Those that have been reading this series as each book releases knew that book 4, Fourth A Lie was not going to be an easy read. With situations taking a downfall in Book 3, Third A Kiss, we knew that Big Brother was going to make a horrid appearance and boy does he ever!

The suffering that both Sully and Eleanor have to endure in this book, both physically and mentally is quite hard to read, my heart just broke for them. They didn’t always make the right decisions and I didn’t know if my heart could take it lol what a thrilling instalment this book is to this series, the action just didn’t stop!
When you felt that the passion between Sully and Eleanor couldn’t get any more passionate, it certainly does, you can feel it steaming from the pages and with Sully finally admitting his true feelings to his beloved Eleanor/Jinx (in his own way obviously), he did make me swoon many times!

“Loving you is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I hate it. I curse it.” He bit me again. “I curse you.”

With another open jaw moment at the end of the book, we really are in for an epic conclusion in the final book Fifth A Fury!

Bravo Pepper, bravo!!

Oh my God, the suspense is killing me! This book just picked up where the last one left off, and it was full speed ahead the entire book! So much happened, so much action and violence and suspense, its killing me not knowing how this is all going to end! Jinx is strong and determined and willing to fight for what she wants. Sully is coming around and becoming a good man, but he just has to get out of his own way! And I'm sorry, but I hope Drake dies a slow, painful death! I need the next book NOW!!

Well, Fourth a Lie was definitely a surprise. It starts from where Third a Kiss ends and I love that we finally get to see some truths coming out of Sully. Some of those I already suspected, some took me by surprise, like only Pepper Winters can do.

Eleanor never ceases to amaze me with there strength, I like that in her a lot. Although she can be so vulnerable, she never stops being incredibly strong. And true to herself. Which makes her so relatable to me. Sully is more than we expected and I want to keep uncovering his layers, because I feel there's even more about him for us to know.

Fourth a Lie so far is the book in the Goddess Isles series with the most action. It could be part of a great action movie, in fact. If you can stomach seeing Drake doing wall kinds of horrible things. I cannot wait to see that guy getting what he deserves.

I love that Sully really sees Eleanor for herself, all the parts of her. The ones that makes her Eleanor and the ones that make her Jinx. In fact, he is probably the one person who sees her for what she truly is. And that just makes their connection even greater. Not to mention their chemistry.

But this is not a fairytale kind of story. No, this is yet another dark/darkish romance, so things are not rainbows and flowers. Just the opposite. There were some very tense moments. Some very intense ones too. And some that were even hard to read. Pepper Winters is truly a master of those kinds of books.

And after that ending, I truly cannot wait to see how the story will play. Pepper is known for her cliffhangers and this one wasn't different. But instead of annoying me or making me angry, her cliffs always make me want the next book more. Maybe because her stories are always so well written. So it doesn't feel like she is abandoning us readers when she leaves us with a cliffhanger. And she always delivers something good afterwards with the next book.

I am very anxious for the fifth book in this series. I am devouring these books whenever they arrive on my kindle and I cannot wait to do that one more time. I just have to have more of Sully and Eleanor.

Diving in I was unsure just what kind of a journey Pepper Winters was going to take me on. I was sure that she would play my heartstrings like a fiddle and take my emotions to different levels.

I loved Eleanor’s determination to hold on to what she has found with Sully. His determination equally as challenging when it comes to getting his way. No two people more fitted for one another aside from how they were brought together.

I think all I had seen through Sully’s eyes about his brother Drake was enough to make me share in his distain however the evil that comes from that man knows no bounds.

More twists and turns and secrets are revealed as we journey through Fourth a Lie. I will be using my time between now and Fifth a Fury to absorb all that has transpired in this book and try and prepare for what Pepper has up her sleeve for a finale.

The twists and turns plus the emotional element are key. The author knows how to keep us guessing and wrench our heart.

