Holy Crap!! My heart is THUNDERING!! Pepper Winters masterfully ratchets up the tension in this installment of The Goddess Isles. She has saved all the agony and all the diabolical drama and packed it in all into this book! I’m in a panic and thrashing around as if I am in an undercurrent of emotion. This book has left me drowning in an ocean of dread and anxiety.

Sully and Eleanor are in for a thunderous and destructive storm, and that attack is driven by Sully’s vile and villainous brother. Their devotion and affection for the other is tested and proven, only for it to be ripped away with the squall that comes with a tropical storm.

This is suspense at it’s finest. The story is as luminous and mesmerizing as the sea by which it unfolds. As the plot seizes the reader, the prose caresses and soothes. This series is nothing short of pure adrenaline, your pulse and heart will be skyrocketing from the very first page.

There will surely be comparisons to Winter’s previous series; one in particular, but my opinion is that Goddess Isles deserves merit of its own. Just like the exoticness of Sully’s island, this story will tantalize your taste buds and inundate your senses.

Oh, my shattered heart. I wasn't prepared for what happened. I wanted to scream, punch something to take out my frustration, scream some more, tear a character to pieces, and scream even more. My anxiety levels were off the charts. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. This is a heart pounding, pins and needles adventure.

I couldn't fall more in love with Sully. His anguish made my heart hurt. And his love for Eleanor... Goodness, did I felt it. Speaking of, she turned to be a stubborn, determined fighter. Not giving up even if she was in danger. Not going to lie, I got annoyed at her a few times. However, I saw it as how deep her love was for Sully.
I need the conclusion, so my heart can heal.

Man this series keeps blowing my mind with each book I read!!! And I keep wanting more and more!! And I keep thinking how ,how is she going to top the smoking hot levels that is a sure sign you are reading a Pepper Winters book!!! But d*mn she does it every single time!! She pulls out these images and puts them on paper andino your mind with which you are left with either your mouth hanging open or a little smirk on your face. And just hoping your man or your batteries can pull through later on that day. But this one was different than the other books. This one had some diabolical things happening that I definitely didn't approve of or want happening and I need all that was happening fixed now and let me have book 5 now please!!! I'm so so glad these books are releasing really close to each other!! Because if not I think I would be  heart broken or I would start breaking things ....lol  You need to read this series now!! Especially if you like a little dark and twisted mixed in with your romance!! This is one of the best series I've read in a long time!!! I highly recommend it but like I said only if you like that touch of dark. And 5 stars in no way does this book or series justice!!!

Sullivan makes some mistakes in this book, and he underestimates himself a lot too but I feel like that is an integral part of his growth as a character more than anything. His brother makes another appearance in this story and I cannot get my head around how two people are so very different. Sully’s strength and determination is something I really admire in this story and I am glad because it shows how far he has come from the first book to this current one.

Drake is an evil character and I don’t use the word evil lightly. It sums up how much hatred and anger he holds inside. He uses everything Sullivan believes against him and mocks it. It just makes me want Sully to get his revenge. There’s a moment in this book where I wanted to knock Drake out so much because his ‘desires’ went too damn far. The traitor is revealed and I won’t lie I never thought it would be him but to be fair it was going to happen, things are never smooth sailing.

Eleanor/Jinx, I can’t decide if I want to knock some sense into her or if she was right to do what she did. Firstly, she is a determined human and I am kind of in awe of her actions. I don’t know if I could be as brave as she was in getting back to where she needed to be. I do find myself admiring her strength, her beliefs and for doing what she wanted to do. She knows what she wants and Sully has no choice but to accept that she will not just disappear. She will not just fade into the darkness. She craves the darkness. Whether or not she will survive the darkness is yet to be seen or if Sully survives her, but one thing is for sure, I’m excited to find out!

For this story, I am blown away yet again, from the first book in this series to the penultimate book in the series, I have seen drama, angst, chemistry and intensity at its finest. Each book just gets better than the one before. I genuinely feel like I’m being welcome home every time I read the next book and then I get sad that I’ve finished the book, so I am back to waiting impatiently for the next one. The last book from the way this one ended is going to be amazing. I am so genuinely excited to get my hands on it even though it won’t be anytime soon but it cannot come soon enough for me!

