A year of mindfulness in a 365 year calendar. A task, quote, thought, or an opinion that spans a year using the theory of mindfulness. Some of the tasks require writing in a journal or notebook, some just require reflection. It starts on January first, but you can probably start on whatever day you want but it’s for beginners. An easy gift or just some great grounding techniques to help you.
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review.
I did not know anything formal about mindfulness. This gave me lots of good information, explained in an easy way for a total newbie to understand.
This book was great, yet I had one issue with. It’s not 365 prompts, but instead dated ones, which leaves one feeling like they can only start it on January 1st. At the same time, that makes it a GREAT holiday gift for someone looking to turn over a new leaf.
Couldn't we all use a little mindfulness in these trying times? I think we could. I enjoyed the format of this book, and the reminder to take the time in each day to work on yourself. I didn't find this anything new or groundbreaking on the topic, but I don't suppose it really needs to be. It was a gentle toe dip into the subject, and I am sure that as a gift, to yourself or to another, it would be much appreciated.
I utilize mindfulness and was pleased to receive this book for review. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own.
I found this a very inspiring useful book.. The author has included meaningful quotes and daily affirmations for each reader to benefit from. I enjoyed the exercises and how the author incorporated self care as a priority .
This is a great guide for beginners yes but also for anyone that utilizes the benefits of mindfulness. It would make a great gift for anyone to use by the bedside to refer to . A very enjoyable read.
Love these daily reminders of mindfulness! I will be looking at this book constantly. But I wish there was more of an introduction, especially for those beginners.
I was very disappointed that A YEAR OF MINDFULNESS FOR BEGINNERS by Lee Papa was available for only a few days via Net Galley. Sadly, I did not have a chance to preview it and I am disappointed by that because we are seeing so much increased concern about mental health. Mindfulness exercises have been a real help and source of comfort for many of my students. I would have loved to have explored this book and potentially shared it with others. The poor rating reflects the extremely short viewing window.
Lee Papa inspires the reader everyday in "A year of mindfulness for beginners". With a daily mantra, advice, or affirmational phrases to wake up to every day, its very motivational.
