Crazy Stupid Bromance was so sweet. I adored it. I feel like the friends-to-lovers trope is not my favorite but every time I enjoy one, it makes me think I might have been wrong. This third installment (which can also be read as a standalone, by the way, you just won't know the side characters just yet) was pretty entertaining and I have to say the plot concerning the FMC's biological father and family hooked me. I was invested from beginning to end and I loved seeing Noah with her. The bonus of this book was Alexis' cat. That harness scene was pretty funny and it also helped both MCs figure out their attractions and feelings afterward ;).

Overall, I think I enjoyed this one even more than Undercover Bromance. I can't compare to the first book since I didn't read that one yet... shame... I know I know... but I will read it, eventually.

3.5 stars. Ripped through this one in like a week and it was a balm on a really bad week of late nights. Lyssa Kay Adams just has a real way with words and with emotional moments, especially between the Bromance Book Club members. I really liked Alexis and Noah’s will-they-wont-they romance and their true friends-to-lovers story. They were really there for each other, and the natural turn into a romance made it super super hot when they got together. That was the best part of the book.

I also loved the ToeBeans Cafe and the girl friendship between Liv, Alexis, and Jessica. I actually wish we’d gotten a few more scenes of what went on in the cafe to really establish it as a community meeting point and safe space for sexual assault survivors.

Honestly, it was the surprise family stuff that kinda slowed this one down for me (it’s not really a spoiler, it happens in, like, the first two chapters). I just really...felt like Alexis’ sister was a flat character, as were her dad, and the rest of the family. Noah’s family was a little less cardboard, with the complex military death, and his mom and dad’s best friend kind of being into each other. It was understandably messy, but a lot more unique and interesting than Alexis’ side. I just wish we’d gotten to know them more.

Overall, for a book that really was a lot more serious in a lot of ways than the others in the series, really skirting the romantic drama/comedy line, I felt this was a bit of a letdown. The romance was great. The family stuff felt rushed and too light for the weight it added to the characters cause and because of that, their conflict also felt a little too contrived. I know each book is supposed to feature a different trope of romance (sports, suspense, surprise child, etc), so maybe this is just not the trope for me. I will still be reading the next in the series, because I love the Russian, but hoping for a little more depth - especially since the Russian is usually the comedic element to these books.

Also, can we get more about Colton?

So this is my first foray into the Bromance Book Club series. It caught my attention after reading a Men's Health article about an actual bromance book club. This was a good one to start with personally because the couple consists of a former hacker and a cat cafe owner, and I love cats and am casually studying computer programming. I'm not normally the type to read or watch romance or even romantic comedies, but I'm not adamantly opposed to it.

I give this four stars because I did really enjoy it and I found the characters to be very likable. So likable that I'm probably going to go back and read the first two books and the next one when it comes out. I love the modernity of the male characters even if the purposeful wokeness of them seems over-the-top at times (it's a fictional romance, all the more reason to have nothing but likable characters). I think the added complexities of the male protagonist Noah having to navigate a post-#MeToo world (and doing so without calling it a witch hunt (or acting like he can't even breathe without being called a rapist!)) made the plot more interesting and relatable. The estranged father in need of a kidney from a biological match plot was boring at times and seemed like it came out of nowhere, but the author does explain in the author's notes that her husband had a similar plot point in his own life recently.

There was a good bit of character development and growth, but the inevitable "big romance novel fight building to climax and happy resolution" felt very contrived and poorly developed. While the reasons for the fight are explained a little more by the characters after its resolution, it still doesn't make up for the fact that it didn't feel like it made sense when it occurred. This was my biggest qualm with the book. So obviously it was a good book and didn't have many issues for me personally.

I would recommend this to romance readers and to men in general (read the article linked above for further explanation of why men should try reading romance novels).

