This is easily my favorite in the series so far.
As soon as I got approved for the ARC I shoved all obligations aside and stayed up WAY past my bedtime to read. I inhaled this installment in two sittings because I could.NOT.stop.reading.
CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE revolves around a Best Friends to Lovers trope and wow did it work! Noah and Alexis's slow burn evolution felt genuine and so well cared for. Their friends are not-so-casually nudging them to explore being more than friends and that enthusiasm had me shipping them hard from the get-go.
What I LOVE about this book:
* I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. There is certainly plenty of com in this rom-com. The Russian alone had me in stitches.
* There are some heavier issues at play, but I love how Adams weaves in those elements while still delivering a fun, well-developed romance with a happy ending.
* Return characters- while this can be a stand alone book the backstory of series regulars really adds depth.
* The dynamics of the male book club members. I love that they hold each other accountable while actively working to flip the narrative.
* Beefcake the Cat
Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for the review copy.
Do you know why the Bromance Book Ckub series is great?
Because Lyssa Kay Adams has written Alpha Male characters who are not jackasses. That is not the usual way to go.
These men are confident, take charge guys who have a tremendous amount of respect for women and the rights of women. That is incredibly sexy!
I laughed so much reading this book. Noah's interactions with the guys and with Beefcake. Hilarious!
The Russian is just the best. Love that guy! How is possible for Lyssa Kay Adams to continue to improve?
This was another great installment in the Bromance Book Club series! Crazy Stupid Bromance is a very satisfying friends-to-lovers romance. Lyssa Kay Adams has crafted another story with believable characters, who are dealing with real life problems and learning to trust again while falling in love. These are books that I love to return to again and again, and I can't wait to revisit Alexis and Noah.
This series has been a delight all the way through! I hope we see more from the Bromance Book Club! Because I really need to know what happens to the Russian and Colton!
The third book in the Bromance Book Club did not disappoint! Alexis and Noah have been inseparable friends since they met taking down Nashville's top chef. Both are afraid to take their relationship further, not wanting to mess up their amazing friendship. When Alexis's life turns upside down, she leans on Noah for support. The Bromance Book Club seizes the moment to try and secure love for one of their own.
Lyssa Kay Adams, dives into more heavy topics, as she did in Undercover Bromance. They never feel heavy or impead the story, and are handled with care and respect. Her characters continue to be well developed and feel like real people. Can't wait for the next one.
Crazy Stupid Bromance is the third book in the Bromance Book Club series by Lyssa Kay Adams and it does not disappoint! The characters are rich and dramatic and the storyline is perfect. I loved Noah Logan in this book. As a secondary character in the first two novels, I didn't get much of a read on him, so I'm glad that Adams chose him as her focus for this novel. His background and struggles in his youth that led to his anger issues in this book made him the perfect match for Alexis Carlisle.
I loved the friendship issue that Noah and Alexis had to overcome. It's realistic and made the characters relatable.
I love this book series and can't wait for the next book. I am so hopeful that the author will focus on the "Russian" as her next leading man. I love him!!
Another great bromance read from Lyssa Kay Adams. She has created such an endearing crew of men that you want to have around in your own life. The romance was so sweet and endearing.
Loved, loved, loved it!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
By far the best of the series!
Welcome to book three of the Bromance series. A successful group of men (including professional athletes and singers to name a few) get together at their own book club to read and discuss romance novels. (Quite a twist from your normal man-cave, right?) The ultimate goal being to keep their relationships with their wives/girlfriends strong and healthy.
The primary focus of this latest addition is on Noah and Alexis. These two have been wallowing in the “friend zone” for over a year. Can the Bromance book club help Noah to break out and claim the woman he loves? Does Alexis feel the same way too? Or is she content with her best friend remaining just that?
This book has everything you could possibly want in your rom-com. A tender love story combined with plenty of humor. Lyssa Kay Adams achieved the perfect balance with both.
Without a doubt this was one of my favorite reads this year and I can’t wait for this author's next release. Who will the Bromance Book Club men be helping in the pursuit of true love next?
A weekend rom-com buddy read with a Susanne that we both just loved.
