This was really sweet, a little short, but still sweet. It was quite simple in its story about a pair of siblings getting ready for their two mothers' wedding. It didn't make the wedding seem any different from other weddings, which was nice, but I wish there was a little more to the story.

I will also echo that I did notice the general lack of diversity in the characters, but I don't think that was a huge problem. I actually found it more of a problem to only have one person representing a whole race, but that is me being nitpicky. Overall, a nice read that I would recommend for children.

Mom Marries Mom! is a delightful board book that shows children that a wedding is a wedding no matter who it's between! There will be dresses and rings and nana and pop and even bubbles!

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* I really love the idea of this book and its very cute but my only problem with it is how simple it is! This would be great for a series though imo with more about mom and mum and their married life because we need more kids books like this!

We are trying to teach our kids about diverse families, and this one is so nice and simple. My daughter loved the art, and the story itself made it simple for her to understand that love is love.

What a beautifully illustrated board book that addresses the topic of two lesbians who are getting married and whose children are so excited. Written from the perspective of the children, each page asks a question about the upcoming nuptials and ends with everyone having fun at the wedding. This is a perfect board book for young children that addresses diverse relationships without making a fuss or causing an uproar. It's very straightforward. I love the illustrations and the simple sentences that go alongside of them. The ease of the sentences and the colored pictures will keep little ones interested without boring them. I highly recommend this for parents of young children that want a no nonsense board book that discusses a lesbian relationship without making it a huge deal. Be on the lookout for this one, out this fall!

Title: Mom Marries Mum!

This is a short children's book about same sex marriage. Jack and his sister have just found out that their mom and mum are getting married.

Through the text and beautiful illustrations the children who read this book will see that there is nothing unusual about marriage between a couple of the same gender.

Personally I felt that the book had a nice positive vibe. My only criticism is that the book was too short. Even if there had only been pages between the girls questions, just a few pages that said yes, would probably have been enough. Children's books are often repetitive in the text they use. Though this may have been a choice the publishers made to reduce the number of illustrations as they can be costly.

This is a very cute little book. I'm glad it exists because there could always be more lgbtq kids' books, especially lesbian moms. Also, it has POC representation. Also, one set of parents of the parents showed up, which was nice. The illustrations are simple and pretty. It was a bit wordy for a board book, but still good.

I was excited to see that I was approved for me to read because I love reading books like this meant for little kids! I am in a LGBTQ marriage so this will be me one day and it is important to me to see books like this reaching our younger generation! People still make this a big issue when it shouldn't be so to see it so "normal" is great! The only thing I could say is that it was very all over the place. It seemed like they knew what they wanted to write about but couldn't get their thoughts together well enough. I enjoyed this book because of the topic but other than that I wish it was written a little better.

Sweet novel about a boy and a girl whose moms are getting married. Very simple.

This is my favorite kind of empathetic story for children about LGBTQ+ culture. Some of my associates of mine are not as supportive of diverse families as I am. This is not a book I can purchase for my library for curriculum or pleasure reading (Yet). I am buying a copy to go in our Little Library outside the school. Who knows what will happen when a child picks this book because of the happy cover. We'll See.

This is so sweet. Two lesbians are getting married and their young children are all exciting to be part of the big day.

And nothing bad happens. It is all very much a feel good story.

It is important to have stories that children of lesbians and gays can read.

And what better than a board book for the very young.

Lovely illustrations as well. It all ends happily

(My own story is that I didn't get married until my daughter was about 23 years old, which she had to explain when she went through customs, as to why she was going to her mother's wedding. She had to explain that up until a few years ago Gays and Lesbians couldn't marry. Sheesh.)

Thanks to NetGalley for making this book available for an honest review.

This is a very simplistic 18 pages children book about to mums who are getting married and it shows how their two children excitedly asking questions if their grandparents will come and what will they wear during the wedding ceremony. etc. The answers to all these questions are- Yes.

A simple, caring book about a child excited for the upcoming marriage of her mothers. LGBTQ representation. Clear text, perfect for toddlers, preschoolers and new readers. Setterington and Priestly capture the essence of a child's curiosity without the heavy handed messages that come across often in children's books.

My only comment about the sensitivity of the material is that aside from a biracial couple and another guest, the characters are drawn as all white and follow a traditional view of a wedding by having one mom dressed in white and the other dressed in a suit.

Otherwise, this book is one I would have at the library for kids whose parents are remarrying, or marrying for the first time.

This board book is beautifully illustrated and allows children to see the joy that can be had when two people get married.

It is fantastic to see an author and illustrator showing young children that love knows no boundaries.

I would definitely recommend this book for pre-school children.

Thank you Netgally and the author for the gifted copy, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.

This book was extremely short and simple. It doesn't make a fuse about same sex marriage, it's just 2 people in love getting married.

I think it would be a cute story for young children

3.5 stars

This is a super simple board book for children. There isn't much to it, but that's to be expected for a board book. The artwork is great and the story is simple. I really like seeing books like this out in the world. I love this one; it's adorable. I give this book a 5/5.

A board book for children (meaning a very short 10 pages of text). A quick and cute celebration of family.

Two siblings look eagerly forward to the mums' wedding day. The wedding is beautiful with family in attendance. The sister/daughter is the narrator.

This is a beautiful picture book they Ken Setterington. Ken is a Canadian author and Librarian!

This board book scheduled to arrive fall of 2020 is diversity at its finest. Jack and his sister are thrilled that their Moms are getting married. This book gently explores the questions that might be in a child’s mind: Will the grandparents attend? Will I be a flower girl? And the answer to all the questions is a resounding, “Yes!”

The beautiful and detailed illustrations by Alice priestly do a wonderful job of expressing the joy and celebration in this short tale of love and family.

This board book a sweet confirmation that a marriage between two moms will be the same joy-filled experience as any other wedding. Perfect for preschool-aged children!