“Loving you is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I hate it. I curse it.” He bit me again. “I curse you.”

Just one word: extreme. Extreme pleasure, extreme torture, ultimate betrayals and undying loyalty. What a roller coaster of emotions!

I can’t give away any spoiler and for the fourth book in a series, that will have me being purportedly vague.

This book was the hardest to read of this series.

My emotions were like a boiling cauldron.

I wanted to slap Sullivan for being so stubborn! God how he infuriated me, never budging from his position!

I also wanted to scold Eleanor as love truly makes you blind! She should have been more prepared!

Then I wanted to hunt Pepper and scream at her when something awful happened to one of my favorite side characters! I was all “How could you Pepper?!!!”

Later on, it was angst. So much angst! And scenes so hard that I could not read them. I wanted out!

Then again, a light, some hope. A pause in all that madness. It would be alright.

But of course, that would have been too easy!

After all, there is one more book to come so of course respite could only be temporary.

And I was right! We got a humongous cliffhanger!!!!!

Gah!!!

So if you plan on reading this series (and you should if you love dark and twisted romance), take my advice and don’t forget the meds to keep your blood pressure in check!

OMG, this is the most intense, twisted, crazy, and addictive installment I have read in this series. Spectacular masterpiece that got me on the edge of my seat the entire read, with my emotions all over the place. Brilliant perfection of a series that is original and unique.

Whatever is coming, you need to braze yourself for it because it'll bring havoc all over the place, and you're going to start questioning who's really a friend, and who's a foe. Just expect the unexpected, and prepare yourselfs for this freaking wild ride!!

This is one of the best series I have read in a while, and I highly recommend it! In addtion, I'm listening to this fantastic series, and my emotions are all over the place once more.

HOLY WOW! MIND BLOWN! This fourth book in Pepper Winters' Goddess Isles Series rocks and rolls from Page 1 to the end. Once you've started reading, you will be hard-pressed to stop turning pages and take a break until you've finished. The love story of Sullivan Sinclair and Eleanor Grace continues and is TOTALLY ADDICTIVE! It's non-stop action filled with emotional turmoil. Just when you think there might be a resolution, the rug is pulled out from under you and you're left reeling. What next, Pepper Winters? WHAT NEXT??!!! I am LOVING every word of this series and can't wait for the final book in June. This is Pepper Winters' writing at her best! A MUST-READ!

Hands down, my favorite book by Pepper Winters. EVER. Fourth a Lie was a roller coaster ride full of emotions that will bring you to your knees. I feel like I held my breath waiting on Sully, Drake, and Eleanor’s next moves. The cliffhanger had me all tied up in knots and as sad as I am to see the series end, I cannot wait for book 5. The emotions and the intricate details that Pepper puts into her books are astonishing. I am completely obsessed with this series!

Holy cow!!!! Talk about cliffhanger..... I simply cannot wait for the next book. Pepper Winters is such a good storyteller. Her books are beautifully written and you dont feel like they repeat themselves. Sully has stolen a piece of my heart just like Jethro did.

Oh dear Lord, what a gut wrenching series! Eleanor and Sully are such a star crossed couple. Everything comes to a head when all the characters converge on the island and the sh*t hits the fan. Nonstop action and sex. Just when you think there could possibly be a happy ending, it all turns out to be an illusion. This series has certainly kept me on the edge of my chair and I'm loving every last word!

4.5 stars—FOURTH A LIE is the fourth instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult GODDESS ISLES erotic, dark, romance series focusing on billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, and his captive Eleanor ‘Jinx’ Grace. The GODDESS ISLES series is set in the same world as the author’s MONSTERS IN THE DARK and the INDEBTED series. FOURTH A LIE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three THIRD A KISS:

WARNING: Due to the graphic violence and dark content of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: At twenty-one years old, Eleanor Grace was kidnapped, violated and drugged on her way to becoming a sexual slave. A prisoner in a gilded cage, Eleanor, along with several other girls, are either the willing sexual partner in a fantasy island paradise, or find themselves forced into a lifetime of suffering and pain. Purchased by billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, Eleanor is defiant to the end but a defiance that will come with a price. Four years a slave, Eleanor is about to discover that all is not well on the island paradise or with the man who now dominates and governs every aspect of her life.