Thank you to Berkley Publishing via Netgalley for an ARC to read and review
This is the third in a series and it is so delightful. The Bromance Book Club is comprised of athletes, businessmen, and other high powered men of Nashville (woo!). They read romance novels and usually end up recruiting a newbie to help his love life. The latest addition, Noah, is in love with his best friend, Alexis. But he is nervous after they have developed such a solid friendship and she’s been through a lot in the past year. With more coming- she just found out her dad- who she never knew- needs a kidney transplant…and she’s a match. These two’s love is really sweet because they already know each other so well, they just don’t know how to take the next really scary, hard, vulnerable, next step. This one might be my favorite yet.
Crazy Stupid Bromance is everything you want in a romantic comedy and more. Steamy romance, feminist messages, lovable characters, and a bonus--this one contains a possibly-evil cat named Beefcake who will make you laugh out loud. The scene in the spa alone is worth the entire book because it is so delightfully funny. What I especially loved about this book compared to the first two in this series was its complex and satisfying side plot. It's not just a deeply satisfying love story, but it also explores themes of grief, family, the meaning of friendship, standing up for what's right, and learning to accept and honor your emotions. Even more impressive is that it does all of these important tasks without sacrificing an ounce of fun or need to keep turning pages. I sat and read this book all in one sitting, as I have with each of its predecessors. Each installment of Lyssa Kay Adams' Bromance Book Club series is more masterfully written than the last. I would read 100 more books in this series!
*Review scheduled to post October 22nd!**
DEVOURED THIS.
Ahhhh, another good installment y’all. I love how the Bromance Book Club combines laugh out loud moments with critically important topics as well.
Hello, way super smitten with Noah here. Once again, anther love interest that I adore. Such a tough guy with an absolutely soft soul. I adored his dynamic with Alexis and trying to make sure he was the best he could be for her, and being what she needed when she needed it. Add in the *helpfulness* of his friends and its a recipe for some mistakes, and beautiful growth moments.
I only struggled with one decision. And I can’t speak to it because it would be a major spoiler, but I’m curious what others will think. I understood the affect it was meant to have on the reader, I just don’t know if it was necessary? I DON’T KNOW. I’m conflicted. The theme of forgiveness was huge in this and I think that’s why it’s swayed me to being more okay with it the longer I’ve thought about it. Either way you look at it, it was a tough choice.
Alexis was a strong main character. Her bravery to face down the Karen’s and finding her power again was stunning. I was hoping to see her grasp that SHE mattered too, and I really saw those changes by the end. Love some character growth from both Alexis and Noah. Put them together was fireworks. They were a match. No other way to look at it.
Overall audience notes:
Contemporary romance
Language: strong and frequent
Romance: kisses / heated make-outs; a handful of open-door scenes
Trigger warnings: remembering sexual assaults, loss of a parent, grief
Let’s hear it for the Best Bromance Book of the Bunch: “Crazy Stupid Bromance!”
This novel is filled with hysterical laughter, friendship, love and lots of swoonworthy moments sure to make you smile. What makes “Crazy Stupid Bromance” better than its predecessors “The Bromance Book Club” and “Undercover Bromance” is that it feels like real life and is a book you can totally immerse yourself in.
Here we have Alexis Carlisle, owner of the ToeBeans cafe whose life has taken quite the turn since we last saw her in “Undercover Bromance” and gorgeous, geeky Noah who Alexis met as a result of that time in her life. The best of friends, these two exchange witty banter every single day.
When that spark finally ignites, all bets are off!
The chemistry between these two is OFF the FREAKING CHARTS much to the dismay of Alexis’ cat Beefcake who loves torturing Noah (which admittedly made the cat lover in me laugh quite wickedly!). Way to go Beefcake!
Then there is The Bromance Book Club! Baaawaaahh!!! Thank you for making my day guys! Cue the Laughter and the Tears which literally STREAMED down my Face! You guys Frakking Rock!
What more can I say?! This Bromance book will make even doubters hope and believe. For this is what it’s all about in my opinion: A friendship that turns into romance.
An absolutely fabulous buddy read with Ms. Kaceey! Thank you for sharing in the laughter Kaceey.