This is one of my favorite series! If you don't know anything about it, it's about these guys who formed a book club, hence the name "The Bromance Book Club" where they read romance novels to help with their relationships. It's hysterical and will have you laughing out loud!! This book follows Noah, the computer guy, who we met more in the last book. He was a key player in helping to bring down Royce in the last book. It's been about 18 months since the last book ended and he and Alexis have become best of friends. Such good friends, Noah is afraid to do anything to mess that up...and vice versa. Yes, you can practically hear all the Bromance Book Club Member's eyes roll at that! So, this book has Noah being inducted into the club and as icing on the cake....if you read the last book...which you should have. I wouldn't want to give anything away....but Mac, not Liv plans their wedding. Talk about Bridezilla! And he drags his buddy's along with him. I can't wait for the 4th book!

I have to say that this is by far my favorite book of the series so far. This one is Alexis and Noah's story. I loved this couple. Their deep friendship just made their romance that much more amazing. They had great communication and there wasn't too much angst. Only what I would call a few "butthead" moments. Both of them really struggled with feeling like they were enough and that they could trust. It was a pleasure going on their friends to lovers journey with them.

The book had the same great humor and hilarious laugh out loud scenes as in the first two books. That scene at the spa was hilarious. I did have to disagree with the Bromance Book Club about the secret baby trope. I am not a fan and never feel like any HEA that might come justifies keeping a child from their parent. Unless there is potential abuse. Putting that aside, this one is still my favorite. I can't wait to read Vlad's book next June!

I’ve been waiting for this story, each is a standalone story but we can see all these characters in each. So many crazy events happen when the The Bromance Book Club gets together and this is no exception. Just as the blurb states, Alexis was first introduced when she was facing a woman’s worst nightmare and was forced to keep quiet about the sexual harassment she faced at work. Noah has been a bit of a mystery in the book as no one knows exactly what he does. However, one thing is for certain and that is Noah’s love for Alexis. Trying to break the friend zone isn’t easy but, with the help of his bros, Noah just might beat it.

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes and this book definitely delivers on that theme. Alexis and Noah have been inseparable for more than a year, but both are afraid to express their true feelings and risk losing their best friend. Poor Noah. Even after watching "the manuals" work wonders with his friend, Mack's relationship, he just can't bring himself to admit he might have something to learn from a romance novel. Even when he does give in, he fails to understand how the story relates to him because he has so much to learn about himself before he can really have a successful relationship with someone else.

The characters and situations in this series always feel real, even if there are probably very few men forming book clubs to read romance novels and smash the toxic masculinity in which they were raised. Issues of family, harassment, and assault are all handled deftly without making the story feel too heavy.

One of the highlights of my 2020 has been the Bromance Book Club series. Men constantly challenging toxic masculinity with the assistance of romance novels? It’s everything I’ve ever wanted!

This next addition to the series follows Noah and Alexis, best friends who might want to be something more. After receive some shocking news and a desperate request, Alexis needs her best friend more than ever, but can Noah really remain as just her friend?

To be honest, friends to lovers is not my favorite trope. While I can recognize that it’s ultimately an extremely healthy way to start a relationship, it can sometimes be a little lackluster for me in terms of romance novels. It also didn’t help that Noah and Alexis meet in the previous book, so their friendship seemed, to me, to come out of nowhere. STILL, I was rooting for them to work out their issues and actually come together. I truly believed these two loved each fiercely even if their communication was often complete trash.

My favorite aspects of this book (besides my favorite bros waxing poetic about how to be better men) was definitely the discussions around trauma & survival. After publicly coming out against a famous chef for sexual harassment, Alexis’s café becomes a haven for survivors to bond and find each other. Watching Alexis healthily process her trauma & help others to do the same was really beautiful.

