This book was not my cup of tea. Too much jargon that I did not enjoy. Meandering and not an enjoyable story.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. You can't win them all

I feel like I've been screamed at for the time it took me to read this book. Disappointment all around.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free,it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

Nobody Gets Out of Catering Alive is a memoir by Joe Montaperto. Montaperto shares stories about his adventures as a comedian, a caterer, and a seeker of spiritual enlightenment.

Some of the stories are amusing and some are quite sad. The book jumps from one topic to another with little segue. I feel the stories could have been better organized.. Also, the author uses one word about a thousand times as a noun, verb, adjective, and insult. There are other descriptive words out there besides that one beginning with “f.” It was overused.

If you enjoy biographies and stories about the ups and downs of life, you may like this book. I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

I couldn't finish this book because the character's narration was so frustrating for me. I couldn't wrap my brain around why there were all the "man" phrases at the end of every sentence - trying too hard, in my opinion. The disjointed stories in each chapter were supposed to relate elements of loss and trying to find yourself in a new religion, but it was too difficult for me to follow, so I gave up halfway through. Thanks for letting me check it out, and I hope to have more success with the next one.