A huge thank you to Elisha at Berkley Publishing Group, NetGalley and Lyssa Kay Adams for making me laugh and smile at a time when I need to look towards the light.
Published on Goodreads on 8.2.20.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!!!
It was so good, i just love this series and the characters that have been created !! Reading this book feels like coming home, it gives you that warm fuzzy feelings that everyone is looking for when they read romances. Both Alexis and Noah have heavy baggage that they are dealing with on top of their feelings for each other!!!
I really really love Noah , he is the boy next door that has a heart of gold and just is truly a nice guy !!!!! And of course his interactions with the men from the Bromance Book Club is just priceless!!! These books would not be complete with the guys, and I true think they will forever be my favourite part of the book and the series !
I really hope there is more to this series!!!! I don’t want to leave these amazing characters !!!! So fingers crossed there is another book to come!!!!
This is my favourite book in the series so far. For two reasons: these two main characters appealed to me the most, and friends to lovers is my favourite trope, and it was so well done here. It was amazing to see them very carefully going from best friends to lovers. I loved their relationship so much.
One downside is that I think this book maybe took on a few too many sideplots. I think it would have been even better had there been more of a focus on only two or three things.
CWs: discussions of sexual assault, discussions of death of civilians because of military operations, kidney transplant/organ donation/surgery/hospital, past death of a parent/grief, sex
I was such a huge fan of the first book in this series, and fell completely in love with the bromance book club. I can’t say I felt the same way about the second book in the series. Thankfully this one is more like the first, and I adored it!
I laughed so hard, especially at Beefcake the cat. I literally had tears coming out at one point I was laughing so hard.
This was everything I love in a rom com: hilarity, witty banter, characters I was invested in, a great gaggle of minor characters woven throughout the series, and a plot that tugs at your heartstrings.
I can’t wait to see how this series continues to evolve. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my complimentary digital copy of this one!
These books are like candy!!! I devour them in one sitting!!! I really loved how the author handled the sexual abuse that was in this book (from a previous book). I loved Noah and his relationship hang ups felt real and likable!! Might have been my favorite of the 3... and can Beefcake get his own book?!?
This is the third book in the Bromance Book Club series and boy, it did not disappoint!! I finished this book in under 6 hours, I couldn't put it down! I laughed, I cried, I did everything in between. This was so well written and may honestly be my new favorite of the series! This book is friends to lovers excellence. The slowburn, the longing, it was so well done!
Lets talk about the characters. Noah Logan was a great male character. I thought he treated Alexis so well from the beginning. All he wanted was for her to be happy. He is also the nerdy guy of my dreams. Alexis is such a wonderful human. She has been through so much throughout her life and she handles everything she does so well. She also has this cat named Beefcake who I am so in love with. I thought they worked so well together.
This book also gives you great looks into what the previous characters are up to. You get glimpses into Gavin, Thea, Liv, and Mack's lives. You also begin to get a more proper introduction to The Russian. He is probably my favorite character and had me laughing the entire time. I am seriously looking forward to the next book about him!
Overall, this book is a highly recommended one! I will be purchasing a physical copy for myself when it is released!
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review!
This third installment of the Bromance Book Club series is as enjoyable as its previous series-mates. Tackling the “friends to lovers'' trope with humor and sensitivity to the well developed character’s backstories, this was a very fun read. While some of the trope application was trite (the terrible woman is “Karen,” surprise sister with dying long-lost father, etc.) the overall book feels like an entirely plausible modern love story. Being friends in a close-knit group removes some of the Insta-Love/Lust that usually requires a certain suspension of disbelief while reading romance books. Some favorites from previous books appear as supporting characters and I am already excited for the next book in this series (Please let it be “The Russian”...please, please, please?!?!)
A cute romance. Steamier than I usually read but enjoyed it enough. The cover is terrible. The first two in the series are cute; this one is just plain awful.
I have really been enjoying the Bromance Book Club books - there are inevitably a few scenes where various members of the Club school the newest member on what romance novels are, what they mean to their readers, and why the traditional straight romances are important resources for straight men wanting to learn about straight women that are hilarious and fantastical.
