seeking God for answers.
Did I mention the actual books is gorgeous? It'll make a wonderful Christmas gift.
I love this author’s writing. I love her heart for the Lord. This book has been such a blessing to me. It is an anointed Devotional. Each day I look forward to pondering what God has for me through this devotion. Thankful to have the opportunity to go through it.
For those who think of the Bible as dry, dusty reading that has nothing to do with today’s issues, Susie Larson’s book, Prevail, makes the Bible relatable by taking a passage of scripture each day and applying it to the struggles we all go through. If you want to go through it day-by-day, Genesis to Revelation, it will give you a broad scope on scripture – Old and New Testament - and why God inspired the biblical writers to write what they did. She also includes a “Learn” section – a reading for the day, a “Flourish” section – a distilled nugget of truth for how to apply the lesson of the passage, and a “Pray” section – a personalized prayer to wrap up the devotional writing. The days are numbered and not dated – you can start this at any time!
If you would rather tackle various topics, Susie has listed over 60, from a healthy thought life to your authority in Christ, into which the devotions are divided. Read exactly what you need to deal with the issues of each day!
In Susie Larson’s 365-day devotional book Prevail, you will find the encouragement you need to withstand the enemy and stand strong!
This is a devotional that speaks to the heart. The author, Susie Larson, gives Bible verses and ties them into practical life applicable messages. It is daily devotional that is easy to read and doesn’t take a lot of time (but I found myself reading more than one day at a time). I recommend this book for those seeking God’s truth spoken in a loving way.
From the beautiful cover to the title, Prevail, this book is a gift—Susie Larson's writing, her insight to Scripture, and living it out, is a gift.
As Susie says in the book, "Even though we're nowhere near the people we will one day be, Jesus, treasures us just as we are."
This book is a daily walk through the Scriptures that like the definition of Prevail, will help you prove more powerful than opposing forces; and be victorious.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly. It will make a great gift for Christmas, too!

2020 has brought with it so many unknowns; so many uncertainties. Even as ministry leaders, we have to admit that there are times when we too face moments when we need someone to pour into us because we have poured out so much or we have just plain been affected by the same stuff that affects everyone else...because we are human. Enter the words of Susie Larson in Prevail: 365 Days of Enduring Strength from God’s Word. Prevail reassures those of us who are weary, afraid, feel abandoned or left out that God has not forgotten us and that in Him we have purpose. Prevail reveals how God is "flexing" during this season of unrest. [Flexing is a reference to a sermon I'd heard years ago where a friend compared the power, reliability & sovereignty of God to the new SUV on the scenes- the Ford FLEX.] Each devotional of Prevail: 365 Days of Enduring Strength from God’s Word, Susie Larson accurately illustrates how God can at any moment “flex” in any situation. We need only have faith, recognize his power to do so, and respond in obedience.

I truly believe that God orchestrated the timing of the release of Prevail for the challenges that we face today. Susie Larson has gifted the world with a year’s worth of devotions that encourage the reader to stand strong in the Lord.
Larson walks the reader from Genesis to Revelation, providing the reader with a short Scripture, a brief description of the background of the verse, and how it relates to today’s Christian. She asks the reader to turn to her Bible and read a few additional verses. She challenges the reader to consider God at work in the world and in the reader’s life and to take action.
An example on day 196 quotes Hosea 2:14
“But then I will win her back once again.
I will lead her into the desert
And speak tenderly to her there.”
Larson’s challenge is, “If you’re in the desert, look and listen for Jesus. This season will prove to be one of the most important in your life.”
Prayer always ends the day's devotion.
Larson writes in a friendly and encouraging style while challenging the reader to look inward, outward, and upward. She asks the reader to take action that will honor God.
I am so delighted with this devotional that I will purchase copies for gifts to family and friends.
I received a digital advance reader copy for my honest review.
It's impossible to consume the Bible in its entirety in one sitting. That's why Susie Larson's book, Prevail: 365 Days of Enduring Strength from God's Word, is the perfect "amuse-bouche."