If you have not read the first three instalment, there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives ( Eleanor and Sullivan) FOURTH A LIE picks up immediately after the events of book three wherein Sullivan Sinclair’s past, hell bent on taking control of the Goddess Isles has taken control of the island paradise, imprisoning and torturing Sullivan in the process. With most of the island security dead or missing, Sullivan is at the mercy of his captor, a demented and psychopathic mind without empathy, conscience or remorse. Believing the woman he loves is safe, Sullivan gives into his fate only to discover Eleanor has returned to save the man that she loves. Jealousy and power are at the heart of the betrayal when Sullivan must face his own demons to protect Eleanor Grace, and the islands he loves.

FOURTH A LIE is a dark, gritty, raw and graphic story of betrayal, desperation and love; a story of the dysfunctionality of malice, jealousy, and carnal desires; an intense, dramatic, and startling tragedy . Once again, Pepper Winters tears at the fragile hold on humanity leaving nothing but a shred of pain and heart break.

Dark. Intense. Beautiful. Stirring. There are so many adjectives that I could use to describe this book. I can't find the right words to justify this amazing story though. This series is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. I cannot put this books down and I am left wanting more. I am dying to know what Pepper Winters will be bringing us next. I know it will be unpredictable with twists around every turn and it will keep me up all night reading and loving it and waiting for more just as this one and the other stories before it have.

It's not very often that I cannot review a book right after reading it. But this was one of them. Pepper Winters is definitely on of my top favorite authors. She writes complicated storylines with twists that throws one off guard. Each cliffhanger has gotten worse. I cannot wait for the final book. With that said, this book broke me heart. It made me sick. I had to put it down to take a breather, multiple times. It took too long to read. When I re-read this series, I may skip it. The good is that Sully continues to redeem himself. I may actually like Sully by the end

This series just keeps getting better and better. Fourth a Lie was by far my favourite, but all the others brought us to this point. It's an intense, suspenseful read. It made me gasp, made me cringe, and gave me crackling tingles. Pepper Winters continues to amaze and entertain. The Goddess Isles take you on a roller-coaster ride of epic proportions. Once you start reading this book, there is no stopping. Pepper's writing is phenomenal. She is definitely an author who can use words to immerse the reader into a scene. Her imagery blows my mind!

While Sully Sinclair is turning a new leaf and starting to accept his fate of falling in love, brother, Drake Sinclair, is showing his true colors, and they are dark, very dark. He acts firsts and regrets later. His selfishness knows no bounds! He's the one we all hate and just when we think Sully has found a way to defeat him, Pepper throws us another curveball and has left us hanging off the edge wondering just what she has in store for us in book 5, Fifth a Fury.

Needless to say, I am excited and on the edge of my seat. June 16th is marked in my calendar. Sad to see this series end but can't wait!

I’m a little speechless at the moment. This book. I mean, from the first page to the last was full of action, emotion, pure craziness. I couldn’t stop reading. Their was no break in between what was going on in the book.
Fourth a Lie is my favorite book of the series. Hands down. I don’t even know how to articulate a proper review.

“A goddess who wore the souls of men as her empress gown while that damn invisible crown of hers glinted with the gruesome remains of the hearts of her victims.”

I’d like to take a moment to say Eleanor Grace is one stubborn and strong woman. Literally fighting for what she wants and never once gave up. I admire her so much in this book. Putting myself in her shoes, there were moments I would have crawled into a ball and cried. She didn’t. She fought through her entire “fight”. I love her more for it.

“Thanks to our bond, secrets couldn’t hide, lies couldn’t convince, and in the end, it was love that turned out to be our greatest suffering because it gave us nowhere to hide. Nowhere to pretend.”

We see even more into the back story of Sinclair in the fourth book. Bonds become stronger. Loyalties are tested. And love.. well, the L word has finally come a thing. Thank God!

“Loving you is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I hate it. I curse it.” He bit me again. “I curse you.”

I’m telling ya. You’re not ready for this book. And if you think the other books In the series left you on a cliffhanger.. oh... just wait till you read this one. I mean... it’s insane, heart pounding, and I’m over here like “WTF?!?!”

Pepper Winters at her best!
I can't get enough of Sullivan and Eleanor.
Once again Winters has written a story so descriptive it reads like a movie!
