Leslie North's third book in the Seals series brings you Soledad and Alex's story.
Navy Seal, Alex, returns home from a mission to find his ex is in labor, and staying in his home!! There is some steamy parts, some danger and suspense, and a few twists. Overall what you'd expect from the cover.
North delivers a light and speedy read with a decent, predictable storyline.
Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained.
This is a great summer beach read. I liked how the parallel lines of Alex's past followed him home and eventually intersected to bring him and Soledad together in a HEA. The characters are realistic and the interplay between them keeps you turning the page. I was a little disappointed when Alex kept the possibility of danger to Soledad a secret from her. It seemed to me that she and the baby would have been better protected had they known there was a possibility of someone hurting them. Soledad was a strong enough character to have been given the information. Overall the book was entertaining, but not as good as the other books in the series.
This is the third book in the series, and if you like Seal Romances, you will enjoy this book. Alex and Soledad are interesting, well-developed characters with chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written, with a happily ever after. It was a quick fun read.
This is a spicy psychological thriller that is a really sweet love story. Just like his brothers, Alex is carrying around a lot of emotional baggage from the way they grew up. It caused him to allow his ex, Soledad, to walk out on him. Returning after a rough deployment finds Alex confronting several unexpected surprises: Soledad in his home, carrying his child, and an enemy he once thought of as a brother who’s now bent on revenge against everything Alex holds dear. It’s a nice romance with some suspense twists . Somebody is coming to hurt Alex and to protect his loved one,he pushes them away. But in this process he can loose them...
This book brings all brothers and theirs family back together. More love, friendship and more babies.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This could be standalone...
Navy Seal Alex come back home from very difficult deployment and find his ex-girlfriend living at his home.. He wasn't sure if he was seeing this right. Not only she was living in his house, his neighbors know her better than him. He never expected to face her and she is pregnant.
Soledad was going to leave her ex-boyfriend's house as soon as she could find a job but it was difficult when you are ready give birth at any moment now. When Alex shows up after no contact for close to a year, she is surprised and that pushed her into labor.
Now Alex has a mini family he wasn't expecting and he wants to provide for Soledad and his son. Everything seems going well for their family until his trouble from last mission threatens his family. He is willing to protect at any cost but will they ever become a family. He was planning to go back for another deployment and she is ready to move out.. Plus threat is getting closer..
It was quick read. I did enjoy Alex and Soledad.
Thanks to netgalley and author for my ARC in exchange for honest review.
Good book. Alex is a Navy SEAL who has just returned home from a difficult deployment. He turned in a fellow SEAL who was dealing drugs, and the other man vowed to get even. Alex looks forward to some downtime to deal with everything that happened. He is shocked to discover his ex-girlfriend living in his house when he gets there. He's even more shocked to find her pregnant and in labor with his baby.
When Soledad lost her living arrangements, she knew that Alex was away on deployment. She was also pretty sure he wouldn't mind her staying at his place until she got back on her feet. Soledad and Alex broke up before he left because she couldn't handle his career as a SEAL. She was always afraid of what might happen to him. She is also certain that her family's curse of not being able to keep a man has continued with her.
I enjoyed the rekindling of the relationship between Soledad and Alex. Alex is a good man at heart, and quickly took to being a father. His mother had abandoned him and his brothers, and there was no way he would do that to a child of his. Both he and Soledad are committed to being good parents to Luke, even if they are no longer together. Funny thing though, the more time they spend together, the more they feel like a family. Alex has always kept his heart guarded, but the more time he spends with them, the more he thinks about hanging up his Trident. Soledad is wary of trusting Alex with her heart again. She told him of her love before, but he was never able to say the words back. Now she finds herself falling again and afraid of what losing him will do to her.
Complicating matters, Alex gets word from a friend that the SEAL he turned in is making threats against him and those he cares for. Alex is determined to keep Soledad and Luke safe but neglects to tell Soledad about the danger. He thinks he is protecting her from worry and stress. His brothers tell him he is wrong, but he doesn't listen. Alex goes into protective overdrive and devises a way to get Soledad to leave him for a safer location. It involves deception rather than telling her the truth, so it is sure to backfire on him. The scene with the package that Bruce left on the porch indicated what the man was capable of. The final confrontation, when Bruce makes the mistake of taking Soledad hostage, was very intense. Because Bruce is also a SEAL, Alex doesn't have any physical advantage. However, he does have a fast-thinking brain, and I loved the strategy he employed to get the upper hand. I also enjoyed the assistance he got from Soledad and her little dog.
I liked how Alex finally admitted his feelings to Soledad. He also made some decisions about his career path. There was an emotional scene where Alex "visits" his foster father and talks about the things he's learned about himself thanks to Soledad. It is followed by a romantic scene at a hot-air balloon festival. I liked Alex's creativity.
I also liked Alex's closeness with his two brothers. The love and respect they have for each other is evident in their relationships. I liked the way that they are there for Alex when he needs their help dealing with the threat to Soledad and Luke.
Having read this book, I added the two previous books to my want to read list.
This is a fast paced romance read. There is a bit of angst and a dose of suspense. The characters are okay. Alex is the youngest brother and he comes home to quite the surprise. The plot is a bit predictable but overall a good read. There are steamy scenes, sweet moments, and a satisfying ending. I recommend reading the first two books to fully understand this one.
Third in this SEAL series. After breaking up due to incompatible life styles, the love interests find their way back together, via their child. A quick easy read with a small amount of angst, drama, romance and steam. Add this to your relaxation list.
The Seal’s pregnant ex by Leslie North.
Soledad is left pregnant jobless and at home after splitting up from her Alex a Navy Seal who returns home from a mission to find his ex is in the throws of labour staying in his home. Then the fun begins!
Another exceptionally good novel from Leslie North A light and speedy read with a good storyline. There are a few twists in all of Leslie Norths books . Not a disappointment.
Another great book from Leslie North!
This is the third book in the series about three brothers and the author often referred back to the other brothers and where their lives were up to.
There was a strong plot, some action and was easy to read - it didn’t get boring!
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.
This romance was pretty boring. The characters were lacking chemistry and I wasn't connected to the story. The sex scenes also lacked that steamy factor that I come to expect from the genre. I wanted more from the book as a whole. Perhaps I needed to read the previous books in the series in order to get a better understanding of the main characters and their backgrounds. I was a bit lost while reading certain parts. Despite the lull I felt while reading, I was able to read it quickly, and I am willing to read in future projects that this author develops. I do see potential going forward. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading, The Seal's Pregnant Ex. Soledad doesn't seem like someone easily pushed around. A perfect fit for Alex. They are flirting a lot, made this book a fun read.
A bit predictable but still a fun read. It is always annoying though when the tough guy keeps a secret from the woman in order to "protect her" and this book was no exception.
Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
If you like the SEAL romance genre, then you won't be disappointed with this book. It is an enjoyable read that starts out rather confusing, as Alex comes home to find his pregnant ex living in his house. Ex what? Ex girlfriend, lover, wife - it's not initially clear, but it does become more clear as the story continues. The only sore spots I have with this book is Soledad saying her pre-baby body was coming back after a month which is nearly impossible and the fact the font kept changing which made it a bit distracting..