Fourth a Lie is the fourth book in Pepper Winters’s dark and addictive Goddess Isles series. You can NOT read as standalone. Believe me, you want to read this series if you crave dark romance like I do. Once you start, you will not want to put to the book down. I can’t really say much about the story without spoiling it so here I go...

Love. Fate. Hate. It was all complicated especially for Sullivan and Eleanor. She loves him fiercely. He doesn’t want her to. Her love has made him weak and with a war coming, he needed his strength. He needed to be murderous not distracted. It was time to let go. He knew he didn’t deserve her and she needed to believe it.

Well, that’s it. I will say...Be prepared. Shit gets real.

Quotes:

I kissed him...but he devoured me.

“I don’t have the fucking strength to survive you.”

“I thought I knew who you were. I thought I had an answer to my question...but...who the fuck are you, Eleanor Grace?”

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions! A rollercoaster I did not want to get off and yet ended way too soon. You're going to want to throw your book across the room. You're going to see the light at the end of the tunnel and then the light is going to go black. This book like the rest of books in this series was breathtaking, unbelievable and completely earth shattering! What Sully and Eleanor go through has left me with a hole in my heart. If you have not been Sullied by Sully yet, you are missing the best series of this year! I need Fifth A Fury in my hands so that I can be complete! Wow, Pepper, just wow!

Gob-smacked. Speech- and breathless. In all honesty, I really don’t know what to say anymore. Each review I’m struggling for words, because none seem adequate to describe the masterpieces this crazy-talented author dishes out every time. Pepper Winters’ The Goddess Isles series just keeps getting better and better, definitely a top favorite of 2020 already – and we’re (thankfully) not even done here yet …

My mind is a jumbled mess, full of chaotic thoughts of this brilliant continuation of Eleanor and Sully’s story, and yet I feel tongue-tied, because everything I want to say could basically be deemed a spoiler – and trust me, you do not want that. But, seriously … WTH???

This book destroyed me, wrecked me, shattered me to pieces, and yet I was turning pages like an addict, knowing it’s toxic but not being able to stop. When one situation was finally resolved, the next even worse one presented itself, and I was on the verge of a heart attack every single time … It’s a love / hate relationship, an utter, unhealthy, earthshattering but vital addiction. Darkness, grit and magic galore, plus off-the-charts tension and sensuality and characters who have a penchant to get it on in the most dangerous situations …

That cliffhanger though … I loved it but hated it in equal measure (it’s a theme with this series I guess). Now I’m anxious to find out how it will all be wrapped up in the next – and last book (I’m not ready!!) and hoping that my soul gets through it in one piece …

An intoxicating love story if there ever was one, all delivered in that beautiful poetic writing style of Ms. Winters that’s unparalleled. Sigh.

Oh my I loved this book!!! Sooo intense!!!! Sooooo unpredictable!!! I love Sully and Eleanor!!!

I don’t want to spoil anything so hard for me to write more than Pepper is such a gifted writer!! This series is absolutely wonderful!!!! Very well written, great story! What a ride this series has been for me!!! A+

Dang! This series is a ride and not a nice relaxing Sunday drive where you stop and get ice cream and laugh… more of a grab the o’shoot bar, say a prayer and hold on tight for this roller-coaster ride!

I knew this book was not going to be as easy as Third a Kiss, I knew we were being set up for destruction of our hearts, but I still hoped that maybe Pepper would be kind. (I am laughing with tears right now).

FaL picks up tight where TaK leaves us with our jaw on the ocean floor cursing Sinclair. Drake has fully arrived on the island and nothing will be the same. He’s come to ruin his baby brother and he might be able to do that if he can get his hands on a certain goddess.

This book is full of twists and turns, some were predictable, and others take you by surprise. Sacrifices were made by many willingly and heartbreakingly.
I cannot wait for Fifth a Fury I only pray that I am strong enough!!

Read it!

