An excellent novel - an engaging adventure set during the golden age of piracy. The novel focuses on Jimmy Kavanagh, who has decided to collect a crew together one one final adventure. What starts as a successful expedition quickly turns more dangerous as Kavanagh is struck down by illness and internal power struggles start to strain the bonds of the crew.

Very well-written, populated by three-dimensional and engaging characters. An excellent read, with something to say about the tenuous bonds that can exist in certain societies and groups. Very highly recommended.