A special shout out to Beefcake, because I am always going to love a pet causing absolute havoc. This cat caused pure terror for Noah which makes sense as you just win over my pet to win my heart

Thank you so much @BerkleyRomance & @NetGalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 27 October 2020)

SYNOPSIS | Alexis & her cat cafe have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of sexual harassment by a celebrity chef. She has used this fame to turn her cafe into a place for other survivors to connect, what she doesn't expect is that a customer reveals that they're half sisters and their dad needs a serious surgery. Alexis turns to the only man she can trust for advice, her best friend Noah.

WHAT I LIKED:
- friends-to-lovers trope
- Beefcake the cat
- familial drama for both Alexis & Noah
- bingeworthy writing

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- the men in the Bromance Book Club are just overly preachy & i find it causes the writing to come across disingenuous
- miscommunication for the sake of drama trope

Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams was such a great read… this friends-to-lovers romance is my favorite of the series Bromance Book Club series!

Friends to lovers can be a tricky trope but Adams delivers with a truly believable story that will warm your heart.

Alexis and Noah fit so well together, she is a Cafe owner working to get over trauma in her past and Noah is a hacking genius now a successful businessman in the space.

The banter and connection these two share bleed off the pages, allowing the reader to become absorbed in the story.

When they give into the sexual tension… man…. hot and oddly comfortable… the reader can feel they belong together.

The way Alexis’ past comes back and into the present was really well done, it provides a setting the has the depth of Noah’s feeling and his connection and understand for Alexis shine. He really “gets” her.

In the end, the happiness these to find is perfect for them!

I am so excited for the “Russian” next in Isn’t It Bromantic?

if you have not read any books in this series …. this book is easily read standalone.

As this review posts, I am not alone in my praise for Crazy Stupid Bromance as it is an Editors’ Picks: Best Romance on Amazon.

My new favorite! This one was adorable and everything I wanted in the third book of this series. Alexis and Noah were adorable, and I felt like their relationship felt very real.

Although this one isn’t my favorite of the series, it seems like it’s coming in as a close second. It’s different than the others in this series because it’s more heavy than the others, but it’s still a great book, but it’s still not touching the first.

Alexis and Noah are best friends. They feel like all they have is each other. They have bonded over somethin very sad, but they keep each other together. Then a new customer comes to the bar and says that she’s Alexis’ sister. But what she’s asking of Alexis is impossible. Or Noah seems to think so. He’s been in love with Alexis for a long time and will try to keep her safe as long as he can. He enlists the help of the Bromance Book Club to help him win her over.

My one and only issue with this book is somethin I’ve been saying since book one. I really wish she would incorporate the book they’re reading more into the book. The first one was so well done. It ended up being my favorite part. I was hoping to get back to this writing style since it was a contemp romance as well and that’s what she writes, but no. I was a bit disappointed, but the parts that were shown, I did like them. I guess I just wanted more book since it’s about a book club.

As for everything else, it was amazing. I felt SO MUCH reading this. By the end I have to admit I was in tears. And all it took was one simple line. I also laughed all the time. I’m not sure, maybe it’s the comedic relief, but the jokes were laugh out loud funny. And I found myself swooning with every interaction of them together. I really enjoyed this one.

As usual, since it was a contemporary romance, I want to discuss the romance. I loved that we got so much time with them as a couple. I don’t remember that being a thing in the first two books. And they were so cute together! The way they exchanged glances and knew what the other was thinking because of their friendship, was just too cute. Definitely my favorite part of this book. And let’s be honest, that whole magician/ magic wand scene was HILARIOUS lmfao

This one was very good, but still not better than the first, and I don’t think it’ll be as great as the next one. Or maybe I’m just biased because it’s the Russian’s book. And I’ve been waiting on his and Malcolm’s stories since reading the first. This series is a definite favorite and I hope she keeps adding more people to the Bromance Book Club and we get all of their stories too lol

There was so much going on here. I wanted to love this because it had a cat cafe and I honestly love those!

Alexis irritated me here. Not even just her; her family as well because they were manipulative and rude. This was made to make Noah seem like a bad person when he really wasn’t. The guys and Alexis gave him such a hard time when he really wasn’t even the problem.

