Convection Oven Cooking Made Simple: A Guide and Cookbook to Get the Most Out of Your Convection Oven is Janet Zimmerman’s latest excellent cookbook that will appeal to anyone who owns a convection oven. It contains not only mouthwatering recipes, but also helpful facts and procedures related to convection ovens. The cookbook includes a unique variety of recipes from sheet pan dinners to comfort foods, to breads and luscious desserts. The sheet pan dinners are especially good because they are time savers and perfect for those who are busy and want to reduce the time they spend in the kitchen.

Although I have owned and been baking in a convection oven for years, the hints and information at the beginning of the book taught me many things; it’s good information for everyone who owns a convection oven and will be helpful to those who want to improve their baking skills.

The recipes are for dishes that everyday cooks will want to make and dishes that appeal to everyone. The recipes are succinct and easy-to-follow, so cooks at every level can turn out beautiful, picture-perfect dishes. Actually, the only drawback to this cookbook is that there is only one photograph at the beginning of each chapter, and no photos of the dishes that sound the best. I would much rather pay a little more for a cookbook with lots of photos than be kept in the dark as to what my dishes should look like.

This is an excellent cookbook, albeit the lack of photos, and will prove helpful to anyone who has a convection oven.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

If you’re like me, and only use your convection oven for baking a quick casserole, then Janet A. Zimmerman’s Convection Oven Cooking Made Simple is going to open up a whole new world of cooking options. This cookbook is filled with fast and easy recipes (which, let’s face it, is one of the big draws of using a convection oven in the first place).

Both my regular oven and toaster oven both have the convection cooking option, and I’ve played around a bit, but figured it was just a way to speed up cooking time. Well from seafood to biscuits, Ms. Zimmerman includes a wide variety within each section.

I appreciate the handy reference page with cooking times/temperatures for different types of meats, veggies and baked goods. Plus tips on how to cut and arrange different foods to make the most of convection cooking shed some light on the mystery within my oven.

This has been a very useful cookbook. I've had difficulty finding a cookbook that specifically covered how to cook with my convection oven, so I was very happy to get this. I have tried many of the recipes and find them well written and really tasty.

Finding cookbooks written specifically for convection cooking is a bit difficult as I've found few cookbooks available for purchase. I was so happy to read and review Convection Oven Cooking Made Simple by Janet Zimmerman as I have a gas range with a convection baking feature.

I liked how Zimmerman clearly explained the types of convection ovens and how they work. I also liked how her recipes were tagged to help ease recipe selection. For example in the Crispy Garlic Chicken Thighs with Potatoes recipe you will find the following tags: Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, One-Pan. In the Oatmeal Crispies recipe you will find the following tags: Dairy-Free, Vegetarian.

At the back of her cookbook she included cooking charts that cover everything from meat to baked goods.

Some of the recipes you'll find include:

Cranberry-Orange Muffins'
Home Fries with Bacon and Eggs
Roasted Tri-Color Pepper Salad
Bacon-Wrapped Herb-Stuffed Trout
Turkey Breast with Herb Butter and Cornbread Dressing
Slow-Roasted Spareribs with Mustard Barbecue Sauce
Buttery Pan Rolls
Brown Sugar Shortbread

Recommend.

Great book! I actually would make most of these recipes! All the recipes look easy to make and you probably have all the ingredients at home. I'm happy to use my conventional oven more often. I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

This book was great to help a beginner learn how to use their convection oven. It provided an information section with tips before going into the recipes. Each recipe is detailed, but still looks simple enough for anyone to enjoy! I loved having dairy-free and gluten-free options and having this information listed below the recipe. I would have liked to see more pictures of the meals throughout each section.

Thank you to the Callisto Media and Netgalley!