This is the fourth book in the Goddess Isle series, and the continuation of Sully, and Eleanor's story. This book continues from book three, and we are spun around the with the web of lies, and roller coaster of twist, and turns. This was amazingly written, the characters have palpable chemistry, and their story kept me glued to the pages. This was intense, emotional, passionate, dramatic, raw, gritty, twisted0, dark, suspenseful, and mysterious. I highly recommend this series! 4.5 Stars

Eleanor and Sully are back! We get back on the Goddess Isles once more with our breath held after the ending of book three which had left me speechless.
After events from book three, we will experience rage, anger, want to kill, unstoppable Sully that will do everything in his power to protect what's his, even at the cost of his own life and heart.
Eleanor, I think I loved her in this story the most it was really nice to see her getting stronger and standing in the middle of everything on her own. Loved that!
In the last book, we met Dake, Sully's brother, what he will do to get what he wants? Will Drake destroy everything or the other future will take place?
Forth a lie touches the darkest topics when it comes to the whole series, be advised there are LOTS of Triggers Warnings in this story.

OMFG! This book had my heart pounding from beginning to end. Fourth a Lie is nonstop insanity! Gah! I can’t even. This series has been fucking incredible. It’s intense, sexy, unique, and so suspenseful. I have no idea how this will all end up but I can’t wait to find out in the final book. I love how Pepper decided to release this series- with a book each month. It’s just the perfect amount of wait time for these crazy cliffies. If you like dark romance, you absolutely MUST read Goddess Isles! Start at the beginning with Once a Myth and you’ll never look back!!

"Time was my enemy. Fate was my prosecutor. And Sully... he wielded the axe to kill all my dreams, desires, and dreadful premonitions."

I'm dead. I'm well and truly dead. This is me ghost writing.

With that ending of the third book, the story picked up where it left off with the looming danger on both the lives of Sully and Eleanor. The question is, will love be enough to survive it? Is it enough for Sully to trust the depth of Eleanor's feelings and risk it all? These questions and other multitude of feels on this book had my heart race, pound and wrench. You could safely say, my poor heart was put into a wringer and you would be right. Not only that, but with again with that ending? I. Just. Died.

This book deserves all the stars, and more!!!

This was an amazing book! I couldn’t stop reading with so much anticipation for what was to come next! It tore me apart and left me gasping in the end.
Absolutely brilliant storytelling, I’m loving this series so hard!

I have been completely Sullied. He is an enigmatic force. A strong and compelling main character who is full of surprises. Pepper has developed Sully’s character with expert craftsmanship! He is devoted and loyal, caring and completely besotted by Eleanor!

Eleanor is stubborn and fierce in her devotion putting herself in harms way to protect the man she loves. Their love is put through trials and heart wrenching experiences and emotions.

Pepper Winters is one of my very favorite authors and this Series is truly going down as one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES! I keep seeing every action, hearing every word and sound, smelling every smell, tasing every delicious morsel and feeling every single emotion Sully and Eleanor experience! My senses are overwhelmed with awe and adoration in epic proportions! Bravo Pepper Winters! I await Fifth a Fury with bated breath:*)

Sully knows he can’t save Eleanor if she stays. He returns from Serigala determined... to send Eleanor away... to save her.

Eleanor knows what’s coming... she senses it... and she will do anything to change his mind.

This series is KILLING me!! I’m trying to write this review with no spoilers... and I’m so angry at this moment that I.. don’t know if I can keep it in. So I’m just going to say... it took me about six hours to read this book and I never wanted it to end! I was so drawn into this story that my heart nearly dropped out of my chest on multiple occasions!

Pepper Winters is an all-time favorite author for me. Her writing is so detailed, that it is so easy to see what’s happening in the story. It is so easy for me to get lost in her stories... to put myself there and truly feel what the characters are feeling. I went back several chapters multiple times while reading this book.. I did NOT want it to end!

This book brought out my vicious side... and I am feeling very viscous. I want to say more.. but I don’t want to give anything away... but I have thought of some interesting and horrible ways to make someone suffer in the time since I started reading this story... and I’d LOVE to try them out on a Drake!!