I didn’t love the book club guys this time around. I found them to be a different version of the guys we came to like in the previous books. They called Noah a fool about quite a few things when it came to Alexis and I didn’t understand that.

Overall, I wasn’t a fan of this one.

Lyssa Kay Adams does it again! The Bromance Book Club helps another struggling couple find their happy ending. Alexis and Noah have been the best of friends for over a year and they both want to take their relationship to the next level, but they both say they don’t want to jeopardize their friendship. The reality is they are both scared and their friends finally call them on their cowardice. Of course this is when the real fun begins and Mack and the guys rope Noah into joining the book club.

This is the third book in the Bromance Book Club series. Readers can start here and enjoy the story, but to fully appreciate this group of guys starting with book one is best. My favorite part of this series is the ongoing conversations between the guys about the books they are reading. They are constantly poking gentle fun at the pitfalls of romance novels or hashing out the finer points of popular tropes. I enjoy that each book in this series finds the Bromance Book Club reading a different romantic subgenre.

I really really really like the man squad of romance readers that Lyssa Kay Adams has given us. She has a fresh voice and great characters! This book was especially fun because we have been introduced to the secondary characters and it's a lot like visiting old friends. When you throw in a cat cafe and a secret crush, you've got all the right elements for a fun read.

This is my favorite book in the Bromance Book Club series- deeply emotional, and a great take on the friends to lovers story.

3.5 stars=Good+

Some great LOL moments here as well as some heart-tugging ones as Noah and Lexa deal with personal demons (for her, grief, discovering a family she never knew she had, and a possible transplant - for him, grief and anger as well as past choices) while figuring out their relationship status.

The premise for this series - a book club of men who read romance novels to help with their real-life relationships - continues to be a winner. I loved all of the scenes with the Bromance Book Club, the ones where they are helping Mack plan his wedding, where they are busting Noah's chops, and when they support him in his lowest moments. The book they assign Noah plays a very small role in this particular book in the series.

I wanted a little more from this one. Both Noah and Lexa had great reasons to be angry with some of the things happening in their present lives. But Noah seethes until it comes out sideways in sarcasm and Lexa stuffs it in an effort to take the high road. Maybe it's just the rage of 2020 talking, but I wanted them to express and deal with their justifiable anger in the present in order to help them with the lingering hurts of the past.

I enjoyed this new installment, and I am eagerly awaiting book 4. This series is a must-read for me! (Language, sex, TW: grief/loss)

I started reading Lyssa Kay Adams during the Pandemic when it was hard to pick up a book and concentrate, I was pulled into the two previous books within a chapter or two. I've been hooked since, which is why I was delighted to have the opportunity to review book number 3. Crazy Stupid Bromance is just as fun and sexy as the first two books with all of the happy moments that seem hard to find in real life right now. Also, Beefcake the cat steals the entire book, he is the most accurate depiction of an old former Tomcat I have ever read and he is a delight! There's also a hint about book number 4 toward the end....I look forward to more Bromance Book Club in the future!

Wonderful series by Lyssa Kay Adams. This was a new one for me as I've never read anything by her before. I love rom-com books and this one definitely hit the spot. Super cute and funny. The storyline was interesting and kept me engaged. And who doesn't love a happy ending.

I love Lyssa's books so much! I can count on them for heartwarming, steamy, happy endings every time. Her latest was no different, although it doesn't come close to her first BBC installment.

I sped through this one and found the plot to be incredibly fast paced. I enjoyed the character development of Noah and Alexis the most, I just think some things were "off" with the story arc. It is hard to explain--it just didn't flow as smoothly as Lyssa's other books did.

I will continue to read any additional books she publishes as I am invested in these characters and overall enjoy my time in their world!

If you are looking for a "feel-good" story that dreamily concludes, this will definitely do the trick!

4/5
